Program for a performance of the Leningrad Symphony Orchestra on tour at the Royal Festival Hall, London, on September 20th, 1960, conducted by the celebrated Russian conductor, signed by him on his photo page.  Program is also signed by the star Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich on the front cover. Size is 7.2 x 9.6 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in very good condition.

Evgeny Mravinsky signs under large photograph conducting (19 x 12 cm!), David Oistrakh signs cover Leningrad Philharmonic First American Tour in 1960. Many photographs. 23 x 31 cm, 16 pages. Mravinsky autographs are very scarce.

Polish actress (1880-1966).  Large signed photo shown in role, dated in Varese, 1910.  Photo is mounted on a photographer mat by Carlo De Marchi, Milan.  Total size is 10.25 x 15.8 inches, actual photo is 6.5 x 9.3 inches, loss of paper on corners, some tape residues on top of photo and spotted rust, in very good condition.

German-born conductor (1859-1940) who based his career principally in Europe and mostly in opera. Fine photo postcard signed by him with a short 5-bar music quote dated 1898. Size is 5.5 x 3.6 inches, in excellent condition.

German conductor (1859-1940) whose activities were based in Europe and the USA and mostly in opera. He was arrested and interned in a camp in Georgia in 1918-1919 due to a public outcry in 1917 questioning his loyalty to Germany or the USA during World War I. Signed photograph, inscribed, with a long sentiment dated in Berlin, 1911. Size is 7.6 x 10.6 inches, minor silvering over borders, minor mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition.

English cellist (1880-1963), Muckle was one of the very first women playing the cello to gain international reputation and developing an important career outside her home country. Mucke was sometimes called by the press "the female Casals". Signed photo, 6.5 x 8.25 inches, inscribed. Trimmed from original size, stamped on verso by photographers Underwood & Underwood, New York, small crease over the lower right, otherwise in very good condition.

Yesterday evening I returned from Venice, where I attended the premiere of Nemea by [Ernesto] Coop, our dear friend, and I can assure you that the success was splendid. Yesterday I passed through Florence, where I found your dear letter – I am writing at once to Ferdinando on the subject – he hoped that through you we could have the internal place for Arturo – I am sure that you will have done everything in your power to favor me, so let it be from this moment on that I am obliged to pay with you the seven and fifty lire per month that are necessary (if in doing this you will see that it will be possible to profit by and I thank you sincerely for the great kindness shown to me on this and other occasions..." Size is 5.2 x 8.1 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), spotted rust stains, central fold, creases, in overall very good condition.

Autograph music quote signed, with 4 bars from his opera Vita Brettona, dated in 1905. One album page that is 4.75 x 7.5 inches, in very good condition.

Mugnone conducted the world premiere of Tosca (Puccini), Mese Mariano (Giordano) and others, plus many Italian premieres of operas. Signed wooden baton, dated in Buenos Aires in 1910, where he conducted at the Teatro de la Opera. Baton is 17 inches long, approx. 0.5 inches thick on one end and narrows to just 0.2 inches in the other end. In excellent condition, signature is faint but visible, date is more clear. ALSO INCLUDED is a very nice note handwritten and signed by Mugnone (Item # M3127-R5-9), with indications for the chorus master on the score for the opera Ugonotti (Italian version of Les Huguenots by Meyerbeer). Two pages, with signature at the bottom of the 2nd page, in Italian, sold untranslated. Mugnone points 19 cuts in the score to the chorus master. Size is 8 x 10 inches, has folds, otherwise in excellent condition. See scans.
