Nice postcard on the occasion of the world premiere of Leoncavallo's opera Zazá on November 10th, 1900, at Teatro Lirico (Milan) signed by the three artists plus Italian baritone Mario Sammarco and Italian tenor Edoardo Garbin -the creators of the roles, conductor, and composer of the opera. Program for a performance of the Russian pianist and Korean-American violinist at Carnegie Hall, New York, on November 17th, 2006, signed by both soloists, under the baton of conductor Kurt Masur (who apparently signed as well).  Size is 5.25 x 8.3 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in excellent condition.

Program for the International Piano Series at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, between October 2006 and June 2007, signed by star pianists such as Elisabeth Leonskaja, Nelson Freire (signed on the 4-page insert included), Nikolai Demidenko, Jonathan Biss, and Marc-André Hamelin. Beautifully hand-colored print of the scene "Les Amours d'une Rose" from the act IV of the ballet "La Fille du Diable" - A vaudeville Fantastique (1860) with music by Pierre-Jullien Nargeot (1799-1891). Size is 13 x 10.5 inches, central fold, some stains on margins, in good condition.

Vintage book "Les Danseuses de l'Opera: Costumes des Principaux Ballets" by artist Alophe with 14 hand-colored lithographs of leading ballerinas of the 1850s such as Marie Taglioni, Carolina Rosati, Amalia Ferraris, Adeline Plunkett, Eugenie Fiocre, Emma Livry, Louise Marquet, Zina Richard, Sophie Cassegran, and Vibon. Size is 10 x 13.2 inches, loss of paper over the lower-right corner of the front cover, inside in excellent condition. Extremely rare and sold at a bargain price!

Interesting lot of pictures of Les Hassan, a family of French acrobats and dancers. Lot with a total of 38 items (18 cabinet photos, 3 CDVs or Carte-de-Visite, 15 small photographs and 2 photo postcards), depicting different members of the family both in circus positions taken in studio and live in performance. Cabinet photos are from circa 1880 with brother and sister Ernest and Elisa Hassan, while the rest of the material is from a later period and depicts other family members. A page with some handwritten information accompanying this lot is provided (see scan). Cabinet photos by important photographers in Paris, each one is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, CDVs are 2.5 x 4 inches, photos are 2.5 x 3.75 inches (sizes vary), and postcards are 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Original vintage poster from 1885, designed by Paul Maurou (1848-1931), size is 22 x 30 inches (56 x 76.2 cm), imp. Lemercier & Cie., Paris. Sepia-tones image advertising one of the many performances of this comic opera based on Alexandre Dumas´ classic The Three Musketeers. This was a particularly successful version of this opera. In very good condition, minor tears and stains, primarily at edges.

Austrian-Polish pianist and composer (1830-1915), very important figure as a music pedagogue. Handwritten and signed note of a postcard with a portrait of him, dated in 1899. Note was written in German, sold untranslated. Size is 5.5 x 3.5 inches, creases, otherwise in very good condition.

Autograph letter in English signed by him, dated Oct. 11, 1880, to the editor of “The Girls’ Own Paper”: «...Herewith I enclose my article on part-singing and shall be obliged by seeing a proof before it is issued. I shall be here all this week, and will return it on the day I receive it...». Size is 3.9 x 5.9 inches, 1 page, printed letterhead, some rust stains over upper-left corner, some creases at the bottom, in overall very good condition (see scan provided).
