German composer (1909-2007), and an academic; pupil of Paul Hindemith at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin. 5-bar autograph music quote on a music sheet signed by him with a short sentiment.  Size is 8.1 x 5.7 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer (1850-1938) and organist. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, postmarked February 18, 1905, addressed to the poet and sculptor Georges Tattegrain (1845-1916), concerning a work in collaboration with the poet: “…Je travaille beaucoup notre cathédrale et je me fais un plaisir de vous annoncer que surtout depuis hier soir, je suis dans une très bonne vein de travail….si rien ne m’arrête, j’ai la confiances la plus complète dans la réussite de notre oeuvre…”. French composer (1850-1938) and organist. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated August 24, no year indicated, addressed to the French conductor and composer Henri Defossé (1883-1956), conductor at the Opéra: “…Excusez ce retard à vous remercier pour le grand plaisir que vous m’avez fait, en nous donnant à ma femme et à moi l’occasion de voir et entendre ce ‘Boris Godounoff’ qui contient du génial à coté de certaines pages qui n’ont pas l’air d’être du même auteur (…) ce que je n’ai pas manqué de remarquer c’est votre façon de diriger, c’est clair, précis, souple et élégant…”  Size is 6.5 x 4.9 inches, 1 written page, folds, creases, dirt stains, jagged edges, in very good condition.

Belgian composer (1828-1908) and music critic, director of Brussels Conservatory. Autograph letter in Dutch signed by him in pencil on the back of his personal card, to a gentleman concerning an upcoming meeting, Size is 3.8 x 2.25 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1872-1946) and tenor.  Printed score of one of his songs signed and inscribed by him on front cover.  Size is 10.5 x 13.6 inches, 4 pages in total including covers, cracks and minor stains, in fair condition.  Rare!!

French composer (1837-1892). Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, no date mentioned, to a colleague: “…s’il vous manque encore de 1ers violon pour la fête de l’opéra, je vous recommanderai M. Lefaure, 1er Prix du Conservatoire, membre de la Société des concerts, et ancien 1er violon de l’Opéra…”.  Size is 5.5 x 8.3 inches, 1 written page, central fold, few creaes, overall dust and rust tone, in very good condition.

Austrian composer (1864-1945), and organist. 2-bar autograph music quote from some sacred music on cardboard signed by him and dated June 16, 1915. Size is 4.4 x 3.3 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian composer (1876-1954) and teacher.  Autograph music quote on a card with 4 bars and handwritten lyrics from his opera "La Rosiera" (1927).  Size is 4.5 x 2.9 inches, minor stains, in very good condition.

American composer (1853-1943), internationally famous for teaching the theory of composition. Lot of 3 autograph notes signed and 1 signed card, plus 3 handwritten envelopes, all dated between in 1932 and 1936. Polish composer (1933-2010) of contemporary classical music. Fine card signed by him with a short sentiment in German dated 2002. Size is 5.3 x 3.3 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer (1856-1926) and conductor. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated in La Varenne, July 10, 1924, where he addresses Alfred Bloch of the Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques, concerning a concert with singers Madeleine Gutty (1870-1936) and Madame Bonhomme.  Size is 8.3 x 10.5 inches, 1 page, folds, creases, in overall very good condition.

Australian-born composer (1882-1961), arranger, and pianist. Nice card signed by him. Size is 3 x 1.75 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1908-1989). Typed letter in English signed by him, dated August 20th, 1964 to his fellow’s wife Olive: «...We missed you and Jan at Scandia after last Saturday’s concert. It was truly a delightful and happy little gathering, and it would have been even more so could you have been there...». Size is 8.3 x 10.8 inches, 1 page, two horizontal folds, with letterhead, in overall excellent condition.

American songwriter (1908-1989), composer, arranger, conductor, and pianist. Fine autograph note with a short greeting signed by him. Size is 11 x 8.5 inches, 1 page, storage holes, in excellent condition.

French composer (1844-1909). Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated June 23, 1870. Size is 7 x 8.5 inches, 3 written pages, evident stains, in overall good condition.

French operatic composer (1837-1904). Two autograph letters in French signed by him: one dated in Compiègne, November 8, 1858, and the other one from 1880 ca. Letters concern music publishing and acquaintances, one letter is addressed to the director of the Théâtre des Folies-Dramatiques in Paris Victor Blandin (1824-1898). We report two extracts as a sample: “…je vous envoi les dédicaces qui seront demain sur les trois partitions de Sophie Frandin et [Noémie]Vernon - Il est très important que ces trois dédicaces paraissent dans le courrier de Prével…”. ; “…Quelqu’un de mes amis qui a parlé de moi à M. Offenbach me previent qu’il est tout disposé à entendre mon opéra et à l’examiner avec moi…”.  SOLD TOGETHER, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

German composer (1908-1982), focused on film music. Typed letter in German (sold untranslated) signed by him, dated in October 1978, with his letterhead. Size is 8.25 x 11.7 inches, 1 page, folds, in excellent condition.

