Recently Added Authentic Autographs and Memorabilia

German-born American composer (1848-1937) and bandleader, best known for his ragtime "A Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight". Created in 1896, this was a very popular piece in its time.  Autograph music quote from this famous piece, signed by him below, dated in 1922. Quote is in a larger piece of music sheet, blank at the top, sized 9.5 x 12.4 inches, attached to a slightly larger piece of cardboard, can be easily detached. Also included is a clip from a newspaper, reporting about his death. In very good condition, rare!

Argentine soprano (1896-1969), who enjoyed a major opera career centered in Italy during the 1920s and 30s. Large signed photo, shown as herself, also signed by photographer T. Tevigliani, inscribed and dated in Barcelona, 1926. Size is 10.3 x 14 inches, in very good condition.

American singer (1866-1937), and also the composer of the so-called Tin Pan Alley songs. Large photograph signed and inscribed by her, dated in New York, 1914. Size is 9.4 x 11.5 inches, some rust stains, dirt and scratches, but in overall good condition.

Stage director (1907-1975) and also composer, for many years was the Artistic director at the Chicago Lyric Opera, then superintendent in Arena di Verona and in Bologna. Donati was the husband of famous soprano Maria Caniglia (1905-1979). Large signed photo of a portrait of him, inscribed and dated in 1960. Size is 11 x 13.8 inches, in excellent condition.

Russian-born American composer and violinist (1900-1953), creator of 4 symphonies and an opera, among other works such as concertos. He was a distinguished violinist, worked 7 years as the first violinist of the NY Philharmonic. Autograph manuscript with 2 full pages in separate sheets, with music for a cadenza to Mozart´s "Exsultate Jubilate" (K165) for soprano, inscribed to Russian soprano Maria Kurenko (1890-1980), who signed and inscribed this manuscript on the back of page 2. Each page is 9.4 x 12.5 inches, minor cracks, but overall in very good condition.

Italian tenor (1884-1952), signed photo postcard, shown as himself. Signature on front with additional sentiment on verso. Signed in Bologna, dated in 1915. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches with some silvering and smudges at top of photo not affecting the signature. Otherwise in good condition.

Italian bass (1912-1993), signed photo, shown as himself. Inscribed to Leo Riemens and dated 1957. Size is 6.75 x 9 inches with some mounting traces on right not affecting the signature. Otherwise in very good condition.

American composer (1885-1974), also pianist, arranger, and teacher. Set of two autograph letters signed, both dated in Syracuse, New York in 1943. One letter has 6 pages and the other 5, each one is 4.9 x 7.8 inches, both in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED are two advertisements for his records.

American composer and conductor (1872-1953), best known for photoplay music and other works in silent films. Beautiful photograph signed by him, dated in 1924. Size is 4 x 6 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian-American composer and librettist (1911-2007), who created several popular operas. Signed photo, inscribed and dated in 1987, shown next to a fan. Size is 5 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1801-1890), who was mostly a songwriter, playwright, and poet. Autograph letter signed, dated in Baltimore in 1874, about some business. Size is 7.6 x 9.6 inches, 1 page, some folds and rust, otherwise in very good condition.

French composer (1775-1834), his career focused mostly on opera and has been often called “the French Mozart”, his most famous opera was “La Dame Blanche”, 1825. Note signed in French, sized 5 x 4 inches. Adhesive tape on verso, showing rust on front, otherwise in good condition, not affecting the signature. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned postcard, with a portrait of the composer. English singer (1810-1879), who was also actor, pianist, artist and comediant. Signed album page, dated by him in 1853. Size is 4.8 x 7 inches, in very good condition.

French operetta composer (1832-1918), who was very prolific. Autograph letter signed, written in French, sold untranslated. One page size is 5 x 8 inches, some stains and folds, otherwise in very good condition.

American composer (1878-1963), member of the Indianist movement in American music and known primarily for his song “By the Waters of Minnetonka”. Typed letters signed, both dated in 1947, one in one page and the other in two pages, discussing business. One sized 8.25 x 11 inches and the other one slightly smaller, in excellent condition. American soprano and later stage director (b. 1954), signed photo, shown in title role of Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos at the New York City Opera. Stamped on verso by photographer Beth Bergman, New York. Size is 10 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer (1913-2014), who worked mostly on short films. Typed letter signed, to an unknown recipient, date in Paris in 1975, written in French (sold untranslated). Size is 8.25 x 11.6 inches, 1 page, some folds otherwise in excellent condition.

