French film actor (1930-2006), active between 1948-2006. Beautiful color photograph signed by him, shown probably in a film. Size is 11.6 x 8.25 inches, some creases, minor cracks, in overall very good condition.

French-American actress (b.1931). French film and TV actor (1921-2015). Nice black-and-white half-tone photograph signed by both artists, shown in the film "Gigi" (1958). Size is 3.9 x 5.8 inches, in excellent condition.

German dramatic soprano (1880-1975). Signed photograph, shown as Brunhilde in Wagner's "Der Ring des Nibelungen",  inscribed in New York, dated in 1923.  Printed signature of photographer on front. Size is 8 x 10 inches, some rust above the photo not affecting image and signature, otherwise in excellent condition. 

French mezzo-soprano (1838-1892), admired by George Bernard Shaw, who wrote a lot about her in his reviews, for her interpretations and English diction, rare for a non-native. Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by her, dated in Contrexéville, July 20, addressed to Mr. Tartaglini about personal and professional matters. Size is 4.3 x 6.8 inches, 1 page, rust stains, folds, in overall very good condition.

Romanian-born French composer (1875-1956), who studied under d'Indy, Roussel, and Dukas at the Schola Cantorum, and later music critic for Le Figaro. Set of two autograph letters in French (untranslated) signed by him, as follows:  A. Dated in Paris, April 7, 1922, to a colleague in two written pages concerning an article, informing that such an article was incomplete and forgot to mention he was awarded the Verley Prize and other stuff.  B. Dated January 30, 1918, to a colleague in two written pages, requesting the shipping of a few copies of his article published in the magazine Musica di Roma on Romanian music. Autograph note in English signed by him, dated in Florence, June 6, 1912, addressed to the writer and journalist Jarro (1849-1915) delivering a volume of poetry as a present and some invitations for a concert. Size is 5.2 x 8.1 inches, folds, overall rust tone, in very good condition.

French Breton composer (1840-1910), pianist, and professor of music history/theory at the Conservatoire de Paris as well as a Prix de Rome laureate. Set of two autograph letters in French (untranslated) signed by him [presumably between 1878-1882], as follows:  A. Dated May 23, to Monsieur Mersin, concerning the admission test for singers. Size is 4.3 x 6.7 inches each page, 3 written pages, folds, age-toning, in very good condition. B. Dated December 3, to a gentleman requesting information from an applicant and setting an appointment. Size is 4.2 x 6.7 inches, 1 page, central fold, glue traces on verso, in very good condition. Fine autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him and dated in London, July 11, 1830, addressed to the French composer Daniel Auber thanking him for taking the time to study his opera (presumably "Le Favori") requesting his recommendation to get it performed in France.  Size is 7.1 x 8.7 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), overall rust tone, creases, folds, in very good condition.

Dutch composer (1822-1875), violist, conductor, and music pedagogue. Set of two autograph letters in German signed by him, as follows: A. Dated in Detmold, April 15, 1854, to the music publisher Schloss in Cologne, asking for the possibility of publishing some of his songs, and mentioning the concert of the 4th of April 1854 at the Court opera theatre where he performed pieces from his recently completed opera “Blanca Siffredi”. Size is 9 x 11 inches, 1 page, folds, smudges, creases, folds, overall age-toning, in good condition. Translation into Italian included. B. Dated in Hamburg, March 10, 1857, to the director of a magazine, asking to announce the success of his opera at the Hamburg city theater. Size is 5.1 x 7.8 inches, folds, in very good condition. Translation into Italian included. To obtain sufficient income, he left for Germany in the summer of 1853. After being Kapellmeister in Halle, Linz, and Detmold he took up a similar position at the Municipal Theater in Hamburg. After three years he left for Nuremberg to be associated with the city theater from 1858 to 1874 where he succeeded in getting Richard Wagner's opera Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg performed.  

French composer (1758-1848), music teacher, and piano virtuoso, also known as Louis Adam; and father of composer Adolphe Adam. Printed document completed and signed by the composer, dated June 18, 1839, where he attaches his commentaries on some of his pupils’ final piano exams. Size is 7.6 x 9.5 inches and 9.7 x 12.5 inches, in very good condition.

