French librettist (1799-1875). Collection of four autograph letters in French (untranslated) signed by him, one of them dated April 26, 1875. Letters are addressed to Monsieur Montigny, Monsieur Laforgue, and others, concerning theater lodges and private meetings with the Comte de Gouvy. One letter concern a correction in a text of one his work: "...j'y ai fait faire peu de changement, et au lieu de j'y ai fait fort peu de changements...". Different sizes and lengths, in very good condition or better (see scans provided). SOLD TOGETHER, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

French composer (1845-1926) member of the “Enfants d’Apollon”. Set of two autograph letters in French (untranslated) signed by him, no date, addressed to the pianist Albert Hu, concerning music performances. We report an extract as a sample: “…je me trouve avoir jeudi prochain 13 février, chez Mlle [Ivan] Kireïevski (…) une matinée où l’on interprètera plusieurs morceaux de chant de moi. L’idée me vient que ce serait une occasion de faire entendre devant un public toujours nombreux et attentif ma romance pour violon et ma Sérénade executé par Mr. Albert Hû…”.   Sizes is 5.1 x 6.4 inches, 1 page; and 3.8 x 4.8 inches, 3 written pages in one folded sheet; both in very good condition. Spanish virtuoso violinist (1844-1908) and also famous composer, some violin show pieces he created are widely performed today. Autograph letter signed, written in Spanish (sold untranslated), thanking a fan for an autograph of Felix Mendelsson that he recieved as a gift, dated in London in 1885. Two pages each one is 3.5 x 4.5 inches, in excellent condition. Also included is the envelope.

Size is 5.7 x 7.7 inches, minor silvering (probably trimmed over the bottom), otherwise in very good condition.

Signed photograph, shown as General Tanaroff in The Red Dance, a 1928 American synchronized sound film directed by Raoul Walsh, inspired by the novel by Henry Leyford Gates, set in Russia at the time of the Bolshevik Revolution. Dated in Hollywood in 1948. Printed signature on front of photographer Autrey. Size is 8 x 10 inches, several creases on corners and mounting traces on verso, otherwise in very good condition.

Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, to a gentleman, concerning an upcoming concert: "...Je mis tout à votre disposition – Nous n'avons qu'à vous entendre pour le programme et le choix des artistes. Voulez-vous, quad vous passez par Montmartre que nous causions aux 4 d'Arts. Mille amities pour Richepin et pour vous...".   Total open size is 9 x 6.9 inches, 1 written page, creases, folds, dust stains, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a short printed biography of De Sivry attached to the fourth page.

French soprano, also known as "Mademoiselle de Taisy", a frequent performer at the Paris Opera  Comique. Autograph letter signed, 1 page, dated in 1864, written in French and sold untranslated. Signed as "Mademoiselle de Taisy." Size is 5.25 x 8 inches, some biographical information penciled in below the text, in very good condition.

Size is 8 x 10.75 inches, some rust on edges and borders, but text is very clear with bold handwriting and signature. Very rare and unique historical item!

Spanish essayist (1864-1936), novelist, poet, playwright, philosopher, professor of Greek and Classics, and later rector at the University of Salamanca. Autograph letter in Spanish (sold untranslated) signed by him and dated in Salamanca, September 10, 1900, addressed to the Argentine politician Estanislao S. Zeballos, sharing his opinion on Dante Alighieri and the magazine "Revista de Literatura".  Size is 8.2 x 10.5 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and verso), folds, minor cracks, some stains, in overall excellent condition.

Daughter of the star Italian soprano Angelica Catalani (1811-1849), Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by her, no date, where she addresses a gentleman: “Voici, mon cher monsieur, la fin d'une lettre de ma mère à mon père qui la suivit jusqu'à la tombe un mois plus tard!”. Angelica Catalani and her husband Paul de Valabregue both died in 1849 within a few days.  Size is 3.6 x 5.3 inches, one written page, central fold, in very good condition.
