Recently Added Authentic Autographs and Memorabilia

Italian tenor (1865-1943) and one of the most important Italian tenors of his day, having premiered many title roles during his career.  Signed postcard (not a photograph of him), containing a drawing of the auditorium of La Scala Milan. This drawing is by Arti Grafiche Galileo, Milan. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, some wear on various edges, otherwise in good condition. 

American actor (1901-1961), 2-time Academy Award winner and a super star in his time.  Fabulous large signed photo from the set of his film "The Real Glory", 1939, next to actress Andrea Leeds (1914-1984) and actor David Niven (1909-1983).  An original photo, 13.4 x 10.5 inches, ink stamped on verso by photographer Coburn. Gary Cooper signed and inscribed this photo with a short sentiment on the lower right corner. In excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED are two large size, original unsigned photographs from the same set, also stamped on verso by photographer Coburn, same size, in excellent condition. Wonderful album from France, 1880s, with pages containing 44 original albumen prints of nude female models, all mounted on the pages.  Each page is 8.3 x 10 inches, rust stains on pages, mostly not on photos, blue hardcovers, all tied up with a black cloth thread, in overall very good condition. American ballet dancer and teacher, member of the American Ballet Theater in 1976, then principal dancer in 1986. Signed pair of pointe shoes, in black ink, used in performance, in very good condition.

American baritone (1857-1921) and American contralto (1871-1947). Fine card signed and dated by the baritone on February 6th, 1901, attached to an album page.  Total size is 6.75 x 9.8 inches, in excellent condition. ON VERSO there is a signature cut with a short sentiment by the celebrated contralto, dated in 1907, attached to a half-tone photograph of her.  

American vaudeville performer (1890-1959). Beautiful photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, shown in role; blind-stamped on the front by Rembrandt Studios, Detroir.  Size is 8 x 9.9 inches, in very good condition.

American stage actor (1858-1932), songwriter, and singer. Nice set of 2 photographs (one of them in role) signed by him; each one of them is stamped on verso by photographer Frank C. Bangs, New York. Each one's size is 5.8 x 8.1 inches, mounting traces on verso, some fading on ink, in overall very good condition. SOLD TOGETHER, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

English theater and film actor (1858-1944). Autograph note signed by the actor on a page plus a card with his signature (separated). Note is is 10.2 x 6.4 inches (open size), card is 3.4 x 2.3 inches, in very good condition.

Program for a piano solo recital of works by Beethoven, Scarlatti, and Schumann by the Croatian pianist at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, on September 22nd, 1981, signed by him on his photo page. Size is 5.75 x 8.9 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in very good condition.

Program for a performance of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra conducted by Wolfgang Sawallisch at The Royal Festival Hall, London, on October 20th, 1980, signed by the conductor on his bio page. Size is 8.8 x 7 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in very good condition.

Program for a performance of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra at The Royal Albert Hall, London, on March 11th, 1982, under the baton of Eugen Jochum, signed by him on his bio page. Size is 9 x 7 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in excellent condition.

Super star Italian tenor (1873-1921), acclaimed at the major opera houses of Europe and America, for his interpretations in a wide variety of roles from the Italian and French repertoires. Additionally, he made approximately 260 commercially released recordings from 1902 to 1920. Signed postcard with an image of Vienna including military officers and other people as well as major building structures in the background. Signed in Vienna, dated in 1907 with his full name. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, some scotch tape residue on verso, otherwise in very good condition.   

Welsh soprano (1842-1897), signed embossed 1 page document, written in London. Size is 4.5 x 7 inches, mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Latvian concert tenor, celebrated Lieder singer and famous singing teacher (1854-1931).  Autograph letter signed, 2 pages, written in German, sold untranslated. Size is 4.75 x 7.75 inches, in excellent condition. 

American mezzo soprano and later soprano (1867-1950), autograph note signed mounted on paper, 1 page in English, written on the stationary of the Hyde Park Hotel, London. Original note size is 5 x 6.75 inches, full item is 8 x 11 inches, in excellent condition. 

Austrian coloratura soprano (1833-1891), signed album page, dated in 1878, written in German, sold untranslated. Size is 5.25 x 8.75 inches, in excellent condition. 

American baritone (1911-1960), signed envelope, size is 3.5 x 6 inches, in excellent condition. 

French soprano (1886-1961), who achieved considerable popularity in opera, operetta, and recitals during a career which lasted more than four decades. Full 4- page signed program of a recital by her, performed in New Zealand in 1949, containing the full text of the pieces performed along with a biography, her signature is on the cover page. Size is 7.25 x 10 inches, small creases and folds but in generally good condition. 

French soprano (1879-1939).  Autograph letter signed, 1 page, written in French, sold untranslated, dated in 1901. Bold handwriting and signature. Size is 5.75 x 7.5 inches, in excellent condition. 

