Polish composer and pianist (1882-1937), member of the modernist Young Poland movement that flourished in the late 19th and early 20th century. Autograph letter in French (sold untranslated) signed by him, no date mentioned, about personal matters. Size is 5.2 x 7.1 inches, 1 page, mat burn marks, otherwise in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a half-tone photograph of the composer in his youth. Size is 5.9 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1898-1979), who wrote music on American subjects, and is best known for his Symphony #3. Card with a 5-bar music quote from an unknown piece signed by the composer with a short sentiment, dated December 29, 1932. Size is 6.25 x 4.3 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned half-tone photograph of the composer (probably a clip from a magazine or book). Size is 4.1 x 4.7 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1923-1983), teacher, and administrator. Lengthy autograph 5-bar music quote from his Symphony #7 (composed in 1963, published in 1967) signed by him at the bottom with a quote and dated July 13, 1981. Size is 8.3 x 11 inches, 1 page, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned half-tone photograph of the composer (probably a clip from a magazine or book) with his facsimiled (printed) signature.  Size is 3.3 x 4.4 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer and music critic (1803-1856), prolific creator of ballets and operas, Adam is best known for his ballets Giselle (1841) and Le Corsaire (1856).  Autograph letter in French (sold with translation) signed by the composer to a friend, dated March 23, 1836, about personal matters, mounted on a mat with his portrait.  Total size is 13.1 x 9 inches, letter size is 3.9 x 4.9 inches, embossed initials over the upper-right corner, portrait's size is 4.8 x 5.8 inches, all in excellent condition.

English composer (1902-1983), known for his works in several classical genres including opera, oratorio, orchestral, film, etc. Autograph note with the hotel's letterhead signed by him on Easter Sunday 1973.  Size is 8.7 x 6.5 inches, 1 page, central fold, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned half-tone photograph of the composer shown young. Size is 5 x 7.8 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer (1892-1974), conductor, and teacher; member of Les Six and one of the most prolific composers of the 20th century. Black-and-white photo postcard signed and inscribed by him with a 2-bar music quote. Size is 3.4 x 5.4 inches, minor mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition.

Dutch tenor (1861-1942), attractive unsigned cabinet photograph, shown in the title role of Wagner's Lohengrin, a photo by Cosman photographers, Amsterdam. Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, in excellent condition.

German composer (1905-1963). Typed letter in German (sold untranslated) with his letterhead signed by him, dated in Munich, 1961. Size is 8.25 x 11.6 inches, folds, minor stains and cracks at the bottom, in overall very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned half-tone photograph shown at the piano (probably a clip from a magazine or program). Size is 4.5 x 5.1 inches, in very good condition.

Spanish pianist, composer and well-known accompanist (1928-2013), best known for his collaborations with the star Spanish mezzo-soprano Teresa Berganza, to whom he was married from 1957 to 1977. Signed photograph, size is 5 x 7 inches, several bends, otherwise in good condition. 

German composer (1810-1856), pianist, and influential music critic; widely regarded as one of the greatest composers of the Romantic era. Short autograph note in German (sold untranslated) signed by him, dated in Leipzig, August 8, 1839. Size is 8.4 x 5.2 inches, 1 page, central fold, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned half-tone photograph of the composer (probably a clip from a magazine or book). Size is 3.7 x 4.3 inches, in excellent condition.

German composer (1869-1949), conductor, and polemicist, who was a self-described anti-modernist. Autograph note written in German (sold untranslated) signed by him on a brownish paper mounted with a photo postcard of the composer.  Total size is 8.4 x 13.25 inches, note's size is 4.8 x 3.2 inches (visible window size), photo's size is 3.7 x 5.25 inches, ink is a little bit faded but still clearly visible, in very good condition.

Austrian composer of Romanian and Czech ancestry (1860-1945), whose works include 5 symphonies, music for orchestra, stage, piano, chamber, and vocals. Photo postcard signed by him mounted on a mat. Total size is 5.25 x 7.25 inches, photo is 3.3 x 5.2 inches, in very good condition.

