Italian pianist (1835-1860), also known as "the elder", brother of another pianist with the same name but born in 1862.   Rare autograph letter in Italian (sold untranslated) signed by him addressed to his music editor, dated in Genova, 1854.  Size is 4.9 x 7.5 inches, 1 page, in excellent condition.

Dutch pianist (1887-1964) and composer, whose compositional output was small due to the demands of performance and teaching, but he was nonetheless awarded a number of compositional prizes in Belgium and the Netherlands. Signed photo on a program page, with a short music quote from Mozart´s piano concerto KV459. Photo page comes with some other pages from an incomplete program for a concert on Oct 13th, 1940 with the Concertgebouw Orchestra under Willem Mengelberg. German pianist (1849-1896), organist, conductor, and music critic.  Beautiful mini cabinet-style photograph by E. Bieber, Hamburg; signed by the pianist with a long sentiment, dated in 1888.  Size is 2.5 x 4.1 inches, damage on two corners, otherwise in very good condition.

Star Chilean pianist (1903-1991), one of the greatest of the 20th century. Black-and-white half-tone photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment dated in Buenos Aires, July 1941; ink-stamped on verso by photographer Carmen (Buenos Aires). Size is 4.8 x 6.4 inches, pinholes over the upper-left corner, otherwise in excellent condition.

German pianist (1884-1969) and pedagogue, particularly well known for his interpretations of Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin, and Brahms. Autograph on a card with a 3-bar music quote signed by him with a short sentiment, dated February 22, 1935. Size is 5.25 x 3.9 inches, some smudge on ink, otherwise in very good condition. Signature matted with a photo, total size is 8.25 x 11.75 inches, signature is 3.5 x 1.5 inches (visible window size), photo postcard is 3.25 x 5 inches (visible window size), excellent, ready to frame.

Czech-born pianist (b.1931), one of the greatest of his generation. Stunning black-and-white photograph signed by him, his son Adrian, plus Katharine Gowers, Lucy Jeal, and Douglas Paterson. Size is 7.3 x 4.9 inches, in excellent condition.

Austrian pianist (b.1931), and British conductor (b.1955). Nice color photograph signed by both artists, shown after a public performance; sticker on verso by photographer Terry, Vienna.  Size is 7.2 x 5 inches, in excellent condition.

Famous English piano impresario and manufacturer (1811-1893), the grandson of John Broadwood (1732-1812), who in 1774 founded the famous piano manufacturing company Broadwood & Sons. Henry took over in 1836, taking the company to a new level. Autograph note signed, to German music critic Eduard Hanslick (1825-1904), one sheet handwritten on both sides with signature on verso, undated, in English. Size is 4.5 x 7 inches, sold untranscribed, in excellent condition. Broadwood thanks Hanslick for a present (a book or brochure), expressing his wish to get the opportunity to thank him in person.

Moravian pianist and composer (1846-1907), who lived and worked in Vienna, and performed many times next to Brahms. Autograph music quote signed, dated in Vienna in 1896, two bars from music from an unknown piece. Size is 7 x 4.5 inches, in very good condition.

Russian-American pianist (1909-1995), well-known for his performances of the romantic repertoire and virtuoso technique. Fine black-and-white photograph signed by him, shown at the piano. Size is 6.5 x 10 inches, in excellent condition.

Czech pianist (1832-1907), to whom Franz Liszt dedicated two works. Autograph letter in French signed by her, no date, to a friend: “…Je vois que vous êtes en plein de votre déménagement et je viens vous prier de ne pas vous gênez por nos jours si cela doit contribuer à vos fatigues…”.  Size is 4.4 x 5.7 inches, 1 page, overall rust tone, in very good condition.

American pianist (1934-2014) who, at the age of 23, achieved worldwide recognition when he won the inaugural International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1958. Beautiful black-and-white photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment dated on August 27, 2007, shown young in performance. Size is 7.9 x 9.9 inches, in very good condition

British pianist (1895-1967), very popular in the 1920s and 1930s. Nice half-tone black-and-white photograph signed by her. Size is 3.75 x 4.6 inches, in excellent condition.

French pianist (1877-1962), conductor, and teacher who was one of the most renowned classical musicians of the 20th century. Autograph letter in French signed by him, dated in 1958, sent to the Fournier family, complimenting Pierre Fournier's son Jean-Pierre, and mentioning some of his future professional plans. Size is 5.8 x 8.2 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), sold untranslated, in very good condition.

French pianist (1877-1962), conductor, and teacher who was one of the most renowned classical musicians of the 20th century. Album page from his "Album Amicorum" signed by him and inscribed to madame Lydia Pierre Fournier, wife of the renowned cellist Pierre Fournier (1906-1986), on a sheet from his “Album Amicorum”. Size is 4.4 x 6.7 inches, overall rust tone, in very good condition.Below Cortot's inscription, there are two lines in blue ink signed by Friedrich Gulda (1930-2000), who inscribes a second dedication to Madame Fournier.

Italian pianist (1865-1933), founder of the Quintetto Romano. Autograph note in Italian signed by him with a short music quote, dated in Rome, 1925. Size is 5.25 x 6.75 inches, in very good condition.

Scottish-born German pianist (1864-1932) and composer. Autograph music quote signed in 1890 in Omaha, Nebraska (USA), with four bars from an unknown piece in an album page. Size is 7.5 x 5.9 inches, attached to a slightly large album page, in very good condition.

