Program for a recital of the Austrian soprano at SPAM -Sociedad ProArte Musical, Havana, Cuba, on November 12th, 1956, signed by her on the program page.  Size is 5.4 x 8.6 inches, 4 pages, some stains, otherwise in very good condition.

Austrian soprano (1917-1988) and Czech-born British conductor, teacher and pianist (1913-1980), double signed concert program from the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, dated in 1962. 12 pages in total, signatures are on front program page. Each page is 6 x 9 inches, in excellent condition. 

Austrian soprano (1917-1988), set of three typed letters signed and one signed photo. Each of the typed letters is written on large sheets of 8.25 x 11.5 inches with her letterhead on upper left and two bullet holes on the left. Two of these letters are dated in 1966 and one is dated in 1971. One of the 1966 letters contains six additional bullet holes, some of which cut away at the typed text. The other two letters are in fairly good condition with some wear on edges.  Also included: one signed photo, shown as herself, size is 4.75 x 6.75 inches in excellent condition, 2 typed recipes and 1 additional sheet of 8.25 x 11.5 inches, with both the typed names and handwritten signatures of both Hilde Guden and Lacy L. Herrmann.

Italian baritone (1914-1989).  Signed photograph, shown in the title role of Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia, inscribed and dated in Milan in 1954.  Signed on the front and stamped on verso by photographer Villani, Bologna. Italian dancer (1865-1942), choreographer, and ballet master. Very informative autograph letter signed in Italian, dated in Vichy, June 25, 1933, as Maitre de Ballet au Grand Casino, Guerra writes to the artistic Director of La Scala Nino Cattozzo concerning a Ballet proposition for the Theatre's upcoming season, as follows: “…Per la ventura stagione del teatro alla Scala ho l’onore di proporle il mio ballo “Siama”. Questo ballo fu rappresentato alla Scala stessa nel 1912. Ebbe esito brillante, tanto che fu replicato per ben trentatré sere (…) vide la luce della ribalta, la primissima volta, sulle scene del Teatro dell’opera di Budapest, ove il compianto Direttore Mingardi, venne a vederlo. (…) si tratta di uno spettacolo di ambiente prettamente giapponese (…) La musica è di autore ungherese, leggerina piuttosto ma aggraziata, melodiosa e ben instrumentata…”. Size is 8 x 10.6 inches, two written pages in one sheet (front and back), letterhead “Casino de Vichy”, storage holes, in very good condition.

Spanish composer (1895-1951), mostly of zarzuelas and orchestral works. Signed photo, with an autograph music quote from Los Gavilanes (The Sparrowhawks, 1924), inscribed and dated in 1949. Size is 4.5 x 6.75 inches. Signed on front and stamped on verso by photographer Saul, Madrid, in excellent condition.

Spanish composer (1895-1951), a prolific creator of zarzuelas. Fine photograph signed and inscribed by him, dated in 1933; ink-stamped on verso by photographer E. Yruela, Madrid. Size 3.75 x 5.25 inches, in excellent condition.

Spanish actress (1867-1928), producer and director, all her career was in theater (not in film), in zarzuelas, comedies and adaptations of Spanish classics. Together with her husband, she created the Teatro Cervantes in Buenos Aires (1921). Signed photo postcard, shown in role, size is 3.3 x 5.4 inches, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED are 2 photo postcards of her, signed by her husband, Spanish actor and impresario Fernando Diaz de Mendoza (1862-1930).

Famous Spanish theater actress, producer and director (1867-1928), founder of the large theater Cervantes, inaugurated in 1921 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and purchased by the government in 1926. Signed photo postcard, rare! Size is 3.5 x 5.25 inches, some trimming at bottom, with postmark and stamp, otherwise in excellent condition

French trumpeter (b.1984), a young, promising talent for the instrument, author of many recordings. Signed photo, shown on stage in performance, 5 x 7 inches

American sculptor (b.1929).  Pamphlet for an exhibition in 1976 at Venture, CA, USA, signed and inscribed by him.  Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, central fold, in very good condition.

Italian mezzo-soprano (1871-1948), who participated in the world premiere of Verdi's "Falstaff" and Catalani's "La Wally". Beautiful imperial cabinet photograph of her by G. Ogliari signed and inscribed by the singer with a short sentiment dated in Brescia, October 1896. Size is 6.6 x 9.75 inches, some mounting traces on verso, in very good condition.

French singer, dance, and actor (1915-1997), best-known for his role in the musical "An American in Paris" (1951).  Fine black and white photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, shown young.  Size is 3.3 x 5.2 inches, in excellent condition.

Argentinian marxist revolutionary (1928-1967), physician and author, a major player in the Cuban Revolution and currently a countercultural symbol of rebellion. Signed document, dated in April 1964, as a Minister of Industry of Cuba, naming an individual in a position inside the ministry. Guevara signs with a fountain pen, in blue ink, near the center of the document, under the text in capital letters "Motherland or Death, we will defeat" (in Spanish, "Patria o Muerte, Venceremos"). One sheet, with letterhead from the Ministry of Industry, central offices in La Habana, Cuba. Size is 8.25 x 12.5 inches, storage holes at the top, fold in the center, uniform rust stain covering most of the document, a few spotted stains, in overall very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a photograph of Guevara, 8.25 x 11 inches, a modern print/copy, in excellent condition.

Argentinian marxist revolutionary (1928-1967), and a major figure in the Cuban revolution in 1959, and the early post-revolution period. "Che" Guevara has become a world-wide symbol of rebellion and part of popular culture. Signed diploma, called Emulacion Socialista (Socialist Emulation), a sort of competition between institutions and individuals, where they received diplomas and awards for their contributions to their new society. This diploma, dated on July 13th, 1964, was given to a worker for this leading work in an undetermined, non-basic profession, and is signed on the lower left corner by Guevara as "Che", who was then minister of Industry in the new Cuba, plus 2 other signatures (one of an administrative secretary, one of a Sindicate secretary. Guevara signs representing the PURS (Partido Unido de la Revolución Socialista, or United Party of the Socialist Revolution). Size is 12 x 9.9 inches, some spotted stains and minor creases, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a photograph of him, 6.5 x 9.75 inches, a modern print of an old image of him. Rare, and highly sought-after by autograph collectors, this is a cool signature to have!

Autograph letter signed, 2 pages, written in French, sold untranslated. Signed as "Pauline Gueymard". Size is 5.25 x 8.25 inches, small stain on top of second page not affecting the text, otherwise in excellent condition.

Autograph letter signed, 3 pages, written in French, sold with a typed English translation. Signed as "Pauline Lauters". Size of each folded page is 5.25 x 8.25 inches, small stain on back page (fourth page without any text), otherwise in excellent condition. Also included: one unsigned half-tone photo, shown as herself, by photographer C. Reutlinger. Size is 3.75 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition. Not sold separately. 

Belgian mezzo-soprano (1834-1918), acclaimed for her brilliant career, and creator of the role Eboli in Verdi's "Don Carlo" in 1867 at the Paris Opera. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by her, dated in Paris, November 14, 1861, to a certain Maître: “…je voudrais vous faire entendre dans quelques jours une jeune fille que je protège et qui voudrait entrer dans les choeurs…”. Size is 5.4 x 8.3 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), printed letterhead, folds, age toning, in very good condition.  ALSO INCLUDED is a printed copy of the magazine “L’Univers Musicale” of 9th July 1863 with an article concerning the mezzo-soprano (not shown). 3 pp. In-4.
