American tenor (1888-1969). Large-size sepia photograph of the tenor by Fred Hartsook signed by Marsh with a short sentiment; here shown in his famous role of Prince Karl Franz in Sigmund Romberg’s four acts operetta “The Student Prince” (1924). Size is 7.4 x 9.2 inches, mounted on cardboard, in overall excellent condition.

Dutch soprano (1872-1939). Autograph letter in German signed by her, dated April 2, 1910, to the composer Georg Schumann (1866-1952), concerning the performance of his opera “Ruth” in Dordrecht :  “...I am pleased to inform you that your work was a great success in Dordrecht; the audience was very enthusiastic and did not stop applauding at the end, even after the first scene of Naomi and Ruth there was a great cheer. Mr. [Johann Eduard] Erdmann asked me to tell you about it when I would see you again, but since I do not know when that will be, I write it to you. I hope you will allow me to sing the part for you, which, although extremely difficult, suits me very well. The preparation was very short (in 2 1⁄2 days I had to sing it with a very swollen throat!), but Mr. E. was very pleased with the replacement for Ms. Strauch! - If you ever have time and I am free, I would be happy if you call me some time for the Ruth...”. Size is 5.2 x 6.7 inches each page, 4 written pages in one folded sheet, embossed letterhead, in very good condition.

American singer (1882-1973), pianist, and teacher, daughter of singer and pianist George Henschel. Nice photograph shown at the piano, signed and inscribed by her with a short sentiment dated March 2, 1914, to the music arranger and editor Archibald Martin Henderson (1879-1957); photo by The Dover Street Studios (London).  Size is 5.75 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

American soprano (1851-1929).  Short autograph note in German on the verso and front of her personal card signed by her as "Minnie". Size is 3.5 x 2 inches, some rust tone, in overall excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned carte-de-visite (CDV) with her image and her personal card.

Italian superstar tenor (1890-1957), one of the greatest tenors of all time, often regarded as "the second Caruso". Set of two short autograph notes signed by him on two illustrated postcards about personal matters. Size is 5.8 x 4 inches, some stains, overall rust tone, in overall very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED are the following items: Gigli's personal card with handwriting by his secretary, and a rare original obituary (not shown), and a funeral announcement (not shown).

American mezzo-soprano (1892-1977), older sister of soprano Rosa Ponselle. Printed score for Miguel Sandoval's vocal piece "Christ The Redeemer" signed and inscribed by Ponselle with a short sentiment on the front cover, dated August 18, 1967. Size is 6.9 x 10.2 inches, 12 pages (including covers), in excellent condition.

Italian tenor (1844-1926), who had a fantastic international career, including many performances in Russia where he sang 16 seasons in Moscow and 27 in St. Petersburg, including a large repertoire. Signed cabinet photograph, shown as himself, signed and inscribed on verso. Photograph by V. Alejandro, Madrid. Size is 5.25 x 8.5 inches, small creases on edges and other minor signs of wear, otherwise in very good condition. Extremely rare and desirable!

Hungarian soprano (?1887-1941), signed photograph, shown most likely in role, signed and inscribed in Berlin. Photo by Kaiserl Koning photogaphers, Berlin. Size is 8 x 12.5 inches, small bullet hole near the top and mounting traces on verso, otherwise in very good condition.

American tenor (1895-?).  Signed photograph, shown as himself, dated in New York in 1927.  This is a 4.25 x 6 inch photo mounted on soft cardboard, signature is at the bottom of the cardboard underneath the photo. Total item size is 8.5 x 12 inches, mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition

American baritone (1880-1931),  signed photograph, shown as himself, inscribed and dated in 1920.  Photo by Baker Art Gallery, Columbus, Ohio.   Size is 8 x 10 inches, in very good condition.

Italian tenor (1881-?), an early rival of Enrico Caruso, made several recordings. Signed photograph, shown as himself, inscribed and dated in New York in 1911. Size is 4.5 x 7.5 inches, mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition. Rare!

Italian soprano (1871-1959) whose real name was Maria Clotilde Gigli. Signed vintage cabinet photograph, shown as herself. Photo by Rembrandt photo studio. This is a 5 x 7.25 inch photo mounted on a cabinet, total item size is 5.25 x 8.25 inches. Small creases on bottom edges of the cabinet not affecting the photo or signatures itself, which are in excellent condition.

Italian baritone, whose career developed between 1893 and 1906. Signed photograph, shown in role (likely as Athanaël in Massenet's Thais), inscribed and dated in Rome in 1907.  Photo size is 6.25 x 8.25 inches, mounted on solid cardboard, total item size is 7 x 9.5 inches, in excellent condition. 

French singer (1899-1979), who worked in close artistic association with Francis Poulenc. Autograph note in French signed by him, no date, as follows: "For Lyda – my very 'aristocratic' friendship (Jean Pierre) – and all my admiration for the impeccable musician.". Size is 4.4 x 6.7 inches, 1 page, tape residues over the right border, otherwise in very good condition.

American bass-baritone (1927-1975), who was acclaimed for his great abilities as a singing-actor, and specialized in roles that evoked villainy and terror. Beautiful black-and-white photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, here shown as Mephistopheles in Gounod's opera "Faust" at The New York City Opera; photo by Beth Bergman. Size is 7.75 x 10 inches, in excellent condition.

