Belgian tenor (1895-1973), signed and inscribed postcard photograph, shown in role.  Stamped on verso by photographer Joseph Rentmeesters, Brussels. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian baritone, signed photograph, shown as Figaro in Rossini's Barbiere di Siviglia, inscribed and dated in 1957. Printed signature on front and stamped on verso by Alfa Foto photographers, Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires. Size is 7 x 9.5 inches, small bullet holes on top left and right, otherwise in excellent condition.

German pianist (1850-1924), composer, and teacher. Very rare photographic image depicting the German pianist and his hand, dated on verso March 24, 1917; with the photographer's handwritten notes on verso.  Size is 3.5 x 4.75 inches, some evident creases, in good condition (see scans provided).

Austrian violinist (1915-2002). Regular postcard signed by him and dated in Lucern, 1952. Size is 5.8 x 4.1 inches, some creases, in overall excellent condition.

British composer (1903-1999), and artist. Fine autograph note signed by him on a postcard, dated October 26, 1966, to Ms. Carla Hinrichsen to provide him copies of his “Harp Sonatina” for his concert on the 8th of December. Size is 5.4 x 3.4 inches, printed letterhead, in excellent condition.

Canadian soprano (b.1938), a major star of the Met Opera and other international houses from the 1960s to the 1990s, sang a very broad range of repertoire. Autograph letter in English signed by her, dated Dec 16/91, to professor Patricia Lee: “...sorry for the delay. This was the first weekend in seven weeks that we were not rehearsing...”.  Size is 6.2 x 8.9 inches, in excellent condition.

German tenor (1852-1933). Beautiful cabinet photograph of him, shown as Faust in Gounod's opera, with an autograph note over the bottom; photograph by Atelier Victoria (Berlin). Size is 4.2 x 6.4 inches, in excellent condition.

German opera composer (1864-1949), considered one of the greatest of the 20th century. This very rare photographic image depicts the German composer and his hand, with the photographer's handwritten notes on verso, dated 8 April 1917. Size is 3.25 x 4.75 inches, evident folds, and creases, in good condition (see scans provided). THIS PHOTOGRAPH IS NOT SIGNED BY THE COMPOSER R. STRAUSS.

British composer (b.1938). Fine autograph letter in English signed by him, dated Oct. 31st, 1967, to Ms. Carla Hinrichsen, widow of the German music publisher Henri Hinrichsen (1868-1942, partner in Peters edition since 1894): “...It is again time to book for the composer’s guild luncheon and we both wonder if you would like to join us again this year...”. Size is 5.3 x 6.7 inches, 1 page, central fold, letterhead, in overall excellent condition.

Russian conductor and pianist (b.1938), the second child of the celebrated composer Dmitri Shostakovich, and a famous performer of his father's works. Fine black-and-white photograph signed by him with a short sentiment on verso «... Rehearsal with Sydney Symphony...», dated 1975. Size is 2.25 x 5.75 inches, in very good condition (see scans provided).

Page from a program signed by him with a short sentiment in Cyrillic, dated 1975. Size is 5.9 x 9.4 inches, 1 page, folds, irregularly cut left border, some dust stains, in overall very good condition.

Spanish baritone (1842-1906), celebrated for his role as Don Giovanni in Mozart's opera. Fine carte-de-visite (CDV) photograph of him by photographer Jan Mieczkowski (Warsaw). Size is 2.4 x 4.1 inches, in excellent condition.

Hungarian soprano (1911-1999), known for Mozart and other lyric soprano roles. Regular postcard signed by her with a short sentiment, dated in Zurich, October 10, 1950. Size is 5.8 x 4.1 inches, in excellent condition.

German conductor (1868-1934) and Choir Director. Beautiful large photograph of him signed with a short sentiment dated June 23, 1923; photo by Alb. Meyer Nacht (Berlin). Size is 9.6 x 13.1 inches, mounted on soft cardboard, dust stains over the cardboard, some silvering around the borders of the photo, in overall very good condition (see scan provided).

Swiss baritone (1917-1988). Regular postcard signed and inscribed by him, dated in Zurich, August 28, 1951. Size is 5.7 x 4.1 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian opera composer and conductor (1774-1851), highly famous in his time for some of his 22 operas. Spontini has largely been forgotten after his passing away. Beautiful vintage lithograph of the composer by Louis Massard, shown young. Size is 6.25 x 10.75 inches, in excellent condition.

Hungarian tenor (1824-1911), great performer in operas of Rossini, Donizetti, and early Verdi. Autograph letter in Italian signed by him as “Fr. Stéger”, dated in Barcelona, Feb. 20, 1872, to his impresario Giuseppe Lamperti (1834-1898) in Milan, about his conditions for singing in Odessa: “...cinquemila franchi in oro mensili, ed una mezza serata netta di spese. Se potrai arrivare al viaggio [travel refund] mi farai cosa grata...”. This amount seems justified to him, as an impresario from Bucharest having offered him “...20.000 franchi per 5 mesi, con serata e viaggio da Pest 2 persone ; io ne volevo 25.000...”. Barcelona's musical season is looking good, despite a terrible organization,”...un caos da perdere la testa...”. He mentioned the success achieved in Valencia by the opera troupe led by Costantino Dall’Argine, etc. Size is 5.25 x 8.1 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), creases, dust stains, in overall very good condition. Four lines of text below his signature, written by another unidentified hand, with signature.

Typed letter in English signed by her as “Flor”, dated 1967, to Carla Hinrichsen: “...It was very nice of yours to send me a copy of the very interesting review by Basil Ramsey of Opus 100, written indeed in a very important magazine...”. Size is 5.8 x 9.27, 1 page, letterhead, in excellent condition.