French romantic composer (1849-1895), who was also a violinist. He composed 8 operas, 5 symphonies, and many works for violin and piano. Two autograph letters signed, dated in 1885 and 1888, to a singer called Clodio. Four and three pages respectively, each one is 5.25 x 8 inches, in good condition.

Hand-colored etching by famous British caricaturist and printmaker James Gillray (1756-1815), published by H. H. Humphrey, London, 1796. French dancer Charles Didelot (1767-1837) performs on the stage between two women (his wife Rose on the left, and Mme. Parisot (c.1775-1837) on the right). Size is 17.4 x 12.5 inches, some spots with rust, overall age toning, tape marks over the top margin, otherwise in very good condition.

Czech tenor and silent film actor (1848-1933), signed photo postcard, shown in role, dated 1917. Blind stamped by photographer Varen Randeral, Prague. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches with some silvering around edges of photo but otherwise in good condition.

German tenor (b.1940) and Finnish bass (b.1945), double signed photo, shown in Wagner's Die Gotterdammerung.  Very colorful large photo with bold signatures. Size is 5 x 7.25 inches, in excellent condition.

German bass-baritone (1940-2016), signed photo, shown as Alberich in Der Ring des Nibelungen at Royal Opera, Covent Garden in 2005. Size is 4 x 6 inches, in excellent condition.

Cuban composer (b.1925), who is also a jurist and a music critic. Beautiful photograph and short music quote signed by him for his work Adios for orchestra (“Farewell”, 1977), both matted and ready to frame. Total size is 5.1 x 10.1 inches, quote is 2.9 x 1.7 inches; photograph is 3.1 x 4.75 inches, both in very good condition.

Russian composer and conductor (1893-1972), who was also a teacher, well known as a conductor of the Brussels Symphony and the Vienna Philharmonic. Autograph music quote, from the ballet spring recital, signed by him. Size is 6.25 x 2.75 inches. German conductor, composer and theater director (1868-1933), he was the chief conductor at the Berlin State Opera, from 1919 to 1925. Autograph note signed, dated in Munich in 1902, written in German with transcription and translation. Size is 5 x 7.9 inches, one page, in very good condition.

American composer (1889-1949), who started her career as an organist. Phillips created songs, organ concertos and other pieces. Signed photo, inscribed and dated in 1944. Size is 8 x 10 inches, some creases, otherwise in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED are two autograph letter signed by her, with her letterhead, each one is one page, sized 7.25 x 10.5 inches, one of them dated in 1942, in English, both in excellent condition.

German baritone (1880-1960), signed photo postcard, shown as Alberich in Wagner's Das Rheingold at the Bayreuth Festival, dated 1916. Photo by A. Pieperhoff, Bayreuth. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches with a small smudge underneath but not affecting the signature and some wear on edges. Otherwise in good condition.

Maltese tenor‭ (‬1873-1926),‭ ‬signed photo postcard,‭ ‬shown as Siegfried in Wagner's Ring des Nibelungen. Size is 3.5 x 5.5‭ ‬inches, some creases and wear around corners but otherwise‭ ‬in good condition.

Russian cellist and teacher (1927-2007), considered the best cellist of his generation and Russian baritone (b.1953), internationally acclaimed for interpreting the Slovenian and Italian repertory. Large signed photo, together with a third unidentified person who also signed the picture. Size is 12 x 8 inches, in very good condition.

Group of 2 full, large size concert programs, Carnegie Hall, New York, with Bauer performing with the Philharmonic Society of New York orchestra under Josef Stransky. Each one is 9.25 x 11.5 inches, some lose pages but both complete, in very good condition. Not sold separately.

Program for a concert by the Australian pianist, at Carnegie Hall, Dec 14th, 1919. Grainger plays Tchaikovsky´s piano concerto Nr 1, with the Hall orchestra, no conductor listed. Size is 6 x 9 inches, in excellent condition.
