A beautiful collection of letters, documents, lithographs, and memorabilia related to the French actress. This collection includes her original passport with many visas, stamps, and signatures, 6 autographs letters in French signed by her (no translation), 3 autograph notes handwritten by her in the third person but not signed, 3 original lithographs of her from her time, 1 carte-de-visite by photographer Mayern & Pierson, 3 original playbills from her time (Boston, London, Edinburgh), plus one modern print of her (which is the last scanned image). French actress (1821-1858), well known in her time as "Rachel", was a prominent figure in society, reputed to be the mistress of Napoleon III and other important figures. The first edition of the two-volume book "Memoirs of Rachel Felix" published by Hurst & Blackett (London) in 1858 right after her decease. Each volume's size is 5.25 x 7.8 inches, over 330 pages (vol.1), over 340 pages (vol.2); some signs of wear and cracks on the spine, original covers, handwritten text on the full title page by previous owner, in overall very good condition.

Absolutely gorgeous lithograph -an original by Ritter (Paris), depicting Felix in costume as Roxane in Jean Racine's play "Bajazet"; printed by Lemercie, and beautifully hand-colored and signed with black crayon by Henri Grevedon (1776-1860) in 1838. Size is 16.5 x 20.25 inches, some stains, repaired cracks, in overall very good condition. A stunningly beautiful item that will look great framed!

Lot of 16 unsigned cabinet-type photos from the Opera Comique and Theatre Italien, Paris, dated 1874-1875. Each one is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, some are dirty with dust, probably caused by water damage.  Singers names are: Adelina Patti, Alice Ducasse, Anna de Belocca, Berthe Thibaut, Emma Mauduit, Josephine Daram, Julia Hisson in L´Africaine, Marguerite Chapuy, Marie Breval, Marie Heilbron, Marie Miolan-Carvalho as Juliette in Romeo et Juliette (a role she created in the 1867 world premiere of this opera by Charles Gounod), Marie Roze as Marguerite in Faust,  Melanie Reboux, Pauline Gueymard-Lauters in La Coupe du roi de Thule, Rosine Bock in Il Trovatore and Zina Dalti. Scans may show some trimming on borders, actual items are not trimmed. Some rust at the bottom of the document but in generally good condition.
