Romanian actor (1869-1924) who became a star in Parisian theatre, recipient of accolades for his interpretation in tragedy and comedy. Nice extra-large Imperial cabinet photograph by Cautin & Berger (Paris) signed by De Max, shown as the Duc de Reichstadt in Edmond Rostand's play L'Aiglon. Size is 8.7 x 12.6 inches, in excellent condition.

American mezzo (1891-1989), signed photo, shown in title role of Bizet's Carmen. Signed at the San Carlo Opera Company, dated 1923. Inscribed. Size is 8 x 9.5 inches with slight wear on edges but otherwise in very good condition.

Signed photograph, shown in the title role of Bizet's Carmen, inscribed in Italian at the San Carlo Opera company, dated in 1921. Size is 7.5 x 10 inches, some creases and bends, as well as rust stains on verso, otherwise in good condition.

Typed quotation signed by her, taken from her 1958 autobiography and Promenade Home, in which she provides an account of her life during the war and how she was inspired by a young pianist who lived above her. Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, light overall rust tone, creases and folds, in overall very good condition.

French count and composer (1831-1916), and descendant of the politician and writer Count Joseph Chérade de Montbron (1768-1854). Set of two autograph letters in French signed by him, one of them dated December 19, 1874, addressing the harpist Coraly Gatayes (1840-1913): “…voulez vous me permettre, en souvenir du plaisir que j’ai eu à vous entendre sur la harpe, de vous envoyer une recueil de mélodies pour le chant…”.  Different sizes, lengths, and conditions (see scans provided for a detailed view).
