Theater and Stage Autographs

Austrian actress (b.1968) and German actor (1942-2013). Beautiful larger-size color photograph signed by both artists, shown in a theater play.  Size is 11.9 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.

Comic play by the British playwright (1855-1934). Program for a performance of the play in New York at the Knickerbocker Theatre on June 1st, 1925, signed by all cast including Charles Coburn, Herbert Corthell, William Courtleight, Claude King, Amelia Bingham, Violet Heming, and others, for a total of 26 signatures.  Size is 9 x 11 inches, full program with all pages and covers, some wear and stains on the covers, otherwise in excellent condition.

American actress (1857-1936) who enjoyed an important career in England. Front of a cabinet photograph (an original by Aimé Dupont) depicting the actress as Marie Antoinette, signed by her, dated in Boston, January 15, 1896. Size is 4.2 x 6.5 inches, backing of the cabinet was removed, in overall very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED are some Magazine clips of the actress and her career.

German stage and film actor (1872-1945), signed postcard photograph, shown in the role of Pierrot, signed in Wiesbaden. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, very slight paper loss on some edges and mounting traces on verso, otherwise in very good condition.

English actress (1872-1949), who followed her elder sister Violet into the theatrical profession and sustained a career for more than 50 years. Fine black-and-white photo postcard signed by her, shown as herself. Size is 3.4 x 5.2 inches, minor crack over the left border, otherwise in excellent condition.

English actress (1867-1942) with a career that spanned more than 50 years, though it was overshadowed by that of her more famous sister, Irene Vanbrugh. Fine sepia photo postcard signed by her with a short sentiment, here shown in role. Size is 3.5 x 5.4 inches, in excellent condition.

Russian actress (1877-1948), signed postcard photograph, shown in role, dated in 1917. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, slight paper loss on edges, otherwise attractive vintage item in very good condition.

French actress (1743-1804), known as "Madame Vestris" Autograph letter in French (sold with transcription) signed by her, dated 1792. Size is 4 x 5.8 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet, folds, in excellent condition.

Program for a stage performance of the Spanish actor at Teatro Auditorium, Havana, Cuba, on July-August, 1949, signed by him.  Size is 4 x 9 inches, 4 pages, in excellent condition.

Set of 7 autograph letters signed containing signatures by leading mostly European stage actors and actresses from the mid-nineteenth to early twentieth century (ranging from 1854 to 1920), including  Adelaide Ristori, Dion Boucicault, Jeanne Julia Bartet, Mistinguett, and Virginia Marini. Sizes range from 3.5 x 4.75 inches to 6 x 7.5 inches. All are in very good condition, not sold separately.

English pantomime stage actress (1894-1971), signed postcard photograph, shown as herself. Size is 3.25 x 5.25 inches, in excellent condition.

American film, television, and stage actor (1915-2014), active from 1945 to 2010 his career spanned over more than 60 years.  Program for a performance of "Rhinoceros" (ca.1961) at the Longacre Theater, signed on the cover by the actor.  Size is 6.4 x 9 inches, 36 pages plus covers, in very good condition.

American actress. Nice cabinet-style photograph by Clarks Studio (Atlanta, GA), signed on verso by the actress with a short sentiment, shown in the play "Mrs. Wiggs of Cabbage Patch", dated in New York, 1909.  Size is 4.2 x 7.1 inches, pinhole over the top border, some silvering, in very goo condition.

American actor and Broadway performer. Set of 12+ autograph letters signed by him, from around the 1910s.  Various sizes, all in very good condition, some of them have several pages. SOLD ONLY AS A LOT, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

British actor (1870-1961), comedian, and monologist, who became known as "The Irving of the music halls". Black-and-white photo postcard signed by him, shown in role. Size is 3.4 x 5.3 inches, in excellent condition.

German actor (b.1938) and German TV actor and playwright (b.1945). Fine larger-size color photograph signed by both actors, shown in the theater play "Pension Scholler".  Size is 8 x 11.75 inches, in excellent condition.

English stage & film actor (1868-1941), and also comedian, dancer, and singer. Great black and white photo postcard signed by him, shown at his home. Size is 3.5 x 5.4 inches, in excellent condition.

English actor (1747-1842), and theater manager. Autograph note signed by him.  Size is 7.4 x 8.75 inches, 1 page, rust stains on edges, folds, in overall very good condition.

Japanese ballerina on bicycle (1939-1990), whose entire family worked as acrobats. Beautiful black and white promo photograph signed by her shown with her bicycle. Size is 8 x 10 inches, in excellent condition.

English actor (1777-1856), whose first appearance was in Liverpool in September 1798. Autograph letter in English signed by him and dated November 5, 1849, to a gentleman concerning rehearsals in a theatre. Size is 4.5 x 7.1 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), folds, some rust stains, in overall excellent condiiton.

Italian stage and film actor (1857-1948); best known as a representative of naturalism and verism in acting. Large size photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, dated in Buenos Aires, 1938, shown in role.  Photo is matted to a total size of 11.5 x 15.1 inches (actual photo is 8.25 x 9.5 inches, visible window size), minor damage over the upper-left corner, some dirt on the mat, in overall very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a small program from 1913, for a performance of the theater play "The Palace of Flames", with Ermete Zacconi in the cast. See photos of front cover and verso of this program.
