English actress (1847-1928). Autograph note signed by her dated December 9, 1906, asking for support. Size is 5.3 x 7 inches, mat burn marks, in good condition.

Swedish-born ballet dancer of Italian descent (1804-1884), and considered a central figure in the history of European dance. Beautiful set of 7 plates on a folder depicting lithographs by A. E. Chalon and published in 1980 by Mario Bois, featuring the star ballerina in the ballet "La Sylphide". Size is 8.75 x 11.9 inches each, some damage over the folder's spine, plate in excellent condition.

American contralto (1880-1962). 1 autograph letter signed, 3 pages in English, on embossed stationary, dated in 1946. Size of each page is 5.5 x 7 inches, very slight paper loss on bottom right of first page, otherwise in excellent condition. Also included: signed publicity photograph advertising an opera she composed entitled "Rosalind", signature dated in 1946. Size is 4.75 x 10.25 inches, in excellent condition. Bold and clear handwriting and signature on both items, not sold separately. 

French contralto (1875-1932), a major singer in Paris at the Opéra-Comique enjoyed an international career in the 1890s through the 1910s. Autograph letter signed, 2 long pages (one document with 2 sides), written in French and sold untranslated. Size is 8.5 x 11 inches,  several small tears, creases and folds, otherwise in good condition. 

Legendary Danish-American tenor (1890-1973), the preeminent Wagnerian tenor for three decades, from the 1920s to the early 1950s.  Autograph note signed, 1 page, written in English on the stationary of the Ansonia Hotel, New York. Size is 7 x 10 inches, in very good condition. 

German baritone (1897-1977) known for Mozart, Wagner and Strauss roles, sang frequently at the Vienna State Opera. Autograph letter signed, 2 pages, written in German, sold untranslated. Size is 7.5 x 11.25 inches, small tear at the top and several creases and folds, otherwise in good condition. 

Program for a performance of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted Josef Krips at Massey Hall, Toronto, on April 1, 1959, signed by the celebrated conductor on the front page. Full program with all pages and covers, size of each page is 6 x 9 inches, in excellent condition.  

Austrian-American soprano (1879-1954), autograph letter signed, 3 pages, written on a folded 4-page document, written in English, dated in New York in 1936. Size of each page is 5 x 7.75 inches, some rust stains on empty back page, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Belgian born American mezzo (1865-1957), known as "the grand lady of the chorus at the Metropolitan Opera House", sang in opera in both Europe and the United States for over sixty-three years. Autograph letter signed, dated in 1947, 1 page, written in French, sold untranslated. Size is 6 x 8.25 inches, in excellent condition. 

German conductor (1886-1978), and composer from Strasbourg, Alsace-Lorraine. Signed postcard photograph by Fayer photo studio, Vienna. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Canadian conductor (b. 1963), known primarily for opera. Signed photograph, shown young, size is 4 x 6 inches, in excellent condition.

Czech conductor and composer (1914-1996), son of the famous violinist Jan Kubelik. He was at various times music director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, of the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and other ensembles.  Program for a performance of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by him at Boston's Symphony Hall, on Mach 12th, 1953, signed on the front cover. Full program with all pages and covers, size is 6 x 9 inches, in very good condition.

Italian tenor (1893-1964), autograph note signed, 1 page, written in English. Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, 1 fold with small tear on the right and several creases on bottom and sides, otherwise in very good condition. 

English conductor (1844-1930), autograph musical quote signed of three bars of music by Handel.  Bold handwriting and signature, signed as "Wm. L. Tomlins". 9 x 11 inch album page, several small cracks on far left, not affecting any of the text or signature. Otherwise in excellent condition.

Irish baritone (1847-1923), autograph musical quote signed of the opening bars of the Irish folk song "Oh Molly Bawn" composed by  Samuel Lover, dated in May 1890.  Bold handwriting and signature, singed as "Wm. Ludwig". 9 x 11 inch album page, several small cracks on far left and small tear on the right, not affecting any of the text or signature. Otherwise in excellent condition.

Danish baritone (b. 1962), American soprano (b.1956), Austrian mezzo-soprano (b. 1965) and American tenor (b. 1964), signed photo with signatures from each of these artists, shown in Franz Lehar's The Merry Widow at the Vienna State Opera in 1998. Size is 5 x 7 inches, in excellent condition. 

Italian soprano (b. 1942), signed photograph, shown as the Countess in Mozart's Nozze di Figaro, inscribed. Stamped on verso by photographer Franco Tiralongo, Bologna. Size is 5 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

Slovenian soprano (b.1968), signed photograph, shown as Olympia in Offenbach's Les Contes D'Hoffman. Photo by Schaffler and Friese photographers, Salzburg. Size is 4 x 6 inches, in excellent condition.

