Her book "Obama: The Historic Journey" signed by her and three more unidentified people (probably personnel who participated in the making of the book), published by The New York Times (2009), first edition. Size is 10.25 x 12.2 inches, 240 pages, hard covers, dust jacket, in overall very good condition.

American music critic and writer (1935-2001), famous for his work as music critic and his 4 books about soprano Maria Callas.  Signed book "Maria Callas - The Art and the Life", inscribed and signed in the first title page by Ardoin, dated in 1980. Written in collaboration with Gerald Fitzgerald, published by Holt, Rinehart and Winston, first edition, 1974. Book with many black and white illustrations and text. A total of 282 numbered pages, hardcovers, dust jacket, 9.25 x 12.25 inches, dust jacket has some cracks and minor folds, book itself is in excellent condition.

Fabulous autograph book, with 12 signatures on the frontend and title pages by some of the most important figures in the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo company and Jack Anderson, the book´s author. British dance historian, critic, technical theorist, translator, bookseller, and publisher (1891-1976).  Signed mini book "Margot Fonteyn", 20 numbered pages, first edition, Wyman and Sons Ltd., London, 1948. Size is 5.5 x 8.6 inches, some illustrations, in very good condition.

French-born dancer (1927-2007), choreographer and opera director who ran the Béjart Ballet Lausanne in Switzerland, and developed a popular expressionistic form of modern ballet, talking vast themes.  His book "La Flute Enchantée" signed by him with a long sentiment, Alain Béjart (with a short sentiment), and Alain Duault (with a short sentiment) on the first title page.  Published by Albin Michelle Avana Scéne, Paris, 1982, 1st edition, 155 pages, with many black-and-white photographs.  Size is 8.5 x 11.6 inches, hard covers, dust jacket, some wear on the dust jacket, book in excellent condition.

Swedish soprano (1910-2006) and wife of the celebrated Swedish tenor Jussi Bjorling. Her book (presentation copy) "Jussi" signed by her and co-author Andrew Farkas on an attached bookplate on verso of the front cover, and signed again and inscribed by Mr. Farkas with a short sentiment opposite the bookplate, dated on November 8th, 1996. Published by Amadeus Press, Portland, Oregon, 1996. Size is 6.5 x 9.2 inches, 456 pages, hardcovers, dust jacket, many interesting pictures and a facsimile signature of the famous tenor on his photo on the first title page.

English composer, conductor and pianist (1913-1976) and English tenor (1910-1986), together they travel worldwide performing and recording. Privately printed mini-book for both artists by Benham and Company Ltd. (1965), 38 pages and soft covers. Stamped on first page: "Privately printed edition, of which 100 copies have been signed by the travellers" and numbered 92. Boldly signed by both Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears. American cooking teacher (1912-2004), author, and television personality. Her book "Julia Child & More Company" signed by her on the front end page. Published by Alfred A. Knopf, New York, 1979, 1st edition, with many color illustrations and recipes.  Size is 8.75 x 11.25 inches, 248 pages, hardcovers, dust jacket, some wear, cracks, and fading on the dust jacket -book in excellent condition.

Bulgarian-born environmental artist (1935-2020), his full name is Christo Vladimirov Yavachev. Christo is famous for his works with his now deceased wife Jeanne-Claude and his own. Signed book "The Umbrellas" about the joint project for Japan and USA which led to an exhibition in June-July 1989. Published by the Guy Pieters Gallery, Belgium. Christo signs on the title page of this bilingual (in English and Japanese) book full of pictures. Size is 9.75 x 9.75 inches, in excellent condition. Also included is a separate, 2-page printout that explains about the project.

American novelist (1947-2013), very famous for his espionage novels, with storylines set after the cold war.  Signed book "The Hunt for the Red October", one of his most famous spy/suspense novels, first edition, published in 1984 by Naval Institute Press, Maryland, signed and inscribed by Clancy on the first title page. American politician (b.1946) who served as the 42nd President of the United States (1993-2001).  Signed book, with signature on the title page, published by Alfred A. Knopf, New York, 2004. Book "Aaron Copland" a biography by Arthur Berger signed by the composer with a short sentiment, and the author (with a long sentiment) plus the editor on the front end page within different dates of 1953. Published by Oxford University Press, New York, 1953, 1st edition, 120 pages, hardcovers, dust jacket.  Size is 5.75 x 8.6 inches, some wear and cracks on the dust jacket, some stain in the inner flap, rust stains on pages 36 and 37, otherwise in very good condition.

