Famous American violinist (1888-1953), who became later in his life teacher and composer. Autograph music quote signed by him with two bars from an Andante from Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, dated March 22, 1912. Unknown signature and date on verso. Size is 5.7 x 3.5 inches, left border irregularly cut, in overall very good condition.

Famous American violinist (1888-1953), who became later in his life teacher and composer.  Large photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment in Italian, dated in Lugano, 1913.  Photo is blind-stamped on the front by photographer Matzeme, Chicago, USA.  Size is 9.9 x 13.3 inches, creases over the lower-left corner, some dust stains on the bottom, still in very good condition.

British cellist (1871-1963), composer, and music professor. Autograph music quote signed by him on a small album page with 3 bars from "In An Old-Fashioned Town" -one of his songs (1914).  Size is 5.7 x 3.5 inches, cut corners, in excellent condition.

Austrian violinist (1835-1899) and also the leader of the Halle Orchestra in Manchester, U.K. Autograph music quote signed and dated in London, 1882. Size is 7 x 4.4 inches, rust stains, otherwise in very good condition.

French violinist (1806-1888), conductor, composer, and collector. Set of two autograph letters in French (untranslated) signed by him, as follows: A. Le 17 Mars 72. To a journalist: “…Je vous serai fort obligé de vouloir bien dans votre compte rendu du Bal donné hier au soir au Ministère de l’Intérieur, mentionner mon nom comme Chef d’orchestre…”.  B. Jeudi. French violinist (1787-1862), composer, and music teacher who invented a musical language called La Langue Musicale Universelle. Set of two autograph letters signed by the French violinist, as follows: A. Paris, May 28, 1847, to Mr. Mahérant, "Master of Requests and Deputy Director of Personnel and Military Operations": "... Allow me to beg you to grant me a moment's audience and you will oblige the one who has the honor to be with high consideration...". Size is 6.9 x 8.8 inches, folds, overall rust stains, in very good condition. B. March 19, 1849, to Mr. Monfrein: "... I still have recourse to your kindness to extricate me from a painful uncertainty relative to the journey to Orleans. On the 6th of March, M. [Alexandre-Eugène] de Chancourtois wrote to me to inform him of the prize that had been made with the musical societies that had called me. I replied to him at once, as he seemed to wish in his letter, and told him that the last of these companies was that of Le Mans, which had offered me 500 francs for... that... Hugot and for me. But I added that because of the circumstances and to smooth out any difficulties that might arise, we would be content with 400 francs...". Size is 5.2 x 8.1 inches, two written pages in one sheet (front and verso), folds, in very good condition. Polish-Mexican violinist (1918-1988) who enjoyed an outstanding solo performer career. LP Record for Beethoven's Violin Concerto performed by Henryk Szerynk signed by him on the front cover in 1971. Size is 12.25 x 12.25, inches, record included (not tested), in very good condition.

Hungarian virtuoso violinist (1892-1973), who also distinguished himself as a strong advocate of new music. Autograph letter in French signed by him, dated 1961 (postal marks) to Jean-Pierre Fonda (a.k.a. Jean-Pierre Fournier, son of the cellist Pierre), at that time pupil of the pianist Géza Anda: “…Tu pourras à l’occasion dire à Géza qu’il existe encore un autre Brahms…” [referring to his recording].  Size is 5 x 7.9 inches, central fold, envelope included, otherwise in excellent condition.

Russian quartet who made its first appearance in the Small Hall of the Leningrad Conservatory in the winter of 1946. Their LP record performing string quartets by Bartok and Shostakovich signed by all four members. Size is 12.25 x 12.25 inches, record included (not tested), in very good condition.

French violinist (1846-1925), composer, and educator. Autograph letter signed by him, written in French (sold untranslated).  Size is 4.3 x 6.75 inches each page, 2 pages, folds, small amount of spotted rust, in very good condition.

Hungarian violinist (1892-1988). Album page signed by the violinist attached with a half-tone photograph of him from a newspaper or magazine.  Total size is 5.7 x 7.8 inches, in excellent condition.

British virtuoso violinist (1906-1992) and also conductor and educator. Fantastic black-and-white photograph signed by him, shown with his violin, dated by him in London, 1936.  Size is 3.25 x 5.4 inches, in very good condition.

Italian violinist (1832-1878), conductor, chapelmaster, and music critic. Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by him and dated 1877 addressed to his colleague Antonio Cagnoni (1828-1896) requesting him to forward some sacred works to be performed at an upcoming religious holiday. Open size is 10 x 8.3 inches, 4 written pages in one folded sheet, crack over the upper border, overall rust stains, otherwise in very good condition.

German violinist (b.1966) and Norwegian pianist (b.1970).  Informal larger size color photo signed by the two artists, sharing a hug after a performance.  Size is 8 x 11.6 inches, in excellent condition.

Belgian violinist, composer, and teacher (1857-1931), one of the most important of his generation. 1-bar autograph music quote on an album page signed by him and dated in Montevideo, Uruguay, 1903. Size is 4.75 x 6.6 inches, in excellent condition.

Prominent Italian violinist (1866-1956) who demonstrated her musical talents from an early age.  Signature inscribed with a short sentiment on an album page matted with a portrait of her (modern copy).  Signature cut is 3.9 x 2.4 inches in size (visible window size), portrait is 4.5 x 7.5 inches in size, for a total mat size of 7.7 x 13.75 inches, in very good condition.

French-born child prodigy violinist (1840-1902), who became an American musician, considered one of the finest violinists of the latter half of the 19th century. 1.75 x 4.25 inch signature cut on a 6.5 x 8.25 album page, envelope is also included. Verso side contains a message to Urso from the legendary German composer and conductor Max Bruch giving the tempo markings for various movements in one of his Violin Concertos that she was scheduled to perform. Rare vintage item in excellent condition!

Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated April 21, 1867, to a gentleman, concerning a possible collaboration after his publication for the recent Exposition Universelle: “…En feuillettant votre publication illustrée « l’exposition universelle », l’idée me vient de vous écrire et de vous faire mes offres de services, dans le cas où vous auriez besoin de comptes-rendus touchant la musique à l’exposition. C’est surtout au moment de grands Festivals et des concerts historiques qu’il appartiendra à votre intéressante publication de ne pas délaisser un art vraiment universel…”. Autograph letter written in English about his career signed by him, no date (letterhead indicates address in Paris).  3 written pages in one sheet, each page's size is 4.25 x 6.75 inches sold with transcription, central fold, in very good condition.

Czech violinist and music pedagogue (1853-1926). Lot of 2 autograph letters signed by him, one written in Berlin, the other in Carlsbad, both from 1899 and regarding his students.
