Italian Tenor (b. 1930), signed photograph, shown as himself, dated in 1974. Stamped on verso by photographer Piccagliani, La Scala, Milan. Size is 4 x 5.75 inches, in excellent condition.  

Russian bass (1886-1949), fine black and white postcard photograph signed by him, shown as Mephistopheles in Gounod's Faust. Size is 3.5 x 5.4 inches, minor paper loss on several edges, otherwise in very good condition.

Italian opera composer (1858-1924), the greatest creator of verismo for over 30 years until his death from cancer. Beautiful black-and-white half-tone photograph of the composer (originally made by A. Dupont, New York) mounted on a photographer mat by Alfieri Lacroix (Milan) signed and inscribed by the composer in Bagni di Lucca, 1909, with three bars from Mimi's aria in La Bohème.  Total size 6.1 x 9.9 inches, in excellent condition. Photographs of Puccini with music quotes are extremely rare!

French singer and film actor (1907-1983); active in movies between 1929 and 1982.  Signed half-tone promo photograph shown as himself.  Photo by P.I. Editions, Paris. Size is 3.25 x 5.25 inches, several very small bullet holes at far edges of the photo, otherwise in very good condition.

German tenor (1863-1941), signature clip mounted onto a photo postcard showing him as Siegfried in Wagner's Ring Cycle, a photo by Hermann Leiser, Berlin. Signed as "E. Kraus". Size of clip is 1 x 2 inches, total item size is 3.25 x 5.25 inches, in excellent condition. 

English contralto (1872-1936), best known as a recitalist and concert singer. Signed postcard photograph, shown as herself. Photo by Ellis and Walery photographers. Size is 3.5. x 5.5 inches, slight silvering on right side and very small creases on bottom left and right, otherwise in very good condition.

Australian operatic soprano and also folk singer (1912-1994), signed photograph, shown most likely in role. Size is 3.5 x 5.25 inches, mounting traces on verso, otherwise in very good condition.

Dutch-born actress, singer, and violinist (1886-1941) born as Betty Callish, (also known at various times as Betty Kalisch and Babette Callish), was the fourth wife of Austrian conductor Felix Weingartner from 1922-31. Was primarily active as a stage actress from 1906-18. Signed postcard photograph, shown as herself, most likely with Felix Weingartner by her side. Signature on verso. Size is 3.1 x 5.25 inches, in very good condition. 

Autograph letter with the letterhead of the Vanderbilt Hotel New York signed by the Italian tenor to his uncle Liberato, written in Italian (sold with translation). Size is 8.1 x 10.5 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and verso), folds, fading ink but still clearly visible, some stains, in overall very good condition. In this letter, Caruso sent his condolences to his uncle for the death of his aunt and also expressed "the fear of not being able to satisfy the public makes me sick and many times I wish for eternal rest" -a premonition of the accident he would suffer 3 months later of which he eventually died.

French composer (1818-1893), who achieved an international reputation for his operas "Faust" and "Romeo et Juliette".  Sepia cabinet photograph of Gounod by photographer Charles (Bordeaux) signed by the composer, mounted on soft white paper.  Size is 5.2 x 8.6 inches, gilded edges, minor crack over the upper-left corner, otherwise in excellent condition.

American soprano (1876?-?).  Signed photo postcard, shown as Santuzza in Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana, dated in 1904.  Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, in very good condition.

American ballet dancer (1917-99), an early member of Ballet Theater (now the American Ballet Theater), best known for her long association with Jerome Robbins. Signed photograph, shown as herself, size is 3.5 x 5.75 inches, in excellent condition.

English soprano (1885-1969), signed photograph, shown as herself, dated in 1936. Stamped on verso by photographer Kenneth Collins, London. Size is 4 x 6.25 inches, small tear at the top left not affecting image and signature and mounting traces on verso, otherwise in very good condition. 

French-American coloratura soprano (1898-1976), a Metropolitan star for nearly 30 years. 3.25 x 3.75 inch signature cut, dated by her in 1934 mounted onto a card which also includes an unsigned 2.25 x 3.25 inch half-tone black and white photo of her shown as herself possibly taken from a newspaper or magazine. Total item size is 4 x 6.25 inches, in excellent condition.

Austrian composer (1878-1934), conductor, teacher, and administrator. His signature on a card dated in Berlin, September 1931, matted with a small ovalized half-tone photograph of him.  Total size is 7.8 x 9.7 inches, signature card is 4.8 x 2.2 inches (visible window size), ovalized photograph is 2.4 x 3.2 inches, all in excellent condition.

German composer (1838-1920), violinist, teacher, and conductor who wrote more than 200 works, among them his famous first violin concerto. His business card handwritten in French on both sides and signed by him, dated in Berlin, December 3, 1907. Size is 4.2 x 2.4 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned half-tone photograph of him (a clip from a program o book). Size is 3. 3 x 4.6 inches, in excellent condition.

Ukrainian-born French ballet dancer, choreographer (1905-1986), principal dancer of Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, and director of the Paris Opera Ballet. Book "A L'Opéra" with many illustrations published by Champrosay (Paris), limited edition of 750 copies made with a special type of paper, no year indicated (circa the early 1940s).  Size is 10.2 x 13.4 x 0.8 inches, some wear on the front cover, inside in excellent condition.  

