Set of 2 autograph letters signed by the Italian tenor on November 20 and 26, 1906, gently turning down the offer of becoming the godparent of the son of Mr. Silvestro in Italy. The letter from Nov. 26 was written by his secretary but signed by him. Each one's size is 5.75 x 8.9 inches, in very good condition. In 2 separate pages, each with the letterhead from Hotel Touraine, Boston, first one is signed and dated by Caruso in Boston in 1909. Each page is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian superstar tenor (1873-1921) who was also an amateur caricaturist.  Clip from a letter or contract, with this signature, dated by him in New York in 1921 - the year of his death. Size is 5.9 x 2.9 inches, fold, in very good condition. Also included is a photo postcard, shown as Dick Johnson in "La Fanciulla del West", the role he created in the world premiere in 1910 at the Metropolitan Opera. Size is 3.3 x 5.3 inches, in very good condition.

Signature of the super star Italian tenor Enrico Caruso (1873-1921), dated below by him in Buffalo, New York, in 1908. Signature cut is matted with a nice photo of him, and attached is a Caruso commemorative medal issued in New Orleans, 1975. Total size is 8 x 10 inches, with the signature cut opening being 2.8 x 1.75 inches, all in excellent condition.

Signature cut of the superstar Italian tenor of 2.5 x 2.75 inches, in excellent condition.  ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned photograph of him as Samson in Saint Saens' Samson et Dalila with the printed signature of photographer C. Mishkin on front. Size is 5.25 x 10 inches, small tears on the top and bottom left corners and a small crack on the right outside of the image area, otherwise in well-preserved condition. This is accompanied by a program clip of a 1919 Metropolitan Opera performance of this opera featuring Caruso and Margarete Matzenauer and conducted by Pierre Monteux, size is 7.25 x 7.5 inches, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an important unsigned photo of the tenor taken by his second wife and described on verso as the last photo of him (probably not true).  Size is 5.25 x 7.4 inches, staple marks on corners, small loss of paper on top left corner, otherwise in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an original photo of his second wife with their daughter Gloria in her arms, together with a newspaper clip from the New York Times with an article about Gloria´s passing away at age 79 in December 1999.

Beautiful caricature made by the Italian star tenor with a black crayon signed and dated by him in 1917, depicting the American lawyer Charles L. Guy (1856-1930) who was in the New York senate between 1894-1898 and became a Justice of the New York Supreme Court between 1907-1926. Size is 8 x 10.1 inches, minor cracks, folds, in overall very good condition.

Super Star tenor (1873-1921), one of the greatest singers of all times. Fantastic caricature made by him, showing himself, signed and dated by him in Ostend, Belgium, 1910. Caricature is on a paper that is 4.75 x 5.75 inches and is attached to an autograph album page (sized 4.8 x 6.75 inches). Album page has some rust spots, not present in the actual caricature, and there is an unidentified signature on verso (see scans). All in very good condition. 

Caricature in ink, hand made by the star tenor. Caruso portrays himself, signs at the lower right corner and dates in 1912 in Munich, Germany - where he sang at the opera house in September of that year - all in his own writing. Mounted on an acid-free double mat (green and gold) together with a postcard of himself. Mat size is 14.75 x 11.5 inches, caricature is 5 x 6.25 inches (viewable window size), and photo postcard is 3.25 x 5.25 inches. In very fine condition, a beautiful set of 2 items, ready to frame - rare!!

Star Italian tenor (1873-1921), who was also an amateur caricaturist. Very visually striking caricature made and signed by him, depicting Salvatore Fucito (1875-1929) who was Caruso's vocal coach and accompanist from 1916 to 1921 and who later wrote a book about the great tenor. Caruso made an abbreviated signature  at the bottom right. Size is 5.25 x 8.25 inches, in excellent condition. 

Fantastic ink self-caricature of the star Italian tenor shown as Edgardo in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, made by himself on a sheet of paper with the letterhead of the Palace Hotel, San Francisco, California, signed boldly by him, dated in 1905. Caruso's note translates "Dear young lady, thank you for your postcards. Since I don't have any I will send you a sketch". ON VERSO there are two cards: one signed by Olive Fremstad and Alois Burgstaller with a half-tone image of him. This is where Caruso stayed the following year during the famous earthquake that hit the city, causing huge destruction.  Caricature page is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, attached to a black album page for a total size of 6.7 x 9.8 inches, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED are 2 black-and-white unsigned photographs of the tenor; each one is 7 x 9.3 inches, ink-stamped on verso by photographer Emini, Milan.  A very nice set to frame with the gorgeous caricature!

Italian tenor (1873-1921) who sang to great acclaim at the major opera houses of Europe and the Americas, appearing in a wide variety of roles from the Italian and French repertoires. A book with his caricatures published by La Follia di New York, 1908, 1st edition signed and inscribed by Caruso on the loose dedication page, dated in New York, 1916.  Size is 9.75 x 12.75 inches, 182 pages, full of illustrations (Caruso's caricatures and advertisements), hardcovers, evident wear, inside in very good condition. This book was also signed and inscribed by Caruso's father-in-law Park Benjamin in 1923 who inscribed this book to his friend Arthur Jerrems Jr. stating he received this book from Caruso himself as a souvenir. Books signed by Caruso are exceedingly rare and this one is also signed by his father-in-law!

Large decorative sheet from the Norddeutscher Lloyd, Bremen, the ship that carried the Metropolitan Opera cast of singers and crew on tour to Europe in May 1910. This most likely was signed during a dinner with the captain of the ship, as his signature is also there (see Capt. A. O. Cüppers over the upper right).  Signed by Enrico Caruso, Antonio Scotti, Geraldine Farrar, Emmy Destinn, Johanna Gadski, Louise Homer, Riccardo Martin, Otto Goritz, Mariska Aldrich, Olive Fremstad, Giulio Rossi, Alfred Hertz, Andres de Segurola, Pasquale Amato, Frank Pollock and Adolf Muhlmann - 17 signatures in total. Size is 6.75 x 10.75 inches, in very good condition!

Beautiful, rare gravure print by T. Sindelar in a gorgeous menu honoring Enrico Caruso by the Lotos Club in New York City, 1916. Menu depicts a group of Caruso images in his leading roles at the Metropolitan Opera, where he was the star tenor since 1903. Menu is signed in pencil by Caruso, framed with a double acid-free matting, in excellent condition. Rare / hard to find!

Truly amazing, signed place mat from the Lotos Club, February 1916, Dinner to Enrico Caruso, depicting a montage of the great tenor in various roles, with a listing of his repertoire and the menu for the gala dinner. Signed by Caruso, Victor Herbert and Giulio Gatti-Casazza who was the manager of the Metropolitan Opera for 27 years (1908-1935), plus 16 other unidentified signatures (mostly members of the club). Mounted on a mat, size is 21.5 x 18 inches (total mat size), item is 15.5 x 12 inches (visible window size). Item has a big, repaired crack over the top left, plus a few other, smaller, less visible cracks, overall condition is ok, priced accordingly.

Nice menu from the Hotel Cecil, London, where Caruso stayed many times when singing at the Royal Opera House. Signed by Caruso in pencil over the lower left corner, matted with a photo of Caruso in the role of Rigoletto. Menu is 8 x 5 inches (visible window size), photo is 4.3 x 6.25 inches (visible window size), total mat size is 11.8 x 16.25 inches, mat burn on the menu not visible when mounted on the mat, otherwise all in very good condition.
