Hungarian composer, pianist, conductor and teacher (1811-1886). Autograph letter signed and dated by him in Weimar in 1855, a translation in a separate sheet is included. In this interesting short letter, Liszt turns down the offer to write a preface to a piano manual, giving "only relative praise to your manual of exercise for the piano, and in doing so I can not be sufficiently helpful for your purpose". One page, 8 x 5 inches, with some folds, in overall very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a beautiful cabinet photo of the composer, an original cabinet photo by J. Ganz, Brussels, 4.25 x 6.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Autograph letter written in French (sold untranslated) by the composer and pianist on a light blue-colored paper, signed by him, dated in 1858, addressed to an unknown lady. Size is 5 x 7.9 inches, 1 page, folds, in excellent condition.

Hungarian composer, pianist, conductor, and teacher (1811-1886). Wonderful autograph letter signed, dated in Weimar in 1860, in French, most probably to the son of French composer Hyppolyte-André-Jean-Baptiste Chélard (1789-1861), a friend of Liszt who was a well-established composer and conductor in Weimar. Chelard was probably ill and would die just a few months after this letter, Liszt is thanking Chelard´s son for a portrait of his father and speaking highly of him.  Bold, very clear signature, connecting the two great composers who shared conducting the same orchestra in Weimer. One sheet written on both sides, in French, sold with both full transcription and translation, 5.5 x 8.6 inches, folds, in very good condition.

ALSO INCLUDED is a colorized photo-print of the composer (probably from the 1930s).  Size is 8 x 10 inches, mounting traces on verso, in very good condition.  Ideal to frame with the music quote, if desired. Autograph Music Quotes by Liszt are extremely rare. This one is one of the finest seen in the market!

Hungarian composer, pianist, conductor and teacher (1811-1886). Autograph note signed, matted together with a nice CDV (carte-de-visite) photograph (photographer printed on verso "E. Neurdin, Editeur Photographe, Paris". Note reads in Liszt´s hand “Transcription by F. Liszt the songs of Robert Franz, ‘He is come’ by Kistner in Leipzig.". It is beautifully matted with a vintage CDV of the composer, ready to frame. Signed on first page by the star soprano, inscribed to one of her students, American singer Cecilia Mitchell.
