Stamped on verso by photographer Lazaro Sudak, Buenos Aires. Very striking pose with clear handwriting and signature. Size is 7 x 9 inches with small cracks at top edge of photo but otherwise in very good condition.

Slumber scene, etching and engraving by Nicolas Cochin (1610-1686) after Giacomo Torelli (1608-1686). The stage setting designed by Torelli for this early comic opera by Francesco Sacrati, composed in Venice in 1641 - one of the earliest comic operas. The Paris production of 1645, illustrated here, was the first attempt of any importance to introduce Italian opera into France. Fine impression with small margins, size is 9.9 x 12.9 inches, excellent condition - rare!.

Scottish naval officer (1775-1860), peer, mercenary, and politician, nicknamed by Napoleon as "the Sea Wolf". Autograph letter signed by him and dated in Paris, on June 19, 1812, about politics and the importance of acquiring steam vessels. Size is 7.2 x 8.6 inches, 3 written pages in one folded sheet, in overall very good condition.

(1969) signed by him on the cover; authentication sticker by JSA on verso over the lower-right border. Size is 12.25 x 12.25 inches, some wear, in overall good condition. Lot of 5 signed photos, including 3 cabinet photos, shown in role in Le Jongleur de Notre Dame, Rigoletto, and Tosca, and 2 additional photos shown as himself. Cabinet photos are each 4.25 x 6.5 inches with additional very attractive images advertising the photographers and photo studios on verso (see scans). The other photos include one 5 x 7 inch item and a 3.5 x 5.5 inch photo postcard with a fairly faded image. All are in excellent condition, sold only as lot. 

Exceptional 1911 cabinet photograph of the distinguished French tenor (1850–1925), signed and inscribed by the artist with a long sentiment dated in Paris. This beautiful cabinet photo was produced by Fricam Fils & Hauser of Geneva and features Codou in Massenet’s opera Le Jongleur de Notre-Dame. Measuring 4.25 x 6.5 inches, this photograph is in very good condition.
