German soprano (1843-1896). Beautiful vintage carte-de-visite (CDV) of the soprano by photographer Montabone (Milan). Size is 2.4 x 3.9 inches, in very good condition.

German baritone (1788-1856) and actor, was an important singer who created several roles in operas by Spontini and Meyerbeer, but most importantly created the role of Caspar in the world premiere of Der Freischütz by Weber. Autograph letter signed, one page, undated and handwritten only on one side, 8 x 10.5 inches. In German, sold untranslated, some rust toning over the borders, otherwise in excellent condition.

Polish pianist (1908-1991) who was one of the few women born in the first quarter of the 20-th century to have achieved an important career as a concert pianist. Fine black-and-white photograph signed and inscribed by her with a long sentiment dated in Santa Fe (Argentina), 1945. Size is 4.1 x 6.3 inches, in excellent condition.

German composer (1827-1901) and also conductor and music theorist. Beautiful black-and-white photo postcard signed by him with a long message in German next to his image, dated in Berlin, 1900. Size is 5.5 x 3.6 inches, in excellent condition.

Birdice Blye Richardson (aka Birdie Blye) (1871-1935) was a famous American female pianist. A prodigy child, she later toured through American and European theaters giving concerts, focusing on teaching later in life. Interesting collection of over 35 autograph letters to her, including over 20 by her husband, William (Dickie) B. S. Richardson, whom she married in 1901, and a short music quote by him as well - and other personalities. These include American Historian John Clark Ridpath (1840-1900), a couple handwritten by her mother, and others by unidentified senders. Various sizes, with most around 5 x 8 inches, some several pages, all in English, all in very good condition. Unfortunately, no letters handwritten by her. Sold as a lot only, not sold separately.

French actor (1799-1863), whose real name was Pierre-Martinien Tousez.Set of 2 autograph letters in French signed by him; one of them dated 1861 where he offers some professional advice, and the other (not shown) about a personal dispute. Size is 5.2 x 8 inches, sold without translation, creases, in very good condition.

Argentine ballet dancer (b.1967), one of the most important ballet dancers of the latter part of the 20th century, and probably the most important Argentine dancer of all time. Signed book "Julio Bocca - Body and Soul Images", published by his foundation, with numerous color photos, 8.6 x 11.75 inches, some text, in both English and Spanish. Signature is on the cover, where he added the year 2000. A couple of pages are lose, otherwise in excellent condition.

Italian soprano (1828-1922), autograph letter signed, posted in Bologna in 1853, in Italian, sold untranslated. Size is 5.25 x 8.5 inches, one page, in very good condition.

Italian soprano (1828-1922), later singing teacher, belonging to a family of singers (mother, sisters and brother were also singers), Boccabadati was famous in her time and even was considered by Verdi for the title role in the world premiere of La Traviata in 1853. Signed lithograph with a large portrait of her, labeled as the Prima Donna assoluta of the Teatro di Modena, season 1853-54, with a short sentiment by her. Size is 10.75 x 15.25 inches, some repaired cracks, rust and overall age toning, in good condition.

Italian soprano (1854-1920), daughter of famous baritone Felice Varesi, she later opened a singing school in Chicago following her retirement from the stage.  Autograph note signed, 1 page written in English, dated in Chicago in 1894.  Size is 8 x 11 inches, small tear on top left outside area of handwriting and signature, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Italian composer and cellist (1743-1805) of the classic era, highly popular in his time and better known today for his String Quartets and Cello Concertos.  Boccherini created a large amount of music for cello, violin, guitar, and other string instruments, as well as some for piano and winds, symphonies, a few theatrical works, and two oratorios. Rare, truly amazing contract in Spanish for the composition of 3 quartets in his own hand, for the Coliseo de Los Caños del Peral (now Teatro Real in Madrid), which will be added to his catalog (of his works for this theater), mentioning an opera (which we believe is actually his zarzuela "Clementina", performed a few years later at this theater). The contract is dated at the bottom on February 13th, 1794, tax stamp at the top indicates the same year. Signed at the bottom by an official and by Boccherini, who added: "Luigi Boccherini, mano propria - sei quartetini and piccola opera" ("Luigi Boccherini, own hand - 6 small quartets and a small opera"). One page of hand-made paper, 8.5 x 12.25 inches, water stains over the left side not affecting the composer´s signature and writing, which is on the other side. Central fold, in overall very good condition. Autographs of Boccherini are exceedingly rare, sell at very high prices, and this is only the second one we have seen in the market in over a decade. Priced at a bargain price.