German soprano (1802-1877), born Katharina Sigl, with the last name Vespermann reflecting her marriage to the baritone Wilhelm Vespermann in 1827.  Autograph note signed written in Paris in 1831, 1 page, written in French, sold untranslated. Size is 4.5 x 7.25 inches, in excellent condition. 

English soprano (b. 1960) and Canadian tenor (b.1956), both known for Wagnerian repertoire in the 1990s and 2000s. Double signed full program (with both signatures on the cast page), along with an accompanying full libretto, also signed by both of them on the cover page, for a performance of Richard Wagner's Tristan und Isolde at the Metropolitan Opera  in November 1999. Program is 90 pages long, all pages and covers, each page is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, in excellent condition. Complete libretto is 31 pages long, and contains a full English translation along with the original full German text, as well as a brief summary, 6.75 x 10.25 inches, in excellent condition. Not sold separately. 

Program for a performance of music by Tchaikovsky, Mahler and Debussy by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the German-American conductor at the Royal Festival Hall, on June 11th, 1982, signed by him and soloist star Korean violinist. Size is 8.25 x 11.8 inches, crease at the center, otherwise in excellent condition.

Program for a recital of the star German mezzo-soprano at Wigmore Hall, London, on October 13th, 1993, signed by her on the back of the front cover and by her pianist Charles Spencer on his short biography. Full program with all pages and covers, size is 8.25 x 10.5 inches, crease on the upper-right corner, otherwise in excellent condition.

Program for a performance of music by Brahms and Bartok at the Royal Festival Hall, London, on December 10th (no year), by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the Hungarian conductor, signed by him and soloists Klara Takacs and Kolos Kovacs. Full program with all pages and covers, size is 8.25 x 7.75 inches, in excellent condition.

Program for a performance of Mozart's Symphony No.41 and Mass in C minor by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by the Italian maestro at the Royal Festival Hall, London, on January 27th, 1980; signed by him and soloists Margaret Price, Frederica von Stade, Dennis O'Neill, and John Shirley-Quirk in their corresponding biographies. Full program with all pages and covers, size is 7.25 x 9.6 inches, ink-marking on the cover, stains, otherwise in very good condition.

Program for a performance of Rossini's Stabat Mater conducted by the Italian maestro at the Royal Albert Hall, London, on August 23rd, 1981, signed by the conductor and soloists Katia Ricciarelli, Lucia Valentini-Terrani, Ruggero Raimondi, and Dalmacio Gonzales. Full program with all pages and covers, size is 8.25 x 7.75 inches, in excellent condition.

French soprano and composer (1829-1910). Autograph letter signed, 2 pages, written in French and sold untranslated. Signature is on the bottom of the first page but there is some additional text on the following page. Size is 5.25 x 8.25 inches, very small tear at the very top of each page (outside of the written area), but otherwise  in excellent condition.

Program for a performance of John Taverner's Requiem and Beethoven's Symphony No.6 at the Royal Albert Hall, London, on August 27th, 1981, signed by the composer himself, the conductor and soloists John Shirley-Quirk and Phyllis Bryn-Julson. Full program with all pages and covers, size is 8.25 x 7.75 inches, in excellent condition.

American tenor (1913-1975), major star of the Metropolitan Opera in Italian opera repertoire for 30 years.  Autograph letter signed, 2 pages written in English on the letterhead of the Hotel Quirinale, in Rome in 1970. Contains a lot of interesting information regarding his upcoming scheduled performances as well as his overall availability. Size is 7.5 x 11 inches, in excellent condition. 

Signed program pages of a Metropolitan Opera performance of Richard Strauss's Arabella in 1994, with signatures of each of the artists listed above. This 4 - page item also contains a complete cast list and full synopsis of the opera, signatures are all on the front cast page. Size of each page is 8.25 x 11 inches, in excellent condition

Austrian actor (1861-1942), father of the great Austrian tenor Richard Tauber, Signed album page, 1 page written in German, most likely dated in 1897. Size is 4.25 x 5.25 inches, very small tear on bottom, otherwise in excellent condition.

Baritone (1847-?), signed album page, written in English at the American Opera Company, dated in 1886. Bold signature (signed as "A.E. Stoddard"). Size is 8 x 11 inches, vintage item in excellent condition.

Unsigned program page for a  January 1935 concert at the Grosser Musikvereins-Saal in Vienna featuring a wide range of leading opera and operetta performers, composers and conductors. Among the most prominent featured artists are the Austro-Hungarian and Romanian tenor and actor Joseph Schmidt (1904-1942), performing lieder composed by the leading Austrian tenor Richard Tauber (1891-1948), conducted by the composer. Additional featured performers include the Czech soprano Jarmila Novotna and composers Emmerich Kalman and Oskar Strauss (each of these composers conducting their own pieces). Size is 5.75 x 9 inches, in excellent condition. 