Belgian pianist and composer (1833-1914), son of the celebrated Belgian violinist Charles De Beirot (1802-1870). Front cover only of the printed score for his Piano Concerto #4 signed and inscribed by the composer with a short sentiment. Size is 10.6 x 13.75 inches, some cracks, stains, in overall good condition.

Belgian pianist and composer (1862-1940) and also a teacher.  Short autograph music quote on an album page, with 3 bars of music from an unknown piece, signed, inscribed and dated by him in Bournemouth, England, 1927.  Size is 7.5 x 4.75 inches, in excellent condition.

Russian-German pianist (1848-1933), especially noted for performing the works of Chopin and for his eccentric performing style. 2-bar Autograph music quote mounted on hard cardboard signed and inscribed by him to his fellow pianist Louis Bachner, dated in Berlin 1906. Size is 6.7 x 4.4 inches, in good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a vintage photograph of De Pachmann. Size is 4.2 x 5.8 inches, trimmed from a larger format, mounting traces on verso, in very good condition.

Autograph letter in French (sold untranslated) with his monogram as letterhead, signed by him, dated 1895. Size is 4.4 x 7 inches, 4 written pages, rust stains, folds, in very good condition.

Czech pianist (1844-1925). Beautiful carte-de-visite of the pianist by M.L. Winter (Prague), signed and inscribed by Dittrich, dated on verso in Prague, October 11th, 1866. Size is 2.3 x 4.1 inches, in excellent condition.

Russian-born Norwegian conductor (1891-1953) and pianist, whose career began as a pianist but moved to conducting in the  mid-1920s. Grogeous black and white photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, dated in Los Angeles, 1935.  Size is 5.3 x 7.4 inches, mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition.

American organist and composer (1851-1937), CDV or carte-de-visit photograph of an unidentified musician, with Eddy's signature on verso, inscribed and dated in Berlin in 1872. An original photo by Heinrich Graf, Berlin, size is 2.5 x 4 inches, in excellent condition.

Austrian pianist (1815-1868) and wife of the celebrated violinist Henry Vieuxtemps, mostly known as "Madame Vieuxtemps", who used to perform accompanying her husband in his concerts.  Autograph letter signed by her, written by both sides in English, dated in London, 1861, about personal matters.  Size is 5.3 x 8.25 inches, 1 page, minor loss of paper on corners and folds, in overall very good condition.

German pianist (1847-1916) and composer, a pupil of Franz Liszt. Autograph note in German (sold untranslated) signed by her, dated in Vienna, 1881. Size is 4.3 x 6.8 inches, 1 page, minor stains, otherwise in excellent condition.

Russian-born American pianist (1878-1936) noted for the elegance and subtlety of his performances. Typed letter in English signed by him about business matters and dated October 26, 1933. Size is 8.4 x 10.8 inches, Detroit Symphony Orchestra letterhead, folds, otherwise in excellent condition.

French-born German pianist (1895-1956), renowned for his subtle touch, pedaling, and dynamic control -particularly in the music of Debussy and Ravel. Autograph note in French signed by him, dated 1953, plus a specimen of dried mountain flowers applied with tape on an album sheet, with a note in the hand of Lyda Fournier “Promenade en Engadin 1951”. The French-born pianist was the son of a German doctor and lepidopterist, and himself had a collection of butterflies and moths. In this letter, which sounds as a dedication, Gieseking inscribes some tender words for the Fournier’s family : “...Je regrette d’être incapable de mentir (dans ce cas particulier, au moins) puisque c’est vraiment un très grand plaisir de rencontrer les chers amis Fournier – …”. From the “Album amicorum of Lyda Fournier, wife of the cellist Pierre (1906-1986). Size is 4.4 x 6.7 inches, 1 page, in very good condition.

Size is 3.75 x 5.75 inches, light folds over the four corners due to previous framing, otherwise in excellent condition.

Italian composer and pianist (1895-1938), who migrated to the US and was a member of the famous Elshuco Trio. Giorni was also an accomplished piano concertist and educator. His career ended short when he committed suicide at age 43. Large size photo mounted on mat (11.5 x 15.75 inches total size), shown young, by the photographer W.C. Noetzel (who also signed, in pencil), inscribed and dated in 1915. Giorni adds 3 bars from his Fantasia op. 21.  ALSO INCLUDED is a short autograph music quote by this artist, with 3 bars from an Andante for String Quartet, plus a program for a memorial concert held after his death, in 1938. Music quote is 6.25 x 7 inches, program is 4 pages, 5.5 x 8 inches, all in excellent condition.

French-born English pianist (1836-1922), one of the first pianists to play recitals from memory. Card with her signature (probably the last part of a letter attached to a larger piece of paper). Card is 5.25 x 1.2 inches in size, in good condition. RARE.

German pianist, composer, and conductor (1829-1907), known for his piano concertos and other piano pieces; and married star soprano Jenny Lind. Autograph music quote signed, inscribed with a short sentiment, dated in Rome in 1892. Size is 5 x 7.75 inches, in very good condition.

Austrian pianist and composer (1852-1924). 1-bar autograph music quote from an Andante con moto from his Romanze Op.45 signed by him, dated in Vienna, May 30, 1915. Size is 4.4 x 3.3 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a printed sketch depicting the pianist in performance with his facsimile signature. Size is 3.8 x 4 inches, in excellent condition.