American author, screenwriter and film director (1942-2008), best known for his works on science fiction and thrillers. Over a dozen of his books have been adapted into films. Signed book "Jurassic Park", one of his best sellers and adapted into what is now a series of films, published by Alfred A. Knopf, New York, this is the first Gift Edition (1993), original first edition was published in 1990. Signed by Crichton on the first blank page. Size is 7.25 x 9.25 inches, 461 numbered pages, hardcovers and original dust jacket, slight yellowish tone on cover edges, all in very good condition.  

Star Italian tenor (1921-2008), admired for his extremely beautiful voice, partner of Maria Callas and Tito Gobbi on stage and in most of her studio recordings. A short biography book titled "Giuseppe di Stefano" written by Heino Eggers (1967) and signed multiple times by the Italian tenor with one long and one short sentiment in German in different parts of the book in 1967 and 1968. Size is 5.5 x 7.3 inches, 64 pages, many photographs, pages 40 and 41 are missing, in overall excellent condition.

British ballet dancer (1919-1991), considered by many one of the greatest dancers of the 20th century. Signed book "Fonteyn - The Making of a Legend", a book by Keith Money. Fonteyn signed and inscribed this book on the title page, opposite to a full-page photograph of her. This is a larger size book mostly with photographs from her life, including captions and some text, first US edition by Reynal and Co., New York, 1974, a year after the first UK edition. A total of 318 numbered pages, hardcovers, dust jacket, 10.25 x 12.5 inches, all in excellent condition.

English novelist (1926-2005) of international fame, his books have been translated to many languages and adapted to film.  Signed book "The French´s lieutenant´s woman", first American edition, second printing, Little, Brown & Company, 1969. Signature is on the title page, 467 numbered pages, hardcovers and dust jacket, 6.5 x 9.5 inches, in excellent condition.

American writer (1921-1992), and author of the famous novel "Roots" (1976), later adapted as a TV miniseries.  Signed book "Roots", inscribed and dated by him in 1979, with a long sentiment mentioning Kunta Kinte, the main character of his famous novel. Hardcovers, first edition by Doubleday & Co., New York, 1976. Dust jacket with some cracks, book is in excellent condition.

Egyptian archaeologist (b.1947) and former Minister of Antiquities Affairs in his country. Luxurious edition of his book "Tutank Hamun: Treasure of the Golden Pharaoh" signed by him on the second page behind the title page; with gorgeous photographs and information. First edition by Melcher Media, 2018. Size is 9.25 x 12.25 inches, 320 pages plus extras and covers, in excellent condition.

New Zealand mountaineer and explorer (1919-2008) who became the first climber to reach the summit of Mount Everest on May 29, 1953. Book "The Conquest of Everest" by John Hunt signed by Edmund Hillary, and three other members of the 1953 expedition to Mount Everest George Lowe, William Hazlett, and James Morris, in the frontend page.   Size is 6 x 8.75 inches, 300 pages, dust jacket, hardcovers, first American edition by E. P. Dutton & Co. (New York), 1954; some wear on the dust jacket, stains on the frontend pages, in overall very good condition.

French Bass-baritone and voice teacher (1860-1930), his book signed by him on first page, inscribed to his friend Jules Martiny, who wrote a famous book on the history of the Theatre in Liege, Belgium.  Published in Brussels by Schott Freres, 1890 - first edition, 720 pages. Red leather, rubbed and worn, original wrappers bound in. Signed on first page by the authors, complete, a fine copy. Size is 7.9 x 11.25 inches. Also included is an unsigned half-tone photo of Isnardon, shown in Faust, mounted on light cardboard, total size is 6.9 x 10.5 inches.  Signed copies of this book are very rare.

Canadian photographer (1908-2002) known for his portraits of notable individuals, he was described as one of the greatest portrait photographers of the 20th century. His book "Portraits of Greatness" signed and inscribed by him on the frontend page with a long sentiment, dated December 1963.  Size is 9.75 x 12.1 inches, first edition (1959), 2nd reprint (1961), 207 pages, hard covers, dust jacket, in very good condition.

American author, disability rights advocate and political activist (1880-1968). Keller lost her sight and hearing before she was 2 years old. Her signed biography "The Story of My Life", originally published in 1902, this is the 10th printing by Dell Publishing Co., New York, 1965. Helen Keller signature is on the full title page. Soft covers, 416 numbered pages, 4.1 x 6.3 inches, some wear and minor stains on covers, in very good condition.

Star Russian pianist (b.1971), his book "Memoirs and Reflections", boldly signed by him on the frontend page. Published by ForeEdge, 2017, hardcovers, dust jacket, 190 numbered pages, in excellent condition. Also included is a program for a concert in Chicago in May 2018, with a ticket stub to meet Kissin after the concert (not shown). All in excellent condition.