British politician and writer (1874-1965), Prime Minister of the UK during most of WWII (1940-45) and again after the war (1951-55). Fabulous, large size, original photograph by Vivienne, London, signed by Churchill below and over the photographer´s mat, who dated his signature in 1950. Also signed by photographer Vivienne in white ink, over the photo, and ink stamped by photographer on verso. Total mat size is 14.8 x 18.25 inches, actual photograph is mounted on it and its size is 11.75 x 14.7 inches. Minor silvering on photo borders, some minor scratches over mat, general and very even rust toning, overall in excellent condition. One of the most impressive and large signed images we have seen of the famous leader, in a photograph signed as well by the photographer. Rare!

Russian painter, and scene costume designer (1866-1924), famous for his work for Diaghilev's Ballet Russes. Card from the first and limited edition of the book "L'Ouvre de Leon Bakst pour La Belle au Bois Dormant" (1922) signed by him and by the French publisher Maurice De Brunoff (1861-1937).  Size is 9.25 x 6.75 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a half-tone photograph where he appears, plus composer Igor Stravinsky, and painter Mikhail Larionov).

ALSO INCLUDED is a modern photo postcard (from the 1990s) of him and Anna Pavlova in rehearsal in 1907.

British dancer and actor (1930-1983). Fine black-and-white photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, shown in performance. Size is 8.1 x 9.9 inches, in excellent condition.

French soprano (1921-2021), signed photograph, shown in the title role of Massenet's Thais, dated in 1989. Photo by Studio Vallois. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition.

American ballet dancer (1845-1921), whose talent for expressionist dancing and her private life were covered widely from the mid-1860s until the early 1900s. Original carte-de-visite (CDV) of her by photographer J. Gurney (New York), shown young. Size is 2.4 x 3.9 inches approximately, in excellent condition.

Mexican mezzo-soprano (1925-2013), signed photograph, shown as herself. Hand signed on front and stamped on verso by photographer Luciano Ferri. Size is 4 x 5.75 inches, in excellent condition.  

Hungarian-born bass-baritone (1813-1883), Hölzel was the singer of choice for the role of Beckmesser in the world premiere production of Die Meistersinger in 1868. Signed cabinet photograph, shown as himself, signed and inscribed on verso, dated in Vienna in 1874. Photo by W. Engel, Vienna. Size is 4.25 x 6 inches, in excellent condition. Rare vintage item!

Handwritten album page (or "crib sheet") by the legendary Italian tenor containing the text of the aria "Come Un Bel Di di Maggio" from Giordano's Andrea Chenier with the verso side containing several drawings. This may have been written for his on-stage notebook, text is in pencil. Size is 5 x 7.25 inches, in excellent condition. Rare!

Romanian mezzo-soprano (1887-1960). Attractive vintage photograph shown as herself, signed and inscribed by her, dated in 1932. Photograph is blind-stamped on the front by Foto Reale photographers, Rome. The 6.75 x 9.25 inch photo is mounted onto solid cardboard, total item size is 7.75 x 10 inches, several creases on the top right of the photo, otherwise in very good condition.

Set of 4 beautiful color photos, all signed by performers, from the production of Beethoven's Fidelio at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, 2004. Photos signed by Karita Mattila, Kim Begley, Isabel Bayrakdarian, and Rene Pape, a total of 4 pictures, each one is 8 x 10 inches, in excellent condition. Not sold separately. 

French opera impresario (1825-1897) and director of the Paris Opera Comique. Nice set of 3 autographed letters signed by him, in French (sold untranslated), each of the letters is on the official stationery of the Opera-Comique, Paris. Two of the letters are undated and 2 pages long, with each page 5.25 x 8.25 inches in size; the third is dated 1896, 4 pages in length, 5 x 8 inches in size. All are in very good condition.  SOLD ONLY AS A LOT, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

Unsigned playbill from a June 27, 1883 operatic concert presented at Buckingham Palace, London, for Her Royal Majesty the Queen. Among the participating performers are such legendary nineteenth century artists as Pauline Lucca, Zelia Trebelli-Bettini, and Jean De Reszke. Beautifully embossed. Size is 7. 5 x 9 inches, vintage item in excellent condition!

American vocal trio (1957-1964) formed by jazz vocalists Dave Lambert, Jon Hendricks, and Annie Ross. LP record FRONT sleeve only (no record included) for their album "Lambert, Hendricks & Ross!" (1960) signed by them all. Size is 12.25 x 12.25 inches, in excellent condition.

American blues and rock musician (b.1942), singer, guitarist, and songwriter. LP record sleeve (no record included) for his album "Juke Joint Jump" (1975) signed by him. Size is 12.25 x 12.25 inches, some wear, loss of cardboard over the upper-right corner, creases, in overall good condition.