Italian composer (1771-1839) of Austrian descent, known for his operas and oratorios. Beautiful vintage lithograph of him engraved by Edme Queneday des Riceys (1756-1830). Size is 7.75 x 10.25 inches, rust tone over borders, otherwise in very good condition (see scans provided).

Hungarian-American conductor and violinist (1899-1985), appointed conductor of the Minneapolis Symphony Orch. and The Philadelphia Orchestra for 44 years. Regular postcard signed, inscribed, and dated by him on July 5, 1951, on verso. Size is 5.7 x 4.1 inches, in excellent condition.

Czech composer (1908-1993). Fold-out biographical booklet signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, dated 1986 according to postal markings. Size is 3.93 x 8.1 inches, in very good condition. Original envelope is ALSO INCLUDED.

German organist (1808-1879), composer, and music theorist. Fine vintage carte-de-visite (CDV) mounted on cardboard. Total size is 5.2 x 4.8 inches, in very good condition

German coloratura soprano (1898-1972). Back of postcard with her signature dated Oct 27, 1950. Size is 5.8 x 4 inches, in excellent condition.

British composer and organist (1906-1977). Autograph letter signed by him, dated Sept. 10, 1946, to the American composer Johan Franco (1908-1988): «...As luck would have it, next Sunday is the day that I expect to leave for New York to be there for the first half of the week. But perhaps you will be in Boston all the week...». Size is 8.3 x 5.4 inches, 1 page, creases, folds, letterhead, in very good condition.

Dutch composer and organist ((1827-1909), a pupil of Friedrich Kalkbrenner et Fromental Halévy. Fine autograph letter signed by him, dated 22/4 1857, to the German pianist Alfred Dörffell (1821-1905), concerning a Sonata he is composing and about Mendelssohn and Händel music supporters of the time. Each page's size is 4.2 x 6.8 inches, 4 written pages in one folded sheet, overall rust tone, folds, few creases; in very good condition. Handwritten translation from German to Italian in a separate sheet is ALSO INCLUDED.

Austrian composer (1896-1979). Rare autograph music quote signed by him, dated in Viena Nov. 10, 1923, with 2 bars of the Moderato from Gabriel Pierné’s “Berceuse” Op. 8. 1Size is 4.7 x 3.45 inches, 1 page, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is another autograph music quote signed and dated 9. XI 1923 with two bars from David Popper (1843-1913) signed “Seb. Popovici”.

American composer and lyricist (1906-1993), known for her songs "Willow weep for me" and "Who's afraid of the big bad wolf". Written response on a telegram signed by her, dated 9/22/85, where she replies to a request: «...Thank you very much for your interest in my work...I’m scheduled for Oct. at your Society [New York Sheet Music Society] so please allow me to inscribe the covers there when I meet you. And if you have extra copies, please permit me to buy them as I have hardly anything left!...». Size is 7.5 x 7.4 inches, 1 page, in very good condition.

Famous Italian violinist and composer (1857-1928), mostly known for his chamber music. Simonetti´s career developed mostly in England and Ireland. Autograph letter in English signed by him, dated May 29, 1895, to an unidentified lady: “many thanks for your cheque and kind remark about my playing, which has been helped so much by the splendid accompaniments...”. Size is 4.3 x 6.8 iches, 1 page, in very good condition.

Belgian virtuoso violinist (1858-1931), composer, and conductor; regarded as "the king of the violin". Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, no date, to a certain Charlier, with some comments on music. Size is 4.4 x 6.9 inches, 4 written pages in one folded sheet, central fold, minor stains, jagged edges, in very good condition.

Italian composer (1797-1848), best known for his almost 70 operas; along with Rossini and Bellini, he was a leading composer of the bel canto opera style. Autograph note in Italian (untranslated) signed by him. Size is 5.25 x 8.1 inches, 1 page, in very good condition.

Russian composer (1891-1953), pianist and conductor, and one of the most important music creators of the first half of the 20th century. 2-bar autograph music quote signed by him on an album page. Size is 6.75 x 4.5 inches, some stains, in overall very good condition.

Star Spanish violin virtuoso (1844-1908) and composer, considered one of the greatest of the 19th century, whose music is still today regularly performed by top violinists.  1-bar autograph music quote signed by him, dated in London, June 14, 1890. Size is 3.8 x 6 inches, St. James Hall (London) letterhead, minor stains, mounting traces on verso, in very good condition.

French composer (1899-1963) and pianist, whose compositions include songs, solo piano works, chamber music, choral pieces, operas, ballets, and orchestral concert music.  2-bar autograph music quote from his Stabat Mater signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment dated 1955 on an album page. Size is 5.6 x 6.75 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer (1899-1963) and pianist, whose compositions include songs, solo piano works, chamber music, choral pieces, operas, ballets, and orchestral concert music.  Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, no year indicated, to the French pianist Alfred Cortot. American composer, teacher, writer, and conductor (1900-1990), one of the most important composers from America in the 20th century. 2-bar autograph music quote on an album page from his work "El Salon México" signed by him in Rio de Janeiro, in September 1947. Size is 5.75 x 4.4 inches, in very good condition.

French composer (1845-1924), organist, pianist, and teacher; one of the foremost French composers of his generation. Long autograph letter in French (sold untranslated) signed by Fauré to an unidentified lady, no year indicated. Each page's size is 4.5 x 7 inches, 7 written pages in 2 folded sheets, folds, storage holes over the top in all pages, otherwise in very good condition.

Norwegian composer and pianist (1843-1907), one of the leading composers of his country, helped put the music of Norway abroad and develop a national musical identity. Extraordinary 9-bar autograph music quote from his ballade op.24 signed by him and dated in Paris, April 22, 1903. Size is 10.3 x 6.6 inches, rust tone on borders, in very good condition. On verso, there is another autograph music quote signed by an unidentified composer.