Star Czech tenor (1873-1946), very popular in his time as an opera singer as well as an actor/comedian. Gorgeous black-and-white photograph signed by him, dated 1921, here shown as Radamés in Verdi's opera "Aida". Size is 3.4 x 5.3 inches, in very good condition.

Austrian singer and composer (1890-1962). Fine black-and-white photo postcard by Karl Winkler (Vienna) signed by the artist, shown at the piano holding some scores, dated on verso 1946 with 8 bars from his song “Mutter, Ich habe an dich gedacht” (1917).  Size is 3.4 x 5.4 inches, in excellent condition.

Belgian mezzo-soprano(1835-1907), daughter of the composer Jean-Désiré Montagney Artôt. Autograph letter in French signed by her, dated June 26, 1873, to the German tenor Bernhard Pollini (1838-1897), concerning performances:  "... Thank you for Hamburg's permission, we will accept a concert in Baden if, like in Hamburg, you are given 2,000 Francs. But it must not be later than the 11th or 12th, for the one in Hamburg is the 7th, and we would not want to lose too much time, just as I should not have to hurry you too much." Size is 5.2 x 8.1 inches, two written pages, in overall very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a visiting card with autograph lines by the soprano Lola Artôt de Padilla (1876-1933), daughter of Désirée; plus a visiting card of Désirée with an autograph letter to the music critic Maurice Kufferath, inviting him to her house in Brussels.

French soprano (1818-1870). Printed document signed by her, dated June 1, 1845, issued by the Théâtre Royal de l'Opéra Comique, stating the wages of the actors for May 1845.  Size is 7.4 x 9.5 inches, some spotted rust, in overall very good condition.

Italian soprano (1831-?). Autograph letter in Italian signed by her, dated 1854, to a composer:  "... I am beyond all words sorry not to be able for the autumn season of 1854 to propose to Mr. Pagliano, his beautiful and already approved opera, but since I have already proposed more than one to the above-mentioned, and for which he is already in very close negotiations with the respective owners (...) also for the Carnavale, my impresario has fixed all the operas in perfect agreement with the management of that theater in Verona...".   Size is 5.2 x 8.1 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), folds, overall rust tone, in very good condition. Alajmo performed at Teatro La Fenice in Venice to create the role of Violetta in the premiere of La Traviata in Venice in 1853. Verdi objected and opted for Fanny Salvini-Donatelli. Alajmo later performed this role among many others in her repertoire.

Star Peruvian tenor (b.1973), famous for his interpretations of Bel Canto operas. Double CD album for the recording of Bellini's opera "La Sonnambula" featuring J.D. Florez and Cecilia Bartoli, signed by him on the front cover. Size is 5.6 x 4.8 inches, in excellent condition.

Star Spanish lyric soprano (1923-2005) and recitalist whose career began after the Second World War and reached its height in the years from the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s. Beautiful black-and-white photograph signed and inscribed by her with a short sentiment in Spanish, here shown as Manon in Massenet's opera. Size is 4.75 x 6.5 inches, in excellent condition.

American mezzo-soprano (1938-1993), British mezzo-soprano (1941-2022), German Tenor (1936-2007). Fine black-and-white photograph signed by the three artists, here shown in Mozart's opera "La Clemenza di Tito"; ink-stamped on verso by photographer Ellinger (Salzburg). Size is 3.9 x 5.9 inches approx., in very good condition.

German-Czech bass (1878-1944), of Jewish ancestry, died in a Nazi concentration camp in Lodz, Poland. Fine black-and-white photograph mounted on cardboard signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment in German, here shown as Beckmesser in Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. Size is 3.25 x 5.25 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian bass (1893-1983), who enjoyed a long and distinguished singing career in his native country and abroad. Beautiful black-and-white photograph signed by him and inscribed on verso, dated 1934; photo by A. Badodi (Milan). Size is 3.5 x 5.3 inches, in excellent condition.

Star Irish tenor (1884-1945), world-famous for his recordings and performances of opera as well as popular songs.  Signed photograph, shown as himself, young, inscribed and dated in 1918. It is also has a printed signature on the front of photographer Hartsook, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Size is 4.75 x 7.75 inches, in excellent condition. 

Italian dramatic coloratura soprano (1871-1940), Italian tenor (1870-1940), Italian baritone (1876-1950), all leading opera stars of the early twentieth century and famous Italian opera impresario (1869-1940), who was the manager of La Scala (1898-1908) and the Met Opera for 27 years (1908-1935).  Beautiful postcard showing a seaside view of Trieste with signatures from each of these great artists. Signatures on verso. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, small tear on bottom left and small crack near the middle of image, not affecting signatures, otherwise in very good condition.

Legendary German Wagnerian soprano (1872-1932),  signature cut matted with a vintage postcard photograph of her as Isolde in Richard Wagner's Tristan und Isolde.  Signature cut is 1.5 x 3 inches, the photo is 3.25 x 5. inches, total item size is 7 x 10 inches, small mounting traces on verso, beautiful well preserved vintage item in excellent condition.