Russian-born French dance journalist and writer (1887-1933). Book "Marie Taglioni (1804-1884), signed on the first blank page by Levinson, and inscribed to famous Austrian novelist, playwright, journalist and biographer Stefan Zweig (1881-1942). Published by Librairie Felix Alcan, Paris, 1929, one of only 100 that were printed on paper Lafuma pure thread. Book was rebound with new hard covers, of which the spine is missing, original covers are inside. A total of 141 numbered pages, a few illustrations, 5.75 x 8.2 inches, in very good condition.

American screenwriter (1889-1981), playwright and author, mostly known for her successful novel "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes". Loos wrote many of the Douglas Fairbanks silent films. This book was later adapted twice for film, once for a silent 1928 film, then in 1953 for the famous movie with Marilyn Monroe. Signed book, published by Brentano´s, Ltd., London, one of a limited edition of 1000 books, each signed by the author, 1926. Book is signed twice, once on the dedication page, with a small drawing, and inscribed probably to her husband, film director John Emerson (1874-1956), and once on the opposite page (see scans). Hardcovers, gilded edges, with illustrations by Ralph Barton, 217 numbered pages. Size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, some water damage at the bottom with some pages at the end glued at the bottom, in good condition.

American novelist, journalist, essayist, playwright, activist, film-maker and actor (1923-2007).  Signed book "Marilyn - A Biography by Norman Mailer - Pictures by the World´s Foremost Photographers". Signed by Mailer on the first title page, inscribed, with a short sentiment, dated in April 1974. Mailer writes an interesting message "To Dick Garlottas, cheers - and drinking here, Norman Mailer, April 1974". A total of 270 numbered pages with text and lots of photographs in color and black and white, published by Grosset & Dunlap, New York, first edition, second printing.  Size is 9.5 x 10.75 inches, some wear on covers and soiling/stains on main title page, clean inside, very good condition.

American novelist and short screenwriter (b.1948), especially noted in the science fiction, horror, and fantasy genre. A Souvenir book for the "ConFrancisco" -51st World Science Fiction Convention) held on September 1993, signed by the author on the last page along with many other different authors.  Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, 168 pages, softcovers, in excellent condition.

American novelist and short screenwriter (b.1948), specially noted in the science fiction, horror and fantasy genre. 2 volumes of a graphic novel "A Game of Thrones", successfully taken to the screen in the famous series. Volume 1 is signed by Martin on the title page, while volume 2 is signed by Martin and graphic artist Mike Miller, also on the title page.  Books are full of colorful illustrations presented as comics, and each is 6.8 x 10.5 inches, hardcovers and dust jackets, in excellent condition.  Sold per separate. Fabulous illustrated book with 96 tipped-in b&w photos, this copy belonged to American dancer Meredith Baylis, who signed on the frontend page and dated in 1949, and several important dancers signed and inscribed their autographs to her on their corresponding photos. Published by Geoffrey Bles, London, first edition, 1939. Included in the book are photos signed by Leonid Massine, Tatiana Riabouchinska, David Lichine, Frederick Franklin, Mischa Panaieff and Igor Yousskevitch. Size is 10.25 x 12.75, two-tone cloth hardcovers, tape marks on frontend page, otherwise in very good condition. See some photographs of the inside.

Russian dancer and choreographer (1896-1979), signed book "To The Ballet", first edition, 1935, also signed by author and ballet expert Irving Deakin (English, 1895-1959), who dated his signature in Chicago, 1936. Signatures are on first page, 178 pages, 4.75 x 7.5 inches, hard covers, overall age toning, in overall very good condition.  

Star Australian soprano (1861-1931), who became one of the most famous singers of the late Victorian Era and the 20th century for her beautiful voice and technique.  Book "Melba's Gift Book of Australian Art and Literature" signed by the famous soprano with a short sentiment and dated in 1918 on the first blank page opposite her printed image in color by the Australian artist Florence Rodway. The book was published by George Robertson, no year indicated. Size is 7.5 x 10 inches, 176 pages, minor wear on the front cover, inside in very good condition, beautifully illustrated.

British Royal Navy Officer and Statesman (1900-1979), and maternal uncle of Prince Philip, and Worl War II hero. Book entitled "Mountbatten" by Arthur Swinson, signed by Mountbatten of Burma over the back of the title page (opposite to the index - editorial page). Size is 5.4 x 8.25 inches, 1st Edition, 1971, 160 pages, softcovers, some wear on the spine and covers, otherwise in excellent condition.

