French composer (1810-1876), composed a number of operas, symphonies, and chamber music and was famous in his time. Unsigned CDV or carte-de-visite, an original photo by Pierre Petit, Paris, with the composer posing standing for the photographer. Size is 2.4 x 4.2 inches, ink markings by another hand on front, in truly excellent condition.

Double signed album page of German soprano and mezzo-soprano Anna Hildach (1852-1935)  and her husband, German composer and baritone Eugen Hildach (1849-1924), creator of many songs. This page is signed in 1898 with bold handwriting and signatures, size is 5 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.   

Lot of 4 items including 2 autograph letters signed of the American tenor Roland Hayes (1887-1977), one is a 2 page letter, dated in 1943, size is 5.25 x 8.25 inches, neatly folded and in very good condition. The other letter is 1 page, written in Brookline, Massachusetts, dated in 1967, with clearer handwriting and signature, size is 7.25 x 10.5 inches, also in very good condition.  Also included: a 5 x 6 inch unsigned photo of him in old age, clear image in excellent condition, and an unsigned publicity photo playbill and biography of his daughter, soprano Afrika Hayes, including excerpts from reviews of her concert recitals (including a joint recital with her father), this item is 7.25 x 11 inches, in very good condition. Not sold separately, only as a lot. 

Bulgarian bass (1929-2004), French tenor (1933-2007), and French soprano (1928-2021), triple signed cast page of a performance of Gounod's Faust at the Lyric Opera of Chicago in October 1963. Verso contains a full synopsis of the opera. Size is 8.25 x 11 inches, in very good condition.

French soprano (1814-1880) whose full name was Cecile Eugenie Mayer Garcia, a leading performer at the Opera Comique in Paris and prominent voice teacher, and who was also the wife of the famous Spanish baritone Manuel Garcia Jr. Autograph letter signed, 3 pages on a folded 4 page document, embossed, written in French and sold untranslated. Signed as "E. Garcia". Clear and bold handwriting and signature. Each page is 5.25 x 8 inches, small folds but otherwise in excellent condition.  

Italian soprano (1847-1917), premiered the role of Desdemona in Verdi's Otello in 1887, as well as Tigrana in Puccini's Edgar in 1889. Unsigned playbill, announcing an operatic concert at the Teatro Municipale in Modena, Italy including scenes from both Verdi's Il Trovatore and Un Ballo in Maschera (the latter featuring a duet with the tenor Arturo Byron). Size is 6 x 9 inches, small creases at the bottom and very small bullet hole at the top, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Scottish soprano (1874-1967) with a substantial career in France and America in the first third of the 20th century. Her personal card signed by her with a greeting, dated 1924, mounted on soft black cardboard.  Size is 3.3 x 2.4 inches, in very good condition.

Swedish-American stage actress (1883-1974). Fantastic sepia photograph signed by her with a short sentiment, dated in 1915. Size is 7 x 8.6 inches, mounting traces on verso, in very good condition.

American stage and film actor (1876-1953), active between 1900-1952. Stunning black-and-white photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, shown as D'Artagnan. Size is 7.3 x 10.8 inches, in very good condition.

Canadian-born American actress (1875-1962), and singer of musicals, comedies, and opera. Fine sepia photograph signed and inscribed by her with a short sentiment, shown in role.  Size is 5.8 x 7.1 inches, mounting traces on verso, in very good condition.

American stage actress (1867-1948), mostly known for her performances in Shakespearean roles, Broadway shows, and appeared in four silent films. Beautiful black-and-white photograph signed and inscribed by her, dated in 1908; blind-stamped on front by photographer Bangs, New York.  Size is 4.3 x 6.5 inches, silvering on borders, crease over the upper-left corner, in overall very good condition.

Polish stage performer (1872-1918), Broadway singer, and wife of impresario Florenz Ziegfeld. Page signed by her with the letterhead of the hotel, dated in 1914, mounted on soft black cardboard.  Size is 5.25 x 6.75 inches, folds, rust stains, in overall good condition.