French composer (1789-1861), violist, and conductor, who won the 1811 Prix de Rome for his cantata Ariane. Set of three autograph letters in French (untranslated) signed by him, as follows: A. Dated in Paris, December 20, 1834, to the librettist and writer Karl Sondershausen (1792-1882), about professional matters. B. Dated in Weimar, January 11, 1840, to “Adalbert” (the tenor Josef Tichatschek) about musical issues, where Tichatschek was presumably the actor premiering in his “Gesänge aus Mitternacht” (1831).  C. Dated in Weimar, December 11, 1860, to “Monsieur l’Inspecteur”, concerning the obstacles for the rehearsals of the opera "Macbeth" imposed by the soprano Stöger. French pianist (1772-1852), teacher, and composer, and was summoned by Napoleon to be part of the Egyptian expedition as a composer. Set of two autograph letters in French (untranslated) signed by him and sent to the music professor Simon Mialle about personal and professional matters. Sizes are 7.7 x 5 inches both, creases, smudge, missing borders, in good condition (see scans provided). French pianist (1772-1852), teacher, and composer, and was summoned by Napoleon to be part of the Egyptian expedition as a composer. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him to François-Xavier Fabre, dated 1822, about music matters. Open size is 7.5 x 9.6 inches, 1 page written, missing border, folds, creases, in good condition (see scans for details).

French conductor (1781-1849) and violinist, who became the founding conductor of the Orchestre de la Société des Concerts du Conservatoire in 1828.Fine printed debt acknowledgment filled by hand, certified with an attached autograph note by Habeneck, in favor of the clarinetist François Dacosta (1778-1866) for January 1842. Also signed by Dacosta and by the director of the Académie Royale de Musique Léon Pillet (1803-1868). Size is 8.1 x 10.1 inches, some smudges, overall age-toning, in very good condition.  

Polish-born composer and pianist (1816-1880). Document with an autograph signature of the Polish composer, with a complete list of music works by the composer, with a separate sheet dedicating it to Prince Louis Napoleon (1856-1879). Different sizes, 4 written pages in total, in overall very good condition (see scans provided).

French conductor and violinist (1838-1910), a great champion of Hector Berlioz' music and contemporary composers. Set of 2 autograph letters (untranslated) signed by the French conductor, as follows: A. Dated March 30, 1878, with the letterhead of the Association Artistique, to the “Président”, regretting not being able to attend a meeting. Size is 5.2 x 8.1 inches, 1 pages, overall rust stains, missing upper-left corner, in very good condition. B. Dated in Paris, November 17, 1886, with the letterhead of the Association Artistique, reminding a friend about one of his upcoming performances. Size is 4 x 5.2 inches, 1 page, overall age-toning, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED are two personal cards with a few autographed lines (one signed “Ed. C.”) of the violinist, mounted on cardboard; and also two printed portraits of him.

Italian pianist and composer (1861-1920), a pupil in Naples of Beniamino Cesi and Paolo Serrao.Set of 3 autograph letters in Italian (untranslated) signed by the Italian pianist and composer, two of them dated in 1889, one in 1918, requesting music publisher Giudici & Strada some printed compositions and three manuscripts pieces for piano; requesting the acceptance of the economic offer for his three pieces for piano op. 20; and the last, addressed to a certain Mr. Scotti, concerning some copies of the magazine “Nuova Musica”.  Different sizes and lengths (8 written pages in total), in overall very good condition (see scans provided). Belgian conductor (1885-1930) and violinist, music director of the Montreal and Chicago Symphony Orchestras.Typed letter in French (untranslated) with the letterhead of the Belgian National Institute of Radio Difusion signed by her, dated in Brussels, 1932, mentioning he received a letter from Mr. Gershwin allowing the use of one of his music. Size is 8.2 x 10.7 inches, 1 page, folds, in very good condition.

French violinist (1778-1861), first violin at the court of Ferdinand VII of Spain. Autograph note in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated March 9, 1829, addressed to the dramatist Théophile Marion Dumersan (1780-1849) about an upcoming appointment.  Size is 8 x 4.8 inches, rust stains, creases, in overall good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an autograph document signed by him, dated May 17, 1828, an Annual grant accorded to the violinist by the “Fonds de réserve” of the Département de Beaux-Arts. In 1821 the composer Carl Maria von Weber conducted a concert in Berlin, in which Boucher was a performer, playing Weber's Variations on a Norwegian Air, to which he added his own cadenza. In April 1822 he visited Ludwig van Beethoven; at the occasion, the composer wrote for Boucher a piece for two violins (WoO 34 in the Kinsky–Halm Catalogue).

American tenor (1840-1910). Autograph letter in German (untranslated) signed by him, dated October 29, 1880, addressed to Mr. May, saying "I am very happy to take over the tenor part of the Glocke since this part was written especially for me by Mr. Max Bruch, and I had the honor of being the first tenor to sing the role in Gürzenich Saale in Cologne on May 12th, two years ago...”. Size is 5.2 x 8 inches, 1 written page, in very good condition.

Italian soprano (1817-1877). Fine personal card with few autograph lines by her dated in Padua, March 18, 1881. Size is 3.9 x 2.3 inches, in excellent condition.