Program for the opera and ballet gala performances celebrating the 1972 Olympiads in Munich.  Size is 9.25 x 8.6 inches, in German, 190 pages, soft covers, minor stains of covers, inside in excellent condition.

German aero-engineer and test pilot (1898-1993) who worked as director of the Madras Institute of Technology, and played a crucial role in the development of the Indian airforce. Heinz Conradis' book "Forschen und Fliegen: Weg und Werk von Kurt Tank" (Research and Fly: Kurt Tank's Path and Work) signed and inscribed by Kurt Tank on the frontend page in Bangalore, October 28, 1960. The book was written in German, published by Musterschmidt-Verlag, 396 pages, size is 5.5 x 8.25 inches, hardcovers, dustjacket, some wear and cracks on the dustjacket, some rust in the initial pages, the rest in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED are four photographs of Mr. Tank and alongside Indian president Jawaharlal Nehru.

Star Australian soprano (1861-1931), who became one of the most famous singers of the late Victorian Era and the 20th century for her beautiful voice and technique.  Book "Melba's Gift Book of Australian Art and Literature" signed by the famous soprano with a short sentiment and dated in 1918 on the first blank page opposite her printed image in color by the Australian artist Florence Rodway. The book was published by George Robertson, no year indicated. Size is 7.5 x 10 inches, 176 pages, minor wear on the front cover, inside in very good condition, beautifully illustrated.

Beautiful photo book "Der Kunstlerische Tanz" (The Artistic Dance) with many thumbnail photographs (5-6 photos per page) published by Eckstein-Halpaus, Dresden, 1930. Size is 11.25 x 9.25 inches, 54 pages, some cracks and dirt on the front cover, inside in excellent condition.

Star American composer and conductor (1918-1990), who was the first conductor born and educated in the US to receive worldwide acclaim. Vocal score for Beethoven's "Misa Solemnis" for choir, soloists, and piano signed by the star American conductor on the first blank page, dated by another hand on January 29, 1969. The vocal score has Bernstein's own rehearsal markings made with a red pencil for the preparation of the work. Size is 6.75 x 10.2 inches, 141 pages, soft covers, handmade plasticized front cover, inside in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a mugshot of the conductor during the rehearsals.

Irish playwright (1856-1950), critic, polemicist, and political activist, whose influence on Western theatre, culture, and politics extended from the 1880s to his death and beyond. His book "The Adventures of the Black Girl in Her Search for God" (1932) signed, inscribed, and dated by him on October 5, 1934. Published by R. & R. Clark, Edinburgh, 1932, first edition.  Size is 5.3 x 8.2 inches, 74 pages, semi-hard covers, some wear on the spine, inside in excellent condition.  

German composer and pianist (b.1936). Postcard signed by him. Size is 4.1 x 5.8 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian-born composer (1760-1842) who spent most of his life in France, and is well known today for his opera Medee (1797). Document from the Royal School of Music in Paris, dated April 17, 1830, signed by various personalities including composer Cherubini (whose signature is the first one at the top), about a piano competition.  Size is 8.1 x 12.25 inches 1 page, minor stains, central fold, otherwise in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a wonderful lithograph of the composer. Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, spotted rust, in very good condition.

Polish composer and pianist (1882-1937), member of the modernist Young Poland movement that flourished in the late 19th and early 20th century. Autograph letter in French (sold untranslated) signed by him, no date mentioned, about personal matters. Size is 5.2 x 7.1 inches, 1 page, mat burn marks, otherwise in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a half-tone photograph of the composer in his youth. Size is 5.9 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1898-1979), who wrote music on American subjects, and is best known for his Symphony #3. Card with a 5-bar music quote from an unknown piece signed by the composer with a short sentiment, dated December 29, 1932. Size is 6.25 x 4.3 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned half-tone photograph of the composer (probably a clip from a magazine or book). Size is 4.1 x 4.7 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1923-1983), teacher, and administrator. Lengthy autograph 5-bar music quote from his Symphony #7 (composed in 1963, published in 1967) signed by him at the bottom with a quote and dated July 13, 1981. Size is 8.3 x 11 inches, 1 page, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned half-tone photograph of the composer (probably a clip from a magazine or book) with his facsimiled (printed) signature.  Size is 3.3 x 4.4 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer and music critic (1803-1856), prolific creator of ballets and operas, Adam is best known for his ballets Giselle (1841) and Le Corsaire (1856).  Autograph letter in French (sold with translation) signed by the composer to a friend, dated March 23, 1836, about personal matters, mounted on a mat with his portrait.  Total size is 13.1 x 9 inches, letter size is 3.9 x 4.9 inches, embossed initials over the upper-right corner, portrait's size is 4.8 x 5.8 inches, all in excellent condition.

English composer (1902-1983), known for his works in several classical genres including opera, oratorio, orchestral, film, etc. Autograph note with the hotel's letterhead signed by him on Easter Sunday 1973.  Size is 8.7 x 6.5 inches, 1 page, central fold, in excellent condition.
