American soprano (1880-1925), whose real name was Bernice James, married to Italian tenor Pietro de Pasquali, who managed an opera troupe, with her as the principal soprano. Fine photograph shown as herself boldly signed with a text. Photograph is stamped on verso by photographer Mishkin, New York. Size is 6 x 9.25 inches, a small piece is missing on the top left and right corners, otherwise in excellent condition.

French soprano (1887-1931). Autograph note signed by her, dated on March 14, 1920, thanking a fan.  Size is 4.4 x 6.9 inches, with collector's letterhead, central fold, in excellent condition.

Brother of star tenor Jean De Reszke and of soprano Josephine De Reszke. Autograph letter signed, 5 x 7.5 inches, 2 pages, written in French, sold untranslated, with a handwritten transcription also in French on 2 sides of a single 3 x 5 card. ALSO INCLUDED: 1 unsigned 5 x 7.5 inch half-tone photo, shown as Mephistopheles in Gounod's Faust, one of his most celebrated roles. Very slight tear on the middle fold of the letter, otherwise all items are in excellent condition. Not sold separately.

Signed album page containing signatures of several leading opera singers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century - the front side contains signatures from Polish bass Edouard De Reszke (1853-1917), dated in 1899, along with his brother Polish tenor Jean De Reszke (1850-1925), and the Dutch-born French baritone Henri Albers (1866-1926), also dated in 1899. Verso contains signature of American soprano Lucille Hill, dated in 1900. Size is 6.25 x 7.75 inches, in excellent condition.

Set of two very attractive unsigned cabinet photographs, one of each artist: both shown as themselves by photographer Felix Nadar, Paris. Polish star tenor (1850-1925). Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Deauville Villa Elisabeth, September 2, 1910, to a friend, recommending a pupil: “…Vi raccomando caldamente la mia cara e distinta allieva la signorina Le Flaguais. Cercate di procurarle una buona scrittura perché la merita. Ha talento, bellissima voce ed ha terminato da me gli studi, con massima lode…”. Odette Le Flaguais, a very popular singer in America, was born in Paris and raised in London, she was a descendant of Spanish Louisiana governor Francisco Bouligny, and her grandfather was congressman John Edward Bouligny.  She studied in Italy and Spain, in her youth. Size is 4.5 x 7 inches, 1 written page, central fold, in very good condition.

Star Polish tenor (1850-1925), renowned internationall, was one of the biggest male opera stars in his time. Beautiful matted set - Card signed by him with a short sentiment, dated in 1896 - Matted together with an original Metropolitan Opera playbill from the late 1890s announcing an upcoming performance of Les Huguenots with Jean De Rezske as Raoul de Nangis, his brother Edouard as Marcello, Pol Plancon as the Count of San Bris, Lillian Nordica as Valentine, Nellie Melba as Margherita di Valois - quite a cast!. Also part of the mat set is a half-tone photo of De Rezske as Raoul. Overal size is 17 x 16.25 inches, card is 3.25 x 1.75 inches (visible window size), playbill is 4 x 7.5 inches (visible size) and photo is 6.75 x 9.25 inches - in excellent condition!

Polish star tenor (1850-1925). Nice vintage cabinet photograph of him shown as Rodrigue in Massenet's "Le Cid" by photographer Benque (Paris), mounted on a mat. Total size is 7.25 x 9.5 inches, actual photo is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, with some damage and minor loss of paper in all four corners.  

Polish brothers, both signers were internationally acclaimed and super stars at the Metropolitan Opera for years. Jean was a tenor (1850-1925) and Edouard a bass (1853-1917). Signatures from both on a piece of an album leaf, romboid shape. Size is 5 x 4.75 inches.

Polish soprano (1855-1891), sister of the singers Jean and Edouard, and performed at the Paris Opera for several years where she created the role of Sita in Massenet's "Le Roi de Lahore" in 1877. Set of two fine autograph letters  in French (untranslated) signed by her, no years, as follows: A. Warsow, July 19th. To a gentleman: “…à l’heure qu’il est, Monsieur P… a reçu toutes mes conditions nécessaires pour le contrat envoyées par Monsieur Sbriglia, qui est chargé pour le moment de toutes ces affaires théâtrales…”.  B. Paris, March 13th. To a gentleman: “…je désirais vivement vous voir au prémier rang des auditeurs du Roi de Lahore…”.  Size is 5.1 x 8.1 inches each page, 5 written pages in total, printed monogram, folds, some dirt stains, in overall good condition.