Spanish tenor (1869-1919) who moved to Argentina in 1889 and served as the director at the California Temple of Arts in Los Angeles, USA. Fine photo postcard signed by him, dated in 1907, shown in role.  Size is 3.1 x 5.2 inches (trimmed from a larger size), mounting traces on verso, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a personal card with his signature printed on one side and handwritten by him on verso, dated in Los Angeles, 1907.

French bass (1868-1933), who starred in the world premiere performances of Arrigo Boito's Nerone. Autograph note to a fan signed by him, dated in New York, 1906.  Size is 4.8 x 6.25 inches, central fold, in very good condition.

English actress (1878-1974) of stage and silent films; active between 1916-1919. Beautiful photograph signed and inscribed by her with a short sentiment.  Size is 6.6 x 9.75 inches, minor stains, in very good condition.

American comedic actress (1871-1946). Set of two wonderful sepia photographs signed and inscribed by her, shown as herself.  Each one's size is 7.8 x 8.9 inches (trimmed from a larger size), one of them has a loss of paper over the lower-left corner and cracks over the upper border; both in good condition. SOLD TOGETHER, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

Russian pianist, composer, conductor, and teacher (1829-1894), regarded as one of the greatest keyboard virtuosos. Original, unsigned CDV of the composer, shown young, a photo by Fritz Luckhardt, Vienna. Blind stamp by the photographer on front, over the lower right corner, 2.5 x 4 inches. On verso: ink writing over the top, in red ink, indicating his last name, sticker at the bottom by a music dealer, in overall very good condition.

Italian mezzo-soprano (1903-1968), appeared as Mère Jeanne in the world premiere performances  of Poulenc's ‘’Les Dialogues des Carmélites’’ at La Scala, Milan in 1957, and also appeared in the 1952 premiere of I. Pizzetti’s ‘’Cagliostro.  Autograph letter signed, 2 pages, dated in Milan in 1956, written in Italian, sold untranslated. Written to the well-known opera collector Leo Riemens. Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, some rips and tears on various edges of the document, but otherwise in good condition. 

Italian baritone (1894-1959) celebrated in many Italian opera houses. Signed Program for a performance of Montemezzi's L'amore Dei Tre Re with the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, London on July 4, 1930.  This is a four page folded document, containing a full English language synopsis of the opera, and two identical cast pages for the same performance, his hand-written signature is on the first of these multiple cast pages (other pages are not scanned).  These performances also featured such noteworthy singers as Rosa Ponselle, Ezio Pinza, and Francesco Merli. Size of each page is 7.5 x 10 inches, some creases and folds, otherwise in very good condition.  

French soprano (1896-1979), signed postcard (not a photograph of her), with text and signature on the verso of the card.  Written in French, and sold with a typed one page English language transcription. Size of the card is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, the transcription (unfolded) is 8.5 x 11 inches, both are  in excellent condition.

Norwegian soprano (1845-1935), wife of the famous composer Eduard Grieg. Signed card, dated in 1909. Size is 3.6 x 8.5 inches, slight rust but in generally very good condition.

German mezzo-soprano (1883-1961), autograph letter signed, dated in Leipzig in 1920, 2 pages, written in German and sold untranslated. Bold handwriting and signature. Size of each page is 7 x 7 inches, in excellent condition. 

Collection of thirteen mostly autographed items (one unsigned photo postcard, the other twelve are all signed) by prominent opera singers ranging from the late nineteenth century to the 1960s and 1970s, a very diverse lot including signed programs, typed letters signed, signed cards, signature cuts, signed album pages, and signed photo postcards. Signatures are from such leading artists as Beniamino Gigli, Dusolina Giannini, Jerome Hines, Johanna Gadski Lily Pons, Louise Homer, Selma Kurz, and Tito Gobbi, among others.  (The unsigned photo postcard is also of Gigli). Sizes range from 2.75 x 4.25 inches to 8 x 10.25 inches, and most are in very good condition (there are small tears on the bottom right as well as fold's on Homer's typed letter signed, not affecting any of the text or signature). Not sold separately.
