French composer and very prolific songwriter (1856-1904).  Autograph note signed in Paris, dated in 1892. Written in French, sold untranslated. 1 album page. Size is 5 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer (1859-1923), conductor, and Instrumental Ensemble teacher at the Conservatoire. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Paris, February 10, 1921, to a gentleman: “…Êtant, moi-même, professeur au Conservatoire, il ne m’est pas possible, vous le comprendrez, de vous donner ma opinion sur son fonctionnement…”. Open size is 10.7 x 8.4 inches, 2 written pages in one folded sheet, letterhead from "Association des Concerts Lamoureux", folds, few creases, in very good condition.

French composer (1859-1923) and conductor. Fine autograph letter in French (sold untranslated) signed by him. Size is 5.2 x 8.25 inches, 2 written pages in 1 folded sheet, folds, in overall very good condition.

Italian composer (1866-1950), well-known for his operas Adriana Lecouvreur and L'Arlesiana. Typed note with a short greeting in Italian signed by him. Size is 5.6 x 8.3 inches, 1 page, in excellent condition.

English composer (1886-1957) of light music. Typed letter in English signed by him, dated January 1st, 1938, to the BBC Orchestra’s percussionist Frederick Herbert Wheelhouse, assuring that if he “...ever take on an orchestra of my own I will certainly get into touch with you”.  Size is 7.9 x 9.8 inches, 1 page, central fold, some creases, with letterhead, in overall excellent condition. French composer, musicologist, music critic, and music writer (1819-1898).  Autograph letter signed, dated in Paris in 1888, 1 page, written in French and sold untranslated. Size is 5.25 x 8.25 inches, several small stains outside of the text area, otherwise in very good condition. 

American composer (1917-2004) and music theorist. Short essay signed and inscribed by him on the front cover. Size is 6.8 x 9.75 inches, in excellent condition.

Romanian-born French composer and conductor (1925-2004), pupil of Messiaen, Boulanger, and Honnegger at the Conservatoire. Nice autograph note in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Paris January 6, 1993, to the organist and writer Jean Leduc (1933-2012), concerning the recordings of “3 portraits” for cello and piano.  Size is 8.2 x 11.6 inches, folds, few creases, irregularly cut top border, in overall excellent condition.

Italian composer (1857-1953), a pupil of Eugenio Terziani at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and among the founders of the Bach Society in 1903. Autograph music quote with 3 bars signed and inscribed for him with a short sentiment. Size is 6.75 x 2.5 inches, overall rust tone, in very good condition.

Italian-born conductor (1808-1884) and composer who achieved success in England. 3-bar autograph music quote from a setting of Psalm 30 signed by him with a short quote. Size is 4 x 2.75 inches, in excellent condition.

William George Cusins, English composer, pianist, violinist and conductor (1833-1893), was also organist and music teacher. Cusins toured extensively through Europe as a pianist and as a composer. Autograph music quote signed, dated by him in 1879, inscribed, from an unknown piece. Size is 7 x 4.5 inches, mounting traces on verso, in excellent condition

Scottish-born German composer and pianist (1864-1932), who created the famous opera Tiefland. Autograph note in German on a postcard signed by him, dated in  Berlin, 1909, to Wilhelm Barlösius in Berlin, writing that he unfortunately won’t be able to meet him. Size is 5.4 x 3.5 inches, some dirt, in overall very good condition.

Italian composer (1830-1890) and journalist. 4-bar autograph music quote with lyrics from an unknown piece signed by him in Rome, 1886. Size is 8.6 x 2.6 inches, in excellent condition.

German-born American conductor (1862-1950) and composer, is best remembered today as the long-time director of the New York Symphony Orchestra.  Printed score for his ballad for baritone and men's chorus titled "Danny Deever", signed by him on the front cover.  Size is 9.25 x 12.1 inches, 12 pages (including covers), in very good condition.

French composer (1790-1853) and dramatist, author of hit songs including "Le Pardon" and "Dormez" and the famous Leçon de valse du petit François (1834) sung in cabarets for over a century and two opéras. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by her, dated in Paris, February 7, 1878, addressed to the director of the Théâtre de l'Odéon Félix Duquesnel (1832-1915), concerning the pupil Firmin Delille: "...ancien élève de [Pierre-François] Beauvallet, désire obtenir une audition à l'Odéon...". At the fourth page, autograph note by Delille concerning de Beauplan.  Open size is 10.6 x 8.3 inches, 2 written pages in one folded sheet, letterhead from "Ministère de L'Instruction", folds, creases, dirt stains, in overall good condition.

Dutch pianist (1856-1932), pianist, and composer who spent most of his life in Cuba and was the founder of the National Conservatory of Cuba. Set of two regular postcards signed by him in Havana, 1918. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches each, in excellent condition. SOLD TOGETHER, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

Portuguese conductor and composer (1869-1924). Album page signed by the composer on August 1923 with a 3-bar music quote from an unknown piece. Size is 8.6 x 6.9 inches, minor stains, in excellent condition.

