Swiss-born violinist (b. 1976), signed color photo, shown with her instrument. Size is 5 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

Prominent Italian violinist (1866-1956) who demonstrated her musical talents from an early age.  Signature inscribed with a short sentiment on an album page matted with a portrait of her (modern copy).  Signature cut is 3.9 x 2.4 inches in size (visible window size), portrait is 4.5 x 7.5 inches in size, for a total mat size of 7.7 x 13.75 inches, in very good condition.

French-born child prodigy violinist (1840-1902), who became an American musician, considered one of the finest violinists of the latter half of the 19th century. 1.75 x 4.25 inch signature cut on a 6.5 x 8.25 album page, envelope is also included. Verso side contains a message to Urso from the legendary German composer and conductor Max Bruch giving the tempo markings for various movements in one of his Violin Concertos that she was scheduled to perform. Rare vintage item in excellent condition!

Russian-born Israeli violinist (b.1974). Fine color studio photograph signed by him. Size is 7.9 x 10.1 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian violinist (1880-?). Fine vintage cabinet photograph of the violinist by photographer A. Sotteri (Genova) signed and inscribed by Venturini with a short sentiment dated 1899, shown at a very young age. Size is 4.2 x 6.4 inches approx., rust stains, in overall very good condition.

Italian violinist and composer (1755-1824), a famous virtuoso of his time and an important composer for the violin, later in life, opera director. Printed score for his Violin Concerto in G, version adapted for the piano, opus WIa:7, adapted by pianist J.L. Dussek from his violin concerto WI:23. Signed by him over the lower right corner of the front cover page. A total of 22 pages plus front cover, 9.4 x 12.2 inches. Printed for the author and sold by Clementi and Co., London. Some ink annotations by another hand at the top right and near the signature, over the lower right corner, probably former ownership. Probably had original covers that are now missing, in overall very good condition. 

Czech jazz bassist (b.1947), with an extensive career in the United States. Signed photo, shown with his instrument. Size is 5 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

French violinist (1841-1906) and composer. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated April 21, 1867, to a gentleman, concerning a possible collaboration after his publication for the recent Exposition Universelle: “…En feuillettant votre publication illustrée « l’exposition universelle », l’idée me vient de vous écrire et de vous faire mes offres de services, dans le cas où vous auriez besoin de comptes-rendus touchant la musique à l’exposition. C’est surtout au moment de grands Festivals et des concerts historiques qu’il appartiendra à votre intéressante publication de ne pas délaisser un art vraiment universel…”. Size is 5.4 x 8.4 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), creases, folds, embossed letterhead, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED are two autograph letters signed by Charles Triveillot, secretary to the magazine “La Causerie Dramatique Musicale” and by journalist at “La Gazette Musicale” Mathieu de Monthey. 

French violinist (1841-1906), composer, and stage director. Autograph note in French (untranslated) signed by him, no date, to a music copyst: “…Vous pouvez garder jusqu’à demain 6 hrs le 1er violon, la basse et l’alto mais veiullez me renvoyer le 2° violon ce soir…”.  Size is 5.3 x 8.5 inches, 1 page, creases, folds, in overall very good condition.

German-born classical cellist (b.1964). A cello prodigy, at the age of twenty he won the principal cello position of the Staatskapelle Dresden, becoming the youngest concertmaster in the history of this orchestra. Signed promo photo in excellent condition! Size 4 x 5.75 inches.

English cellist (1870-1953), and German musicologist (1861-1931. Album page signed by the cellist and the musicologist above mentioned, as well as the French mezzo-soprano Blanche Marchesi plus two unidentified signers.  Size is 5.6 x 7.7 inches, 1 page, minor folds, glue residues on the back, otherwise in very good condition.

German violinist (1847-1901) and teacher, associated with Richard Strauss and Richard Wagner. Autograph  note in German (untranslated) signed by him in 1900 on a card. Size is 5.5 x 3.5 inches, in very good condition.

Chinese cellist (b.1968).  Larger size color photograph signed by the artist, shown during a rehearsal.  Size is 8.25 x 11.7 inches, in excellent condition.

German violinist (b.1976), sister of the composer and clarinettist Jorg Widmann and a celebrated performer of contemporary music. Signed photo, 5 x 7 inches, in excellent condition

Polish virtuoso violinist (1835-1880) and Polish pianist (1837-1912). Set of two autograph letters, as follows: one letter is written in French (sold untranslated) signed by Henryk, dated in Brussels, March 13th, 1860, about music matters; size is 5.25 x 8.3 inches, 1 sheet, folds, in excellent condition. The second letter is written in German (sold untranslated) signed by Joseph, dated in Brussels, October 6th, 1894; size is 4.8 x 7.9 inches, 1 sheet. Autographs by Henryk Wieniawski are extremely rare! SOLD TOGETHER, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

Polish virtuoso violinist (1835-1880), one of the greatest violin composers of the 2nd. half of the 19th century.  Rare autograph music quote signed by him with 2 bars with handwritten text about autographs expressing his concern he can be criticized for any possible orthographic mistake. The music quote is an exercise for violin mastering adding a quote saying "1050 times before breakfast and the same number after dinner", showing his sense of humor. Size is 7.4 x 4.5 inches, probably cut from an album page with part of someone's else autograph on the top, minor rust stains on the edges, otherwise in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned modern sepia photo postcard of the violinist. Size is 3.3 x 5.25 inches, in excellent condition.

