Recently Added Authentic Autographs and Memorabilia

A fine set of 78 unsigned photo postcards from the Munich Opera between 1918 and 1944 depicting many famous opera singers in performance or just shown in role or as themselves. Size is 3.4 x 5.4 inches each on average, in very good condition or better. SOLD ONLY AS A LOT, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

Original French medieval document in paper, continental cursive script, mid-17th century, V-shaped diplomatic document (typical of the period) with extension for wax seal (now lost), and written by a single hand. The joint between the two parts is broken. Size is 13 x 5.25 inches (section A) and 11.5 x 2.9 inches.This document, drawn up in June 1644, contains an agreement between two lords of the region of Artois (northern France), Jean du Mont-Saint-Eloy and the Lord of Liévin, in which consensus is established regarding their hierarchies, territories, and self-defense strategies.

Original French medieval document in vellum written on the hair side and with ink commonly used in continental Europe in Bastard Gothic font (a typical 15th-century style in French territory). Open size is 11.3 x 9 inches, sold as it is.Original notarial record signed by Jehan Boengut, manorial official of Parthenay, certifying a land transfer between two settlers in September 1438.

Original French medieval document in Vellum written on the hair side and with ink commonly used continental Europe, in Bastard Gothic font (a typical 15th century style in French territory). Size is 16.5 x 8.75 inches (open size). Hand-written note in pencil on the reverse, probably from the early 20th century indicates the names Payen and Cleret.This document is a notarial act describing the organization and boundaries between Saint-Maixent and Chauray, drawn up in September 1470 at the request of Jean Cléré (or Claret), Lord of Puymans (neighboring Saint-Maixent), for Pierre Payen, Lord of Chauray.

Large-sized program for a performance of Wagner's last opera "Parsifal" at the Bayreuth Festspiele in 1884, featuring Amalia Materna, and Hermann Winkelmann (the original Parsifal) with many illustrations and information in German. Size is 11.5 x 15.8 inches, 60 pages plus covers, some stains and wear on the cover, inside in excellent condition.

Italian tenor (1876-1949), who enjoyed an international career as a dramatic tenor of the first rank, becoming a respected interpreter of Otello and Pinkerton -the latter, a role he created in 1904. Gorgeous black-and-white photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment dated in London, July 27, 1908, shown as Canio in Leoncavallo's opera "Pagliacci", mounted on a mat and blind-stamped on it by photographer Foley (New York). Total size is 13 x 16 inches, in excellent condition.

Superstar Australian soprano (1926-2010), known for her contribution to the renaissance of the bel canto repertoire from the late 1950s to the 1980s. Known as "La Stupenda" was widely regarded as one of the greatest sopranos of all time. American actress (1911-1989), comedian, and studio executive; active between 1929 and 1989. Nice color glamour photograph signed by her with a short sentiment. Size is 7.9 x 10.2 inches, mounting traces on verso, in excellent condition.

American film director (1906-1987). Fine black-and-white photograph signed by him. Size is 8 x 9.75 inches, in excellent condition.

American-British petroleum industrialist and founder of Getty Oil Company. Original check signed by him, dated February 11, 1947. Size is 8.4 x 3.6 inches, storage holes, in excellent condition.

Scottish naval officer (1775-1860), peer, mercenary, and politician, nicknamed by Napoleon as "the Sea Wolf". Autograph letter signed by him and dated in Paris, on June 19, 1812, about politics and the importance of acquiring steam vessels. Size is 7.2 x 8.6 inches, 3 written pages in one folded sheet, in overall very good condition.

British statesman (1759-1806), the youngest and last prime minister of Great Britain from 1783 until the Acts of Union 1800, and then first prime minister of the United Kingdom from January 1801. Autograph letter signed by him and dated in Wimbledon, August 15, 1796, about political matters. Size is 7.25 x 8.8 inches each page, 2 written pages in one sheet, some fading, folds, small cracks, in overall very good condition.

English writer (1812-1870) and social critic, probably the greatest writer of the Victorian era. Small clip from the bottom of a letter with his signature. Size is 4.5 x 3.9 inches, small crack at the top, folds, in overall very good condition. 

English novelist (1865-1936), short-story writer, poet, and journalist. Small card signed by him. Size is 4.3 x 3.5 inches, mounting traces on verso, in excellent condition.

Field Marshal and General of the British Army (1832-1914) who became one of the most successful British military commanders of his time. Autograph note signed by him as "Roberts" dated 1905. Size is 4.5 x 6.9 inches, 1 page, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned photo postcard of him.

Senior British Army Officer (1852-1925). A small card inserted into a larger card signed by him and dated January 25, 1903.  Size is 5.7 x 3.9 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned photo postcard of him.

German admiral (1891-1980) who briefly succeeded Adolf Hitler as head of state in May 1945. Typed copy of the formal instrument of surrender of all German forces to American General Dwight Eisenhower signed by him back on May 7, 1945, and now signed by him on September 3, 1975. Size is 7.6 x 8.2 inches, 1 page, central fold, in excellent condition.

American actor (1930-1980) and racing driver; active between 1952-1980. 4-page promotional brochure for the release of the film Papillon (1973) signed by him on the first page. The brochure includes the complete cast plus the synopsis. Size is 8.5 x 10.9 inches, in excellent condition.