Austrian musicologist (1886-1960), who worked on behalf of the International Bruckner Society to the complete edition of Anton Bruckner’s symphonies and Masses. Autograph note in German signed by him, dated 1924, informing the schedule of the Music Department and the best time to request orientation. Size is 2.8 x 1.8 inches, no translation included, printed letterhead of the National Library, folds, in very good condition.

American composer (1896-1981), conductor, educator, music theorist, and champion of American classical music. Card with 2 bars of music from his 1939 opera "Merry Mount" signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment. Size is 5 x 3 inches, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a typed letter signed by him with the letterhead of the University of Rochester (New York). Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, in very good condition.

American composer (1896-1981), who was also conductor, educator, music theorist and champion of American classical music. Typed letter signed on the letterhead of the University of Rochester Eastman School of Music where he taught, dated in 1958 addressed to the famous music broadcaster and educator George Jellinek, unfolded size is 8.5 x 11 inches, in very well-preserved condition. ALSO INCLUDED: unsigned photo of the composer, 5 x 7 inches, in excellent condition. Not sold separately. 

English-Canadian composer (1862-1929), and also an impresario, educator, and conductor. Album page signed by him with a 2-bar music quote from his vocal work "Pan" (1904). The album page has three extra signatures belonging to the British bass Norman Allin (1884-1973), the Australia soprano Elsa Stralia (1881-1945) who signed with a short sentiment dated 1919, and another unidentified artist. Size is 6.3 x 3.5 inches, in very good condition.

American composer (1909-1998), pianist, folklorist, and music editor. Sexafold brochure signed and inscribed by him adding a short 4-bar music quote. Size is 4 x 9 inches, in excellent condition.

German baritone (1852-1916) and composer.  Autograph music quote on an album page mounted on a slightly larger piece of soft cardboard, with 4 bars of music from an unknown piece, signed by him with a short sentiment in German, dated in New York, 1885.  Total size is 5.8 x 4.9 inches, 1 page, some loss of paper, in overall good condition.

Irish-born American composer and conductor (1859-1924), best known for composing many successful operettas that premiered on Broadway from the 1890s to World War I. Business card of music fan Gladys Greeley signed by Herbert on the back with an 8-bar music quote from "Le Prima Donna" dated in November 1908. Size is 2.8 x 2 inches, mounting traces on verso, in excellent condition.

French composer (1822-1898) of light opera, notable as a friend of Jules Verne. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Paris, May 23, 1875, to a gentleman: “…je vous envoie l’autographe que vous désirez…”. Size is 5.5 x 8.3 inches, 1 written page, folds, dust stains, in overall excellent condition. Its original envelope is ALSO INCLUDED.

German composer and singer (1849-1924), his voice was of a baritone, creator of many songs. Set of 3 autographs: 1 letter on his latter head paper, 2 pages, dated in 1911, sized 5.5 x 8.25 inches; one letter, 2 pages, dated 1919, sized 8.25 x 11 inches and one letter on his personal card, written on both sides, sized 4 x 2.5 inches, (no date). French composer (1860-1909), brother of pianist Paul, pupil of Émile Durand and Jules Massenet. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Paris, February 22, 1907, to a gentleman about music matters: “…Pierné était en voyage! Il repart même aujourd’hui pour une absence de dix jour: cela t’explique pourquoi tu n’as pas reçu réponse de lui.– (…) Hélas! mon pauvre vieux, tu n’as pas un piano de marque, et tu auras le plus grand mal à le vendre…”.  Size is 7.8 x 6.1 inches, two written pages in one sheet (front and back), folds, creases, some dirt stains, in overall very good condition.

Nice autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, no date, to a lady: “…Voulez-vous bien accepter ces deux anguilles que j’ai moi-même pêchés hier dans l’Oise?…”. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, no date, where he addresses the music publisher Ricordi: “…J’ai porté Boulevard Malesherbes le 3ème acte orchestre et piano de ma partition. Czech-born classical composer and conductor (1921-2016), winner of the 1969 Pulitzer Prize for Music. Autograph music quote on a card with 1 bar from his Sonata #2 for piano signed and inscribed by him, dated September 21, 1982. Size is 5 x 3 inches, in excellent condition.

English composer (1852-1935), conductor, and pianist. Autograph note on a visiting card signed in pencil by him, no date, to a gentleman: “...There is a dreadful scandal in London at the way S... has been treating me...”. Size is 3.6 x 2.1 inches, in very good condition.

Argentine composer (1913-1988), who created music based on folk traditions. Beautiful black-and-white photo postcard shown young, signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment and a 2-bar music quote from his opera "El Oro del Inca", dated in 1953. Size is 3.3 x 5.25 inches, pinholes in all four corners, small crease, otherwise in very good condition.

French composer (1880-1965), conductor, and writer. Collection of three autograph notes in French (untranslated) on visiting cards addressed to Inghelbrecht by theater critic Jean Prudhomme (pseudonym of Jean Ricard), the pianist Raoul Bardac’s widow, the musicologist Georges de Saint-Foix.
