Canadian bass-baritone (1920-1985), one of the leading artists in Italian, German, French and Russian repertoire in the 1950s and early 1960s. Large signed photograph, shown in the title role of Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov, one of his most celebrated roles, inscribed and dated in 1953. Size is 7.25 x 10.25 inches, photograph is on solid wood backing, very slight paper loss at top edges, otherwise in excellent condition.

Spanish pianist and composer (1893-1968), also known as Federico Longas Torres, signed photograph, shown young, inscribed with sentiment, dated in Buenos Aires in 1930. Hand signed on front and stamped on verso by photographer L. Sudak, Buenos Aires. Size is 6.5 x 8.75 inches, there is a bend in the middle and small rust on verso, otherwise in very good condition.

Etching combined with engraving, an original print by Giuseppe Longhi (1766-1831), depicting Pan & Syrinx in a scene of the story by Roman poet Ovid, where the lusty satyr Pan pursues the nymph Syrinx, who would transform into reeds to escape him. Late 17th/early 18th century, 14.5 x 11.75 inches, fold in the center, in excellent condition, rare and ready to frame if desired.

American screenwriter (1889-1981), playwright and author, mostly known for her successful novel "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes". Loos wrote many of the Douglas Fairbanks silent films. This book was later adapted twice for film, once for a silent 1928 film, then in 1953 for the famous movie with Marilyn Monroe. Signed book, published by Brentano´s, Ltd., London, one of a limited edition of 1000 books, each signed by the author, 1926. Book is signed twice, once on the dedication page, with a small drawing, and inscribed probably to her husband, film director John Emerson (1874-1956), and once on the opposite page (see scans). Hardcovers, gilded edges, with illustrations by Ralph Barton, 217 numbered pages. Size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, some water damage at the bottom with some pages at the end glued at the bottom, in good condition.

Estonian-born American composer and teacher (1903-1976). Autograph letter in English signed by him, dated July 11, 1944, to the Hungarian pianist and composer Ernö Balogh (1897-1989): «...Although we are in the country we think with envy of your air-conditioned apartment (...) You will be pleased to know that both business transactions which you so kindly sponsored are brought to a successful end. Both little pieces go to DELKAS and I went to ASCAP. Besides, I am engaged on my latest business, the concertino, which is progressing slowly but steadily...». Size is 7.8 x 9.8 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), folds, otherwise in excellent condition.

Argentine composer (1881-1948) whose works were inspired by native music and was the founder of the National Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires.  Autograph music quote with 2 bars of music on a postcard, signed by him, dated in Buenos Aires, 1904.  Size is 5.5 x 3.5 inches, a couple of ink stains over the right border not affecting the autograph, otherwise in excellent condition.
