Signed contract with CBS, for the right to perform one of his compositions, dated in 1938, boldly signed by Herrmann at the bottom. Wiesbaden 27 October 1908, to an editor, giving biographical details and thanking him for his availability. B. July 16, 1888, to a gentleman, inviting him on behalf of Mrs. Wagner to his upcoming performances.  Sizes are 5.3 x 6.6 inches, 3 written pages in one folded sheet, folds, rust stains, in very good condition (1908), and 5.6 x 8.6 inches, 1 page, with letterhead, in very good condition. Set of two autograph letters in French (untranslated) signed by him, one of them is dated 1856.  Letters concerns a rescheduled lesson and the acquaintance of the musicians Frantz Louis Matz and Madame Matz for the Londoner publish Chappel. We report an extract as a sample: “….j’ai joué et fait entendre à quelques notabilités de Boulogne le dernier instrument que vous avez envoyé à Mr. Matz, Madame Matz, que j’ai vu ce matin…”. 3 pp. In-8. Austro-Hungarian journalist (1860-1904), playwright, political activist and writer, the father of the modern political Zionism, the movement that promotes the Jewish immigration to what is today Israel. Herzl died in 1904 at age 44, over 4 decades before the creation of the state of Israel, yet he is widely considered the spiritual father of the Jewish State for his visionary work. Typed letter signed in German, provided with a translation, dated in Vienna, Dec 17th, 1902. As chairman of the World Zionist Organization, Herzl reports to the membership on the hiring of Theodor Hirsch, from Konigsburg, Prussia, as manager of the Jewish Colonial Bank in London. Letter has a second signature, of the person who typed it, and an ink stamp of the Jewish Colonial Trust. Letter incorporates text from a Nov. 23rd, 1902 letter by David Wolffsohn (1856-1914), Herzl´s associate, a central figure of the Jewish Colonial Trust and later Herzl´s successor as President of the World Zionist Organization. Incorporated in London in 1899, the Jewish Colonial Bank eventually would evolve into the National Bank of Israel after the independence. One page, 8.4 x 10.8 inches, scattered light foxing, central fold, overall uniform age toning, some repairs on verso, in very good condition.