French tenor (1876-1950), who started his career well into his 30s and developed a very successful international career thanks to his beautiful voice and impressive stage appearance. Fine black-and-white photograph on Pathé Records card signed by him, dated 1931. Size is 3.5 x 5.4 inches, evident creases, and few other defect (see scan provided), in very good condition.

Italian soprano (1860-1924). Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by her, dated in Madrid, 1889, addressed to Eugenio Tornaghi, thanking him for forwarding the score of an opera.  Size is 4.3 x 6.7 inches, 2 written pages, folds, some rust stains, in very good condition.

Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by her, no year indicated, addressed to Franco Fano where she recommends her daughter and informs about her success at the Budapest opera to keep her in mind for future engagements. Prominent Italian tenor and singing teacher, usually known only as "Marco Bordogni" (1789-1856), who performed in several operas by Rossini. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, no year indicated, addressed to the director of the Theatre de la Renaissance Anténor Joly (1799-1852) about professional matters.  Size is 5.1 x 8 inches, 1 page, creases, folds, some smudges over ink, in overall good condition.

  Italian singer (1848-?), daughter of the actor Cesare, she is remembered for her performance in Diana di Chaverny by Carlo d'Ormeville. Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by her, dated in Bologna, May 30, 1877, addressed to the dancer Amina Boschetti (1836-1881) sharing her plans to debut in an important theater such as San Carlo in Naples. Size is 3.8 x 6.1 inches, 3 written pages, folds, in very good condition.

French singer (1767-1834), actress, composer, and daughter of composer Pierre-Joseph Candeille. Autograph note in French (untranslated) signed by her, where she writes a message to a gentleman, postponing an appointment due to illness. Size is 4.9 x 7.9 inches, 1 written page, some restorations on verso, in overall good condition.

Italian mezzo-soprano (1835-1901), for many years considered the best Favorita in Donizetti's opera. Set of two autograph letters: one of them dated in Torino, 1877, where she mentions an encounter with her fans, and another dated in Bologna, 1872, about some logistic recommendations to her stay. French bass (1780-1856), who sang in the world premieres of Spontini’s "La Vestale" and Rossini’s "Le Siège de Corinthe". Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Paris, May 17, 1813, addressed to the composer Henri-Montan Berton (1767-1844), concerning an embarrassing financial situation due to the lack of possibilities of recent performances. Size is 7.1 x 8.9 inches, 2 written pages in one folded sheet, folds, overall rust, in very good condition.

Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Naples, 1878 addressed to Mr. Eustachio in Naples, concerning the 1878 performance of the opera Cleopatra at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, commenting also on other performances. Set of two autograph letters in Italian (untranslated) signed by him, dated both in 1902. Both of them addressed to the impresario Franco Fano about his performance in Giordano's "Fedora"; the other about the recovery of his wife's illness and other professional matters. French soprano (1853-1911), also known as Blanche Dieudonne. Long autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by her where she describes her last night debut. Size is 4.1 x 6.5 inches each page, 8 written pages in two folded sheets, folds, creases, in overall very good condition.

Very long autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by her, no date mentioned, by the French soprano where she shares her thoughts on the role of Violetta Valéry in La Traviata and the problems she had performing it. On the first 3 pages on the first sheet, there is an autograph letter signed by Valérie Dieudonné to a gentleman, concerning her sister, who will soon start to sing again. Size is 4.3 x 7 inches, 5 written pages in total, folds, in overall very good condition.

Italian bass (1849-1922) and brother of bass Leopoldo. Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Florence, 1875, addressed to the impresario Ardavani about some real state contracts in Lisbon (Portugal). Size is 5.2 x 8.3 inches, 1 written page, folds, in overall very good condition. Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by her, dated 1894, while touring in Russia, addressed to Franco Fano about her debut as Carmen in Russia, the payment she received, and other professional issues. Argentinian tango composer, violinist, and conductor (1885-1964). Signed photograph, shown most likely at home, extensively inscribed and dated in 1933. Size is 7 x 9 inches, in very good condition.

 Austria-Hungarian-born film actor and art director (1891-1975), known for Fiddler on the Roof (1971), Yidl mitn fidl (1936) and Mamele (1938). He was married to Molly Picon, famous American actress of stage, screen, radio and television.  Signed photograph, inscribed with sentiment, bold handwriting and signature. Blind stamped on front by Rappoport photography studio, New York. Size is 8 x 10 inches, some small creases and slight silvering, otherwise in excellent condition.  

American popular singer whose real name was Elva Ruby Miller (1907-1997), who gained some fame in the 1960s for her series of shrill and off-tempo renditions of popular songs such as "Moon River", "Monday, Monday", "A Lover's Concerto" and "Downtown". Set of 2 signed photographs, one 2.5 x 3 inches, the other 7.75 x 9.75 inches, shown in performance, both are inscribed. In excellent condition, not sold separately.
