American music critic (1918-2001) and senior editor of Parade Magazine. Typed letter in English signed by him, dated January 31, 1978, addressed to the German doctor Hans-Rudolf Wiedemann: “…I would like to thank you and your wife for the kind sentiments you express about my book The Mendelssohns…”. Size is 7.2 x 10.5 inches, 1 page, folds, creases, in overall very good condition.

Belgian-born French conductor, pianist, and composer (1884-1960). Autograph note in French signed by him, dated 23/V/1922, discussing Cassandra (1903), the most known opera by Vittorio Gnecchi: "... Why did you bother so much and what a hassle to be able to send me this rich object (...) You're the one who asked me several times to return the music to you. However, you need the choir and the soloist to judge your Cassandra...". Size is 5.3 x 8.45 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), central fold, overall rust tone, with letterhead, in very good condition.

Romanian conductor (1887-1964). A fine album page signed by him with a short sentiment to Joaquin Mestres and dated in May 1931. Size 5.1 x 7,5 inches, overall rust tone, in overall very good condition.

French composer (1867-1923) of operettas, and became known by writing the music for the play "Ubu Roi" by Alfred Jarry in 1896. Interesting autograph letter in French signed by him and dated 1894, addressed to Francis Bettès, director of the magazine Universe Musical, informing that his first music chronicle has been written and ready to be published. Size is 5.3 x 8.4 inches, central fold, overall rust tone, letterhead, in very good condition.

French mezzo-soprano (1868-1918). Autograph note in French (untranslated) signed by her as “C. Wyns”, no date, but written from Cairo, thanking a fan and inviting him to hear more at her house. Size is 5 x 6 inches, central fold, otherwise in excellent condition.

Austrian composer (1843-1922), a big rival in his time of the Strauss family.  Fine black-and-white photo postcard signed by him on the back adding a few lines greeting a lady. Size is 3.4 x 5.1 inches, in excellent condition.

French baritone (1922-1999). Autograph note in French signed by him as “Bernard”, dated 1956, in Lyda Fournier’s Visits Album: "Lida, you're the only Lida and that's why I love you, now that we're far from the city that was so little made for us. Nothing could foster our affection more than this dreamland...". Lydia Fournier was the wife of the cellist Pierre (1906-1986). Size is 4.5 x 6.7 inches, 1 page, in very good condition.

German violinist (1884-?), wife of the composer Philipp Jarnach (1892-1982). An interesting autograph letter in German (untranslated) signed by her, dated in Cologne, February 20, 1930, to a gentleman, on musical matters, stating “I have our national telephone conversation to my husband d. Erdmann. E. asks you to write again to Bernstein, who in the meantime has already complained that he was passed over after this engagement. Philipp, however, went to Berlin where he is playing tonight. He still has me to tell you that, after reconsidering, he would like to come back to your friendly offer to conduct his "Vorspiel" himself….”. Size is 8.8 x 11.22, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), folds, overall rust stains, in very good condition.

German conductor (1866-1927) and director of the Frankfurt Opera Theater. Set of two autograph letters signed by him, as follows: A. Wiesbaden 27 October 1908, to an editor, giving biographical details and thanking him for his availability. B. July 16, 1888, to a gentleman, inviting him on behalf of Mrs. Wagner to his upcoming performances.  Sizes are 5.3 x 6.6 inches, 3 written pages in one folded sheet, folds, rust stains, in very good condition (1908), and 5.6 x 8.6 inches, 1 page, with letterhead, in very good condition. Leading Russian tenor (1882-1944) who developed an international career after the Russian revolution in 1917, and left nearly 90 recordings. Signed photograph, shown as himself, inscribed and dated in 1927. Size is 8 x 10 inches, several small creases on edges, otherwise in very good condition. 

Russian contralto (dates unknown), celebrated at the Chicago Civic Opera, signed vintage photograph, shown as herself, inscribed and dated in Chicago in 1926. Size is 7.5 x 9.5 inches, several cuts on each corner of the photo, not affecting the image or text. Priced accordingly.