Cornish soprano (1866-1945), signed photograph, shown as herself. Size is 3.5 x 5.25 inches, mounting traces on verso and slight paper loss on front not affecting the signature, otherwise in very good condition.

English bass (1857-1935), signed postcard photograph, size is 3.25 x 5.25 inches, some silvering and rust as well as a small crack on the left, discount reflected in price. 

French baritone and composer (1830-1914). Autograph letter signed with embossed letterhead, 1 page, written in French, sold untranslated. Size is 4.5 x 7 inches, neatly folded, in excellent condition.

French pianist (1839-1934) famed as one of the first-ever recording artists. His business card with a short text in French written by him, dated 1907. Size is 4.1 x 2.6 inches, overall age-toning, otherwise in excellent condition.

English dancer (1910-2004), the first from her country to be titled Prima Ballerina Assoluta. Her business card with a short sentiment in English written by her. Size is 4 x 3 inches (open size is 4 x 6 inches), two sets of staple holes, overall age-toning, otherwise in very good condition.

German opera conductor and composer (1871-1958), he was in charge of the (later) Berlin State Opera and other opera houses in Europe. His business card signed by him with a short 3-bar music quote, dated 1913. Size is 4.6 x 2.3 inches, overall age-toning, otherwise in excellent condition.

French conductor and violinist (1838-1910), a great champion of Hector Berlioz' music and contemporary composers.  His business card signed by him with a short text written by him in French. Size is 4 x 2.25 inches, overall age-toning, otherwise in excellent condition.

French composer (1852-1914), teacher, organist, and pianist known for his playing of Mozart's work. His business card with a short text in French written by him over the top. Size is 3.75 x 2.1 inches, overall soft age-toning, otherwise in excellent condition.

Italian set and costume designer (1865-1936), director and illustrator, considered the greatest of his generation; and also known as "Caramba". His business card with a costume design drawn by him on the verso. Size is 3.9 x 2.25 inches, overall soft age-toning, creases, dirt stains, in overall good condition.

French actress (1867-1938). Her business card signed by her with her initials and a short sentiment in French. Size is 3.5 x 2.1 inches, overall soft age-toning, tape residues on corners, otherwise in very good condition.

French composer (1857-1944) of Austrian and Italian origin. His business card with a short text in French written by him on the front and verso. Size is 3.75 x 2.25 inches, overall soft age-toning, otherwise in excellent condition.

Star Spanish tenor (1927-1999) and leading Italian dramatic mezzo-soprano (b. 1935), double signed photograph, shown in roles, dated in 1965. Photo by "David". Size is 8 x 10 inches, small creases on right edges, otherwise in excellent condition. 

French tenor and actor (1878-1954), whose career was mostly associated with the French repertoire. Autograph note signed written on the official letterhead of the Theatre National De L'Opera, 1 page, written in French, sold untranslated. Size of page is 5.25 x 8 inches, small creases and folds, otherwise in good condition. 

German tenor (1858-1938), son of the composer and conductor of the same last name. Signed album page, written in English, size is 9 x 11.5 inches, small tears on far right edges, otherwise in excellent condition. 

American baritone (1887-1980), signed album page, dated in 1933. Inscribed with short sentiment, bold handwriting and signature. Size is 9 x 11.75 inches, in excellent condition. 

American tenor (1887-1977), autograph letter signed, 1 page in English, dated in 1942. Size is 6 x 8 inches, small creases and folds, otherwise in very good condition. 