French count and composer (1831-1916), and descendant of the politician and writer Count Joseph Chérade de Montbron (1768-1854). Set of two autograph letters in French signed by him, one of them dated December 19, 1874, addressing the harpist Coraly Gatayes (1840-1913): “…voulez vous me permettre, en souvenir du plaisir que j’ai eu à vous entendre sur la harpe, de vous envoyer une recueil de mélodies pour le chant…”.  Different sizes, lengths, and conditions (see scans provided for a detailed view). Size is 8.5 x 10.8 inches approx., 2 written pages, folds, rust stains, storage holes, otherwise in very good condition.

German composer (1911-1995), whose works include educational chamber music in modern style, resembling Hindemith. Two autograph music quotes signed by him with a short text and dated 1984 on a music sheet; one of them with 2 bars from his Kammersinfonie (1947) and the other with 5 bars from his Horn sonate (1978).  Size is 7.8 x 5.75 inches, in excellent condition.

German composer (1911-1995), whose works include educational chamber music in modern style.  4-bar autograph music quote from his symphonic concert signed by him and dated 1992 attached to a page. Size is 11.6 x 8.2 inches, music quote is 10.4 x 2.5 inches, in very good condition.

American composer (1913-2008) and winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1957. Beautiful 4-bar autograph music quote from his work "As of a Dream" signed by him. German-born French composer of songs (1840-1898). Autograph note in French (untranslated) signed by him and dated on January 3, 1885. Size is 4.4  7 inches, 1 page, central fold, in excellent condition.

American composer (1915-2005), creator of 11 symphonies, orchestral & chamber music, as well as works for piano and voice. Gorgeous 8-bar autograph music quote from the first movement of his Symphony #3 (1945) signed by him with a short sentiment dated 1989. Size is 7.7 x 4.8 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1873-1969) and organist; creator of numerous sacred works.  Autograph music quote with 6 bars from his "Storm King Mountain" Symphony, signed and dated by him in 1931.  Size is 5.8 x 3.2 inches, overall age-toning, otherwise in very good condition.

Portuguese composer (1874-?). Autograph letter in Portuguese signed by him, dated October 14, 1922, mentioning some of his accomplishments and accolades as a composer and some of his works.  Size  Size is 8.4 x 10.6 inches, 1 page, translation not included, central fold, in excellent condition. German composer (1878-1942), musicologist, and music critic. Typed letter in German signed by him, dated 1922, whereas General Secretary of the Festivals Internationaux à Zurich, Draber wrote to the director of La Scala in Milan [Angelo Scandiani] inviting him to the concerts organized by the Comité in May.  Size is 8.2 x 10.8 inches, central fold, storage holes, in excellent condition.

Argentine pianist (1882-1925) and composer, a pupil of Alberto Williams.  Autograph quote with 2 bars of music from Wagner's Siegfried, signed and dated by him in Buenos Aires, 1917.  Size is 5.5 x 3.6 inches, in very good condition.

Austrian violinist (1850-1925) and composer, who founded and led a successful salon orchestra in the tradition of the Strauss orchestra. 7-bar autograph music quote from the composer's aria "Du nur allein" Op.122, signed by him, dated in Vienna, May 4, 1915. Size is 4.4 x 3.3 inches, some dirt, in overall excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an autograph note signed, dated 1916, to a theater director concerning a waltz. 

American composer (1863-1936) whose music was used in the art competition at the 1932 Summer Olympics. Autograph letter in English with his letterhead, signed by him, no date (postal markings indicate the year 1915). Size is 8.3 x 8.9 inches, 1 written page, folds, otherwise in excellent condition. German-born composer (1824-1893), musical director and educator who worked mostly in the USA.  Signed card, size is 4.1 x 2.6 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1926-1972), organist, and conductor who was primarily active during the 1940s to 1960s. Printed score for his work for organ Peaceful Waters signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment on the cover. Size is 9.25 x 12.25 inches, 4 pages, in excellent condition.

Austrian composer (1874-1949). Autograph note in German on a postcard with his portrait by Anna Walt, signed by him to Herrn Viener clarifying that he was born on March 12, 1874 in Vienna. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, evident crease over the lower-right corner, in excellent condition.

American composer (1872-1952), conductor, educator, and music publisher. A composer part of the Indianist movement, his works reflect his interest in a personal, esoteric form of spirituality.  Typed letter to a fan, an important autograph collector, dated in New York, 1949. Typed on a page with his letterhead (his signature, printed in blue ink), signed in ink by him at the bottom. Size is 8 x 10 inches, 1 page, storage holes, background stain, in very good condition.

French composer (1872-1948), also known for his contributions to the Grove Dictionary of Music.  Handwritten signed postcard, written in French and sold untranslated. Size is 3.5 x 4.5 inches, slight rust (mostly on verso) and one small smudge on letter, otherwise in very good condition. 

German conductor and composer (1859-1939), a noted interpreter of Brahms' music. Set of 2 autograph letters signed by him: one of the is 1 page, dated in Kiel, 1881, size is 5.5 x 8.75 inches; the second one is written on a card, dated in Hamburg, 1885, size is 4.4 x 3.5 inches.  Both are written in German (sold untranslated), both in very good condition.
