French soprano (1801-1863), later teacher, particularly associated with Rossini roles and also operas by Meyerbeer and Auber, premiering some of them. Set of 2 autograph letter signed, in French (untranslated), both 1 pages in length, one of these dated in 1848, size is 4 x 5.25 inches, the other is on a larger sheet of 8.25 x 11 inches, dated in 1838, very clear handwriting with much of the text possibly written by another hand but with her clear signature, some rust on the far edges of the sheet but not affecting text or signature.  Not sold separately. Rare vintage items!

Star Canadian soprano (1847-1930), and one of the leading singers of the late 19th-early 20th centuries.  Signed photograph, shown as herself, dated in 1889. The 6 x 8.75 inch photo is mounted onto paper, total item size is 6.75 x 10 inches, vintage item in excellent condition. 

French mezzo-soprano and influential singing teacher (1882-1946). Signed vintage photograph of her in the title role of Edgar Tinel's opera Katharina, a role she performed in the world premiere production in Brussels in February 1909. Photo is inscribed and is dated in 1909. Photo size is 5 x 8.5 inches, mounted onto cardboard, total item is 6 x 9.5 inches, rare vintage item in excellent condition. 

Italian-born American soprano (1909-2014), who sang at the Met Opera for over 25 years. Albanese was noted for her performances of Verdi and Puccini roles, later in her life worked to help young musicians and singers. Signed photograph, shown in the title role of Puccini's Madama Butterfly, size is 8 x 10 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED: signed Opera News magazine program/cast page of a 1958 radio broadcast of Puccini's La Boheme from the Metropolitan Opera, New York with her signature on the photo of her as Mimi. Size of each page is 6.75 x 10 inches, in very good condition, not sold separately.

This is a 7.75 x 10 inch photo mounted onto soft cardboard, total item size is 8.5 x 11 inches, small creases and bends on the far edges of the photo, otherwise in very good condition.

Russian-born American tenor (1910-1993), signed photograph, shown as himself, inscribed. Also contains printed signature of photographer Yvonne Lieb on front. This is a 8 x 10 inch photograph mounted on soft cardboard, total item size is 8.5 x 11 inches, in very good condition. 

French dramatic soprano (1927-2007) who later became a mezzo-, excelled in both French and German repertoire.  Signed photograph, shown as Madame de Croissy, the Old Prioress in Poulenc's Dialogue des Carmelites at the Metropolitan Opera, New York (Crespin had been previously best known for her earlier performance of Madame Lidoine, the New Prioress, in the premiere of the French version of the opera first presented in Paris in June 1957). Photo by James Heffernan, Metropolitan Opera. Romanian soprano (b.1939) who sang a wide variety of roles from the 1960's to the 1980's and was much admired for her acting skills and facility for singing opera in many different languages. Signed photograph, shown as Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata, one of her most celebrated roles with Placido Domingo as Alfredo at the Metropolitan Opera, New York. Size is 8 x 10 inches, in excellent condition.

Bulgarian soprano (b. 1949), also known as Marina Mader-Todorova. Signed photograph, shown in the title role of Puccini's Tosca, inscribed, dated in 1984. Size is 4.25 x 6.75 inches, in excellent condition.

German super star soprano (1806-1854) of international fame. Sontag was the soprano of choice for the soprano solo in the world premiere of Beethoven´s 9th Symphony and in his Missa Solemnis. Sontag also created the title role in Euryanthe, opera by Carl Maria von Weber, later in 1854 Sontag sang Mexico´s national anthem for the first time. Signature on card, dated by her in Normanton, December 23rd, 1849. Size is 4.4 x 3.3 inches, trimmed from a larger format, probably an album page. Small hole, not affecting the signature, in very good condition. Autographs of Sontag are very rare.
