I have the honor to pay you homage with a copy of an elementary treatise on modern harmony, which I have just published (...) the reading of your treatise on harmony is a real epoch in my life. This reading completely changed my ideas about what might be called the metaphysics of music, by showing me very clearly something that I was only glimpsed...".
