Full program and libretto for the world premiere performances of Iris, opera by Pietro Mascagni, at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome in November 1898 (premiere date was November 22, 1898), which was also conducted by the composer. This program lists the full cast (including Ericlea Darclee in the title role, as well as Giuseppe Tischi-Rubini, Fernando de Lucia, and others), as well as the conductor, and contains the full Italian text of the opera.  Full program and libretto with all pages and covers, 5.75 x 7.75 inches, minor stains and rust on some pages but otherwise in very good condition. English stage actor (1838-1905) and American violinist (1866-1959), conductor, and educator. Fine menu page for a dinner in honor of Iriving hosted by the Lotos Club on November 16th, 1895, at the Supper Club, New York.  The Menu is signed in pencil or crayon by several personalities, including Irving and Mannes (who signed with a short music quote). Menu's size is 6.9 x 10.25 inches, 1 page, damage over the left border with loss of paper, minor cracks, in overall good condition.

Australian zookeeper, conservationist and television personality (1962-2006), Irwin hosted several popular animal and nature-related TV shows, and became known as "the crocodile hunter". He died in an accident while filming an underwater documentary.  Signed photo, shown with a small crocodile, size is 7.75 x 10 inches, in excellent condition.

Isabella I (1451-1504), Queen of Castile for the period 1474-1504, reigned over unified Spain with her husband Ferdinand II of Aragon- both are known today as the Catholic Monarchs. Among her most important achievements, they conquered back all of Spain from the Arabs, forced the expulsion of Muslims and Jews from Spain, and financially sponsored Christopher Columbus's 1492 voyage that will result in the discovery of the Americas for the old world!. Rare signed letter, dated in 1483, a very important year for the Spanish Inquisition since that was the year Torquemada was named the Great Inquisitor. The letter is addressed to a nobleman named Sancho de Vergara and mentions a meeting of the Queen with a knight, who will bring him a message. Letter was written by the Queen´s secretary, and signed by the Queen as "Yo, La Reina" ("I, the Queen"). Sold with 3 separate pages that include a full translation and transcription from old Spanish, plus a full description. Letter is 8.6 x 6 inches, folds, minor stains, in excellent condition.

Spanish tenor (1875-1951), whose real name was Manuel Izquierdo sang in Spain, Portugal, and South America and starred in the premiere of the opera ‘’Rose rosse’’ by Lebegott.  Fine photograph signed and inscribed by him, shown probably as Otello in Verdi's opera, dated in Modena, 1913; photo by P. Orlandi and sons photo studio, Modena.  Photo's size is 3 x 5.75 inches mounted onto hard cardboard for a total size of 5.5 x 9.5 inches; some small creases on cardboard edges and at the very bottom of the photo, otherwise in very good condition.

French Bass-baritone and voice teacher (1860-1930), his book signed by him on first page, inscribed to his friend Jules Martiny, who wrote a famous book on the history of the Theatre in Liege, Belgium.  Published in Brussels by Schott Freres, 1890 - first edition, 720 pages. Red leather, rubbed and worn, original wrappers bound in. Signed on first page by the authors, complete, a fine copy. Size is 7.9 x 11.25 inches. Also included is an unsigned half-tone photo of Isnardon, shown in Faust, mounted on light cardboard, total size is 6.9 x 10.5 inches.  Signed copies of this book are very rare.