German-born American soprano (1888-1952), known for her many recordings and close association with composer Richard Strauss. Signed album page, dated in 1936 which also contains a half-tone photo of her, shown as herself. Size is 5 x 6.5 inches, in excellent condition. 

Belgian soprano (1834-1907) (whose name is also spelled as "Marie Sass"), who performed in the French premiere of Tannhauser (1861), L’ Africaine (1865) and Don Carlo (1867).  Autograph letter signed, embossed, composed in Neuilly, France, 2 pages, written in French, sold untranslated. Bold handwriting and signature. Size is 3.75 x 6 inches, in excellent condition. Also included: unsigned vintage print, shown in role, in a portrait. Size is 7 x 9 inches, slight rust but in otherwise good condition. Not sold separately. 

Famous French tenor (1859-1940), well-known in his time for his performances of heroic roles in French and Italian opera.  Signed record label for a recording he made of the aria "La Mia Letizia" from Verdi's I Lombardi. Size is 3 x 3 inches, in excellent condition. Autographs of Escalais are very scarce so this is a quite valuable vintage item!

Italian star tenor (1888-1965), signed album page (front page of a book), dated in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1927. Size is 6.5 x 9 inches, some rust on edges of page not affecting clear and bold handwriting and signature.

Collection of eighteen autographed items by prominent opera singers from the 1940s's to the 1970s including program clips, typed letters signed, signed cards, signed album pages, and signature cuts. Includes such leading artists as Beverly Sills,  Blanche Thebom, Ezio Pinza, Grace Moore, Helen Traubel, Jennie Tourel, John Charles Thomas, Lauritz Melchior, Lawrence Tibbett, Leontyne Price, Pilar Lorengar, and Tatiana Troyanos, among others. Sizes range from 2.25 x 3.25 inches to 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Most have very clear handwriting and signatures and all are in extremely good, well-preserved condition. See scans - not sold individually.  

Austrian tenor (1858-1937), who performed in the world-premieres of several operettas by Lehar, Johann Strauss and other composers. Signed card, dated in 1886. Bold handwriting and signature. Size is 3.5 x 4.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian star tenor (1888-1965), signature cut, inscribed and written in Rome. Size is 3.25 x 9.75 inches, in excellent condition. 

Italian baritone (1868-1930), appeared in world premiere performances of Giordano's Andrea Chenier in 1896 and Leoncavallo's Zaza in 1900. A postcard signed by him, written in Buenos Aires, dated in 1903. Bold and clear handwriting and signature. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition.

American soprano (1873-1950), autograph letter signed, 2 pages written in English, written in Milan. Bold and clear handwriting and signature (signed as "M. Saltzman-Stevens".) Each page is 5.75 x 6.5 inches, slight tear at bottom of each page, otherwise in excellent condition.

Celebrated French soprano (1756-1813), whose real name was Anne-Antoinette-Cécile Clavel, and who was best known by her stage name Madame Saint-Huberty or Saint-Huberti. After her retirement from the stage and her second marriage, she and her husband were murdered in England by a servant.  She appeared in the world premiere productions of Gluck's Armide in 1777 and Salieri's Les Danaides in 1784, as well as in a great many other lesser-known operas. Very rare autograph letter signed, 1 page (of 4 folded pages), written in French, sold untranslated, dated in 1785. Bold handwriting and signature. Size is 6.5 x 8.5 inches, small rust and stains, but otherwise in very good condition. Very rare and valuable historic item!  

Spanish contralto (1897-1965), also known as also known as Aurora Buades-D'Alessio.  Signed photograph, shown in role, inscribed in Toulouse, dated in 1938. Size is 9 x 12.5 inches, slight paper loss on far edges of the cardboard and mounting traces on verso, otherwise in very good condition. 

Italian tenor, signed photograph, shown as Cavaradossi in Puccini's Tosca, extensively inscribed, and dated in 1920. This attractive vintage 4.5 x 6.5 inch photo is mounted onto soft cardboard with a total item size of 6.75 x 8.75 inches, signature is at the bottom of the photo, inscription on the surrounding cardboard.  In very good condition.

Argentinian born tenor, signed photograph, shown as Cavaradossi in Puccini's Tosca. This 3.25 x 4.5 inch photo is mounted onto soft cardboard, handwriting and signature is on the bottom half of the cardboard, below the photo. Photo contains blind stamp of photographer Carlo De Marchi, Milan. Total item size is 7 x 10.25 inches, some bullet holes on the cardboard and the bottom corners of the photo are somewhat loose from the cardboard, discount reflected in price.