Polish virtuoso violinist (1835-1880), one of the greatest violin composers of the 2nd. half of the 19th century.  4-bar autograph music quote from his piece for violin "Legende" signed by him and dated in Albany, 1873. Size is 5.25 x 3.4 inches, loss of paper over the two upper corners, central fold, in overall very good condition.

Polish violinist (1835-1880), composer, and pedagogue, regarded among the most distinguished violinists in history. Fine 2-bar autograph music quote from his Faust Fantasy for Violin signed by him on a card in Springfield, May 8th, 1873, during his American tour. Size is 5.25 x 2.8 inches, rust stains over the borders, otherwise in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned photo postcard of the composer. Size is 3.4 x 5.3 inches, in excellent condition.

German violinist (1845-1908) and teacher, a child prodigy, Wilhelmj toured extensively with success, created arrangements for the violin and later in his life was a teacher in London. Original signed cabinet photo by Elliott & Fry, London; attached on front with a signature cut by him, inscribed and dated in London, 1900. Cabinet photo is 4.25 x 6.5 inches in size, some damage on corners and inscription seems to have been erased. ALSO INCLUDED is a 3-pages autograph letter signed, written in German (sold untranslated), dated in London, 1875. Size is 5 x 8 inches each page, mounting traces on verso, folds, otherwise in excellent condition. NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

Album page signed by him in 1887, attached with a small half-tone photograph of him. Size is 8.7 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

German violinist (1842-1923), a pupil of Johann Friedrich Kittl and Moritz Mildner. His beautiful autograph signature on a piece of paper, dated in Berlin, March 11, 1891, mounted on black cardboard. Total size is 6.2 x 4 inches, some rust stains, in very good condition.

Dutch violinist (1861-1931), virtuoso, and also a composer. Autograph letter written in English about his career signed by him, no date (letterhead indicates address in Paris).  3 written pages in one sheet, each page's size is 4.25 x 6.75 inches sold with transcription, central fold, in very good condition.

Belgian virtuoso violinist (1858-1931), composer, and conductor; regarded as "the king of the violin". Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, no date, to a certain Charlier, with some comments on music. Size is 4.4 x 6.9 inches, 4 written pages in one folded sheet, central fold, minor stains, jagged edges, in very good condition.

Belgian virtuoso violinist (1858-1931), composer, and conductor; regarded as "The King of the Violin". Autograph music quote with 3 bars from the Rondó of Lalo's Symphonie Esgagnole signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment in French, dated in New York 1913, to Rene Rice. Size is 7.6 x 6.4 inches, in excellent condition.

Russian violinist (1879-1953), latter became a British citizen in 1915, he was an important student of Sevcik in Prague and with Ysaye in Brussels. Signed photo postcard. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Czech violinist and music pedagogue (1853-1926). Lot of 2 autograph letters signed by him, one written in Berlin, the other in Carlsbad, both from 1899 and regarding his students. Both sold with an English translation on a separate page. Sizes are 5 x 8 inches and 5 x inches, both are on one page, in very good condition.

Russian violinist (1890-1985), one of the world´s most prominent concert violinists and a long-time director of the Curtis Institute of Music. Signature matted together with a photo of him, size is 3.25 x 2 inches (signature, dated by him in 1934), 2.75 x 4.25 (photo), total mat size is 8.25 x 11.75 inches, ready to frame

American cellist (1862-1950) and founder of the Zoellner Quartet in 1904, considered the most celebrated chamber music ensemble of the first quarter of the XX century. 2-bar autograph music quote from a piece by Beethoven on an album page attached with a clip from a magazine featuring the four members of the quartet, signed by him. Size is 5.9 x 4.4 inches, storage holes, in very good condition.

Argentine violinist (1912-1991), who had an important career in his native country and also toured in the USA. Fine black-and-white photograph shown young in performance, signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment in Spanish, dated in Santa Fe (ARG), 1945. Photo is ink-stamped on verso by concert agent "Conciertos Daniel". Size is 3.6 x 5.6 inches, in excellent condition.

Star Israeli-born violinist, violist, and conductor (b.1948), who made his New York debut in 1963 and in 1967 shared the Leventritt Prize with Korean violinist Myung-Wha Chung. Great color promo photograph signed by him. Size 8 x 9.75 inches, in excellent condition.