German soprano (1874-1935), autograph note signed, dated in 1929, written in German, sold untranslated. Size is 6.5 x 8 inches, small creases and bends and slight paper loss on far right, not affecting the handwriting. Otherwise in good condition. S

American mezzo-soprano (1870-1951), also known as Sara Cahier. Signed album page, dated in Munich in 1913 (signed as "Madame Charles Cahier") containing a quote from the famous American artist James Whistler. Bold and clear signature. Also included: unsigned photo of her, shown most likely in role, photo by Wasow, mounted onto the cardboard containing her signature. Size of photo is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, total item is 8 x 10.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Austrian-American soprano (1879-1954), autograph letter signed, 2 pages, written on both sides of a 2 -sided 4.5 x 6.5 inch embossed card, written in English, dated in 1923. Several small bullet holes on the top, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Signed holiday card of the Japanese soprano, size is 4 x 5.25 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer (1862-1918). Beautiful and unsigned caricature on photographic paper depicting the composer conducting. Photographic reproduction by photographer Roger Viollet, Paris. Size is 7.1 x 9.4 inches, in very good condition.

Norwegian soprano (1895-1962), one of the greatest Wagnerian dramatic singers of the 20th century. Signed album page, dated in 1950, addressed to Gerald Fitzgerald, who later became an associate editor of the Metropolitan Opera Guild's Opera News magazine from 1960-1990 and a well-known figure in American opera. Bold handwriting and signature. Size is 4 x 6.25 inches, small creases and bends, otherwise in very good condition. 

Beautiful set of 5 unsigned photo postcards depicting caricatures of opera composers Arrigo Boito, Ruggero Leoncavallo (2), Pietro Mascagni, and Jules Massenet. Each size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, some of which have rust stains on the verso. All are in overall very good condition or better. SOLD ONLY AS A LOT, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.  

Irish baritone and later leading music teacher and administrator (1865-1936), most famous in the formal concert and oratorio repertoire. One autograph musical quote signed, dated in 1908 on a 3.5 x 4.5 inch card. Also included: unsigned 3.25 x 5.5 inch postcard photo of him, shown as himself. Both in excellent condition, not sold separately. 

French-American coloratura soprano (1898-1976), a Metropolitan star for nearly 30 years. Autograph letter signed on her own letterhead, written in both English and French on both sides of a large folded sheet and sold untranslated. Total size is 7.25 x 10.25 inches, in excellent condition. 

Signed 3 x 5 inch card containing the signatures of two famous sisters the Italian mezzo-soprano Sofia Ravogli (1865-1910) and Italian soprano Giulia Ravogli (1866-1941). This card also contains a musical quote betweeen their two signatures and is dated in New York in 1892. On the verso side of this card is the signature of American painter, sculptor, and writer Francis Davis Millet (1848-1912) who died in the sinking of the famous ship the Titanic. Signed as "F.D. Millet", dated in 1892. Bold handwriting and signature. Vintage item in excellent condition. 

Scottish soprano (1874-1967), very famous in France and in the United States at the beginning of the 20th century. Became one of the leading sopranos in the Opéra-Comique, admired for her acting skills, colorful voice and wide vocal range.    Set of three autograph letters signed, all handwritten by her, one of these is a 4.5 x 7 inch 4 page undated (folded) document, another a 2 page letter (5.25 x 7.25 inches) written on the stationary of the Splendide-Royal et Excelsior hotel, dated in 1912, both of these are written in French and sold untranslated. The other letter is written with the letterhead of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in New York, 2 pages in English, size is 5.5 x 7 inches. All of these are in very good condition, not sold separately.

Group of 4 signed and typed receipts for payments signed by leading artists performing at the legendary Italian opera house, La Scala, Milan during the winter and spring of 1929. The artists included are Italian bass Giuseppe Menni (1880-1977), Italian mezzo Gina Pedroni, Spanish soprano Mercedes Llopart (1895-1970), and Italian tenor Piero Girardi (1900-?). Sizes range from 5.5 to 8 inches to 6.25 x 9.5 inches, small creases and folds, otherwise in very good condition. Not sold separately.

Star Italian soprano, actress, and monologist (1874-1944) who had a celebrated career in both the U.S and Europe.   Beautiful collection of 6 unsigned vintage photographs including 4 photo postcards and 2 larger photos of her, shown both in role and as herself, most of them in black-and-white and a few colorized. The photo postcards are eachs3.5 x 5.5 inches; for the larger photos one of them is 5 x 7  inches, the other is 5.25 x 8.75 inches..