Italian composer of opera and film music (1885-1951), Mulé created 7 operas and was in his time well-connected with the fascist regime. Signed score of his 4th opera, "Dafni" (1928), first edition, version for piano and voice, inscribed to Canadian pianist and teacher Helen Paxton, dated in Roma, 1928. Autograph is on the full title page. A total of 248 numbered pages, original covers, published by Ricordi, Milano, 1928. Size is 8 x 10.8 inches, first 2 pages are loose, some wear and paper loss on corners, in good condition. Rare!

Israeli politician (b.1949) serving as Prime Minister of Israel since 2009, and previously from 1996 to 1999. His book "Terrorism: How the West Can Win", signed and inscribed by him on the front end page. Published by Farrar Strauss & Giroux, New York, 1st Edition, 2nd Printing, 1986.  Size is 6.25 x 9.25 inches, 254 pages, hardcovers, dust jacket, minor rust, in very good condition.

Biography of the great Russian dancer, written by his wife Romola, who signed on the front end page. First edition, ninth printing, hardcovers, in English, contains some photos. Size is 6.5 x 9.5 inches, 448 pages, light age toning, in very good condition, dust jacket in good condition.

Martin Mayer's book "Grandissimo Pavarotti" signed on the first title page by the star tenor, dated 1984. Edited by Doubleday & Co, New York, first edition. Size is 9.2 x 12.25 inches, 224 pages, in excellent condition. Two unidentified signatures are found  on the front and back of the frontend page.

English tenor (1910-1986), closely associated with composer Benjamin Britten for nearly 40 years. Pears created the role of the fisherman Peter Grimes in the opera of the same name by Britten in 1945. Published in 1985 by the Britten-Pears Library, it contains many photographs of Pears´ life and career and letters to him, including some written for his 75th Birthday. Signed on the title page, inscribed and dated by Pears in 1985, opposite to a photograph of him with Benjamin Britten. A total of 145 numbered pages plus extras and hardcovers, dust jacket, all in excellent condition. The book is 7 x 10 inches in size, in excellent condition.  

Israeli politician (1923-2016) who served as the ninth President of Israel (2007-2014) and Prime Minister twice. His book "For the Future of Israel", signed by him and inscribed to his friend Rabbi Herbert A. Friedman (1918-2008), a Reform Rabbi who also was president of UJA and was involved in many humanitarian causes.  First edition, hardcovers, 206 numbered pages, dust jacket, published by Johns Hopkings, 1998. Size is 5.75 x 9.3 inches, in excellent condition. Most likely a reading copy, there are inside a couple of typed letters, one signed by Friedman, to the editors, pointing out some errors in the book, and another by the editors, not shown here for privacy reasons..

Full Almanac from the Prague National Theater, from the year 1929. Around 68 signatures from singers and opera personalities, each one under the corresponding photo. Full book size is 12 x 9 inches, with all 84 pages, in very good condition.

American actress (1921-2016) and 2nd wife of Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, former first lady 1981-1989. Signed book, with many color photographs and text, first edition by St. Martin´s Press, New York, 1986. Nancy Reagan signed on the frontend page and inscribed, ownership writing on the top right corner. Dust jacket, hardcovers, 266 numbered pages, 8.75 x 11 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer (1823-1909) and music critic, Reyer is mostly known for his operas, of which Sigurd (1884) and Salammbo (1890) were the most successful. "Salammbo", vocal and piano score of the opera in 5 acts, Choudens Fils, Paris, attached with a short autograph letter signed by the French composer. Letter is written in French, sold untranslated, size is 4 x 6.25 inches. Vocal score is in good condition, binding is in only fair condition, no rust, 7.75 x 10.75 inches, 360 pages.

American cartoonist (1890-1949), entrepreneur and amateur anthropologist. His book "Believe it or Not!" signed by the famous showman on the front cover page with a short sentiment, published in 1934, first edition, 9th printing.  Size is 6.3 x 9.3 inches, 361 pages, repaired spine, some wear on the cover, book in overall very good condition.

Set of 2 volumes, published by John Henry Nash, San Francisco, 1920. Original publisher´s olive green boards with a printed label on the spines. Signed by both Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn below the limitation statement for each volume (350 copies were made and signed by both). Printed in Italian paper, volume 1 has only text, while volume 2 has only illustrations, mostly b&w plates, some color, of St. Denis in various dancing roles in her career.  Volume I is also signed by Ruth St. Denis on the frontend page, inscribed to Hal Marm, with a short sentiment (a total of 3 signatures by her on these 2 volumes). Size is 10 x 13.25 inches, water damage on covers and the first pages, minor, spotter rust, in very good condition.
