American soprano of Swedish-Hungarian descent Astrid Varnay (1918-2006) and Swedish star soprano Birgit Nilsson (1918-2005), both celebrated for their interpretations of the dramatic soprano roles of Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss. Double signed photograph, shown in costumes of unidentified roles, possibly backstage. Size is 4 x 5.75 inches, in excellent condition. Rare photo of these two legendary artists together!

Romanian soprano (1904-1992), who sang mainly in Italy at the Rome Opera House and the United States in the Met Opera of New York. Contains printed signature of photographer Bruno of Hollywood and New York City. Size is 8 x 10.25 inches, very small crease on bottom left, otherwise in excellent condition.

Hungarian soprano (1882-1924).  Signed photograph, shown in role, inscribed in Milan, dated in 1910. Photo by C. Griggi photography studio, Milan, embossed to the left of the photo. This is a 6.5 x 8.75 inch photo mounted onto a mat, a small part of the inscripition is on the photo itself, the remainder is on the bottom of the mat. Total item size is 9.5 x 12.25 inches, slight creases on the edges of the mat, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Dutch-born French baritone (1866-1926). Signed Autograph, shown as himself, inscribed and dated in 1915. Soprano, most likely of Italian origin, signed photograph, shown in role at the Teatro Rittori, Verona (possibly as Puccini's Tosca), extensively inscribed. This a 7.5 x 11.25 inch photo mounted onto soft cardboard, total item size is 9.5 x 13.5 inches, slight tears on far edges of the photo, otherwise in excellent condition.

Portugese soprano of Italian origin (1871-1965), whose full name was Regina Isabel Luisa Pacini Quintero, was the daughter of the Italian baritone Pietro Andrea Giorgi-Pacini. She later married the Argentine politician Marcelo Torcuato de Alvear, future President of Argentina, and thus eventually became the First Lady of Argentina.  Signed photograph, shown as herself, inscribed, and dated in Paris in 1906. This is a 8.75 x 11.75 inch photo, beautifully preserved in a 9 x 12 inch cardboard folder with a carbon sleeve between the cardboard page and the photo. Spanish soprano, opera, and zarzuela singer (1895-1981). Signed photograph, shown in role, extensively inscribed and dated in Madrid in 1916. Photo by Pascual Rey.  This is a 6.25 x 9 inch photograph mounted onto soft cardboard for a total size of 9.75 x 13.75 inches; signature and inscription are on the cardboard underneath the photo. There is a large tear on the bottom left of the cardboard and some paper loss on the other edges along with some creases and wear, the photo itself is  in excellent condition. 

Spanish soprano, opera, and zarzuela singer (1895-1981). Signed photograph, shown in title role of Verdi's Aida, inscribed and dated in 1918.  This is a 5.25 x 9 inch photograph mounted onto soft cardboard for a total size of 7.75 x 12.25 inches; the signature is mostly on the photograph itself, with some additional text on the cardboard underneath. Blind stamped on cardboard by photographer Calvache, Madrid. Some creases on the cardboard, photo itself has small silvering on top right, otherwise  in excellent condition. 

Polish soprano (1869-1931).  Signed photograph, shown as herself, inscribed. Beautiful vintage item with bold handwriting and signature. Photo by Varischi and Artico photographers, Milan. This is a 5.5 x 8.75 inch photo mounted onto larger cabinet backing, total item size is 9 x 13 inches, very slight creases on edges, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Polish soprano (1869-1931).  Signed photograph, shown most likely as herself, inscribed in Brescia, dated in 1903. This is a 5.5 x 8.75 inch photo mounted onto cardboard, handwriting and signature are not on the photograph itself but the surrounding cardboard area both to the left of and beneath the photo. This is a 7 x 9.25 inch photograph mounted onto soft cardboard. Total item size is 9.5 x 13.25 inches, small tear at very top left of the cardboard (not the photograph itself), otherwise in excellent condition. 

Famous Italian baritone (1858-1918), with an important international career. One of the finest singers of his time, he created the roles of Ford in the world premieres of Verdi´s Falstaff and Schaunard in Puccini´s La Boheme. Signed photograph, shown as himself, extensively inscribed and signed at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 1912. Bold handwriting and signature. Printed signature on front of photographer A. Dumont. Size is 5 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

American contralto (1892-1935) who debuted in The Metropolitan Opera in 1913 when she was 21. Fine sepia photograph signed and inscribed by her, shown as herself (printed signature on front of photographer C. Mishkin, New York). Size is 5 x 7 inches, slight paper loss on edges, otherwise in excellent condition.

Photo size is 5 x 7.5 inches, mounted onto a cabinet, total item size is 5 x 8.5 inches, very slight paper loss on top left and bottom right edges of the cabinet (not the photo itself), otherwise in excellent condition.

Italian baritone (1858-1926), sang throughout Italy and made guest appearances at the Royal Opera Convent Garden, among other theatres. Following his 1910 retirement, became a leading voice teacher, one of his most prominent pupils was the well known bass Tancredi Pasero. Very attractive signed vintage photograph mounted onto a cabinet, shown in the title role of Verdi's Falstaff, inscribed in Naples, dated in 1897. Bold handwriting and signature. Photo size is 5.75 x 8.25 inches mounted onto larger cabinet designed by Giulio Rossi, Milan. Total item size is 6.75 x 9.75 inches, one small bullet hole outside of the photo area, otherwise in excellent condition.

Italian soprano (1853-1939), called "la piccola Malibran" (the little Malibran), a comparison to the legendary Spanish soprano Maria Malibran. Signed photograph, shown as herself, signature on verso (as "G.
