In this letter, which sounds as a dedication, Gieseking inscribes some tender words for the Fournier’s family : “...Je regrette d’être incapable de mentir (dans ce cas particulier, au moins) puisque c’est vraiment un très grand plaisir de rencontrer les chers amis Fournier – …”. From the “Album amicorum of Lyda Fournier, wife of the cellist Pierre (1906-1986). Size is 4.4 x 6.7 inches, 1 page, in very good condition.
